The GOP candidates in far too many districts have zero competition, thus letting shit all over their Constituents. The GOP are recipients of the very selfish WEALTHY MEGA DONORS, who I believe, they believe that only the poor should pay taxes, and the poor need to remain poor and dumb, as not to ask too many questions as to why the 1% actually have a lot more wealth than anyone else.

OY!  I remember, when announcing to my mother that my wife and I were expecting our first child, after sharing her delight, she sat down, becoming very serious, and said, let your kids hear the music you grew up to. Tell them stories about when and where you were when your favorite song at the time, was played. Talk about the artists, and make certain your kids understand how music and memory go hand in hand. My mother practiced what she preached, as throughout my childhood, her favorite music from the 30s and 40’s played via the radio and records. I also remember my mother’s sadness when it was announced that one of her favorite singers had passed. My mother also would smile, and say, one day, in the far future, (She was a child of my Romanian Grandmother, who would always pooh-pooh the talk of death), so far future was a safe phrase, you may feel the pang of loss, when a performer who had been a part of your life, is gone! She would take a pause, then add, when they do die, remember the wonderful music they made just for you!

 

In 1965, I heard the song, ‘For What It’s Worth,’ and had an understanding of how hate and anger, falsehoods, and selfishness, were not concepts in movies, but actually homegrown right-in-your-own-backyard phenomena. I recall sitting in one of the study rooms of Hillman Library on the Pitt Campus, back in the day, when a group of friends would gather for study sessions, and we played our transistor radios, and songs like ‘Helplessly Hoping’, and ‘Wooden Ships,’ would play, and we all stopped, listening, thinking that this was Poetry being sung. At Emma Farm, the resident camp at which I worked, once the campers were asleep, we would hold a staff campfire, and the coolest of counselors, the kids who could play guitar, and sing, would start out with ‘Teach Your Children’, and ‘Suite: Judy Blue Eyes’. In 1970, the paranoid wanna-be dictator, NIXON, sent his armed Troops to murder 4 students at Kent State, and to help make sense of something so senseless. In 1971 I listened to the song ‘Ohio’ wondering if my immediate future was somehow at risk of being taken away by the loathing and immorality of politicians.

 

As my mother stated so long ago, my far future has arrived! I did tell my kids about my music, my moods, and my memories associated with the songwriters and singers. And, as my days continue, it is with sadness, that as I journey forward, I must say goodbye to people along the way.  A GOP staffer is suing fellow Republican operatives Matt Schlapp and his wife, Mercedes Schlapp, for sexual harassment and defamation. 

Matt Schlapp is the chairman of the American Conservative Union, the organization that hosts CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference. (Advocate)

 

In interviews with the alleged victim and four campaign staff members, POLITICO confirmed that a small number of campaign officials were made aware of the staffer’s claims about Schlapp within hours of the alleged assault occurring. They advised the staffer not to get back in a vehicle with Schlapp as he was scheduled to do for a campaign event in Macon, Ga. the next day. The staffer said he ultimately did not drive Schlapp again. (POLITICO).

 

WHY THIS SHOULD MATTER: Matt Schlapp is the Chair of CPAC. CPAC has publicly demeaned the LGBTQ community, and as a MAJOR PAC from which the Republican Party receives finances and direction, what CPAC insists is usually what the GOP does. 

 

WHY THIS MOST LIKELY WILL NOT MATTER: Once again the “DO AS I SAY, NOT AS I DO,” far-right conservative MAGA’s and their staunch Christian Nationalist Fascist supporters, hate getting caught up in their own web of HYPOCRISY. They love to point fingers at all those sinners around them, but most of the time have difficulty turning their hands to face themselves, or for that matter look in the mirror. 

 

The reporting on this includes texts provided in real-time by the Walker Campaign Staffer as to the inappropriate groping by the Holier Than Thou Schlapp, and the same Walker Staffer had videotaped the exchange between him and Schlapp. Originally all the Walker Staffer wanted was an apology but being the typical Christian Evangelical Nationalist and Ultra-Right-Wing Nut, Schalpp and his wife claimed they were the victims.

 

I am not surprised at this encounter, and I am certainly not shocked by the “WE THE PERPS ARE THE VICTIM,” response. But I have to HOPE that this is ONE MORE chip falling from the Republican wall of Bull Shit!

 

 

Panic

 It is Friday, January 20, 2023. Here I sit at my computer located in my home office, pondering about the world in which I find my self living. The rain has been relentless in North Truro Massachusetts, causing a vast of array hues of gray. (I honestly had no idea there could be sad gray, depression gray, anxiety gray, piss you off gray and the ever present, fuck you gray.) 

 

Once the debacle of the election of the Speaker of the House ended, I made a promise to myself, that would once again not watch Cable News, or for that fact any Media outlet of news, because just knowing that the same people who encouraged Trump’s attempt at a Coup, would, no matter who pretended to the Speaker, remain in power, and in their usual, unintelligent, uneducated, un-American ways fuck up ALL AND EVERYTHING. During the McCarthy Fiasco, I began to feel a sense of helplessness, creep into my body. I tried to pretend, that I could maneuver my life away from perceived doom and gloom, but once I read about the celebrations by hideous traitors like Putin-Greene/BOEBERRT/Gaetz/ Gosar/Jordan it was nonstop for the palpitations within my body, and a true sense that I could not breathe. I know these are some symptoms of having a Panic Disorder. 

 

So, once I began to feel the physical onset attacking my mind and body, I took time to meditate and reflect, as to why and how come. I did an internal debate, with me, myself, and I, and spent time processing the WHY and WHY NOT’S, the HOW and HOW NOT’S. I realized as a part of this Panic, was the idea, for me that I was tired of EVIL winning way too often, almost becoming a DEFAULT, while  GOOD became the scapegoat, and somehow overlooked.

 

From DeSantis pretending that WOKE is bad, to the Republican-appointed Supreme Court Justices, establishing their own Banana Republic, to Seditionists as Committee Chairs within the House, to some Media Outlets insisting that somehow whatever awful actions done by Republicans, it is the same thing as for the Democrats. What to do, what to do. Then as I tried to catch one more breath, thinking my chest might explode, I said to myself… a quote from Hillel the Elder, "If not us, who? And if not now, when?” I will try and handle my Panic Disorder, because, I believe, that GOOD must triumph over EVIL, because what will remain, if I do not try and make change!

Sadly as McCarthy receives a fair dose of the medicine he prescribed, it is the rest of America suffering the CONSEQUENCES, of INSURECTIONISTS and COUP supporters elected and RE-ELECTED to the House.

It matters not to me, what your education level may, be and it matters not to me, your accomplishments, or not, BUT IT DOES MATTER TO ME, that you be honest about yourself, and permit me the voter to decide if I want to vote for you based on your honesty, integrity, and commitment to the law!

A Bill of Rights as in NO you may not change Party affiliation once you have been elected to represent the Political Party from which you ran for election, and won your seat. I want a law that says, you POLITICIAN were elected because you stated clearly, which political party you embraced. You were elected because we the voter thought you understood your obligation to represent us, as a candidate from one party or another. A law that states DUDE, who the fuck do you think you are to screw with your Electorate because once you were elected this change might promote only you and your selfish interests.

"Ginni Thomas and Clarence Thomas must BOTH be subpoenaed to testify under oath before one of the grand juries hearing evidence about the January 6 coup," Snell tweeted on Friday. "At best, they are material fact witnesses. At worst, they are co-conspirators to be charged with seditious conspiracy." (Newsweek)

I want the Justice Department to leave no stone unturned, and if the trail leads to anyone, as in a former President, Congress people, OR a sitting Supreme Court Justice, as a CITIZEN, I would assume Thomas and Ginni, should receive the same lack of deference I might, and be questioned.
