“Pressure has been growing on lawmakers to resolve the impasse, which was sparked last month by Democrats’ demands for more restrictions on immigration enforcement agents. Republicans have a 53-47 majority in the Senate, but 60 votes are needed to advance most legislation. 60 votes to end the disaster at the airports, 60 votes to place some restrictions on the lawlessness and unconstitutional actions of ICE agents. 60 votes to finally say to the American citizen, with all of the other shit we, the Congress, in conjunction with the wishes, whims, schemes, and cons Trump has placed on you, we will do the fair thing the correct thing for YOU and bypass the machinations of a senile malignant narcissist.
But so far, all that the Republicans have demonstrated is that American pain and suffering from issues of affordability, an illegal war, and an expensive health system, and a concerted effort to void voting rights, to please, or is the word I am searching for to please Trump, is the real priority.
47 Democrat Senators, minus perhaps Fetterman of Pennsylvania, who seems to fade in and out of true reality, and add to that 12 or 13 Republican Senators, who must first climb out of Trump’s ass, is all that is needed to at least take down the heat on yet one more anxiety-riddled America. But here we are, instead of what is best for the rest of us, it seems that the Republicans prioritize what is best for their own careers!
