And now, in July 2023, I once again, am struggling with the current events which ONCE AGAIN, are leading me toward the highway to Hell, which ends in the land of INSANITY. Usually a he, because Hollywood still believes that only men can save the day, but he or she,(because we know that men and women can either save the day or at the same time do nothing at all), would have tried desperately to speak to the Congress, or the UN, or Foreign Governments, providing everyone with a life time’s scientific work, demonstrating that in fact way back when Corporations insisted that Tobacco was a lifesaver and that Fossil Fuels actually aided our environment, and that Safety Features in cars, just were too costly and cumbersome, THE ONLY PRIORITY FOR THOSE CORPORATIONS WAS NOTHING MORE THAN PROFIT!

 

The movie would then pan into the offices of CEOs who personally hired Professionals to pay off Politicians, with the darkest of dark money, and have their marketing department, pay off scientists to create made-up facts and figures showing that CLIMATE CHANGE is nothing more than a bunch of Progressive Socialists claiming, like Chicken Little, that “the sky is falling!”

It is July 2, 2023, as I write this blog. It is July 2, 2023, two days before our country will turn 247 years old on July 4, 2023. (The Fourth of July—also known as Independence Day or July 4th—has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941, but the tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution.)

 

AS I SEE IT, it is as if history is a meaningless fabrication made from the fibers of fiction, with absolutely no relevance for today, and almost as if yesterday had been some imaginary pipe dream of the newly anointed group of citizens identified as WOKE, by the Politicians who seem to be DEAD! We once referred to July 4^th as a day of Independence. Bac k in the day of FREEDOM, EQUALITY, DEMOCRACY, and LIBERTY, emerged and nurtured this new nation into something welcoming and worthwhile. I am, however, not naïve enough to believe that when we became an independent nation there was an instant sense of KUMBYA because slaves had no freedom, women remained chattel, Native Americans a nuisance, and any other religion than Christianity a secret. But this Republic tried to make a difference, and since that day, some 247 years ago, many a person tried to forge forward, albeit at the consternation of those who believed and to this day, still believe that the only reason for establishing the United States, was and is for the PRESERVATION of the Caucasian Race, and the furtherance of Crusading for Christ, not anyone’s Christ, but the Christ adored by white Evangelicals.

 

AS I SEE IT, as an American who has been categorized as Jewish, Homosexual, and Educated, America should no longer be a safe place for me, because, of how I pray, who I love, and what I know. In two days we will place American flags on our property, light fireworks, sing the National Anthem,  pound our chests, and pretend that somehow our shit does not stink.  And I must wonder, AS I SEE IT,  how much will WE THE PEOPLE, permit HYPOCRICY to run rampant before we realize the truth?

No, Nope, please do not say, as a Republican you can no longer support Trump, because, well he is a loser, but in the same breath insist that DeSantis is your choice because you think he is NOT A LOSER. Please stop your Bull Shit schtick pretending that Joe Biden is too old to remain in office, saying that age matters, when in fact, President Biden has done more for demographics at risk, minorities, people of color, the LGBTQ community, and oh yea the white folks who need social security, Medicare, infrastructure, fair wages, and access to fair prices on drugs.

 

Please be honest, and just say, you support a Homophobe, a Bigot, a Racist, and a Fascist, that way you will at least BE HONEST, instead of a lying sack of shit!
