Congratulations, Rush Limbaugh, you have done what so many conservative idiots have wanted to achieve, by bribing a gay queen, Sir Elton John, into joining your homophobic brigade of hate. You are a smarter man than I even gave you credit for, Rush, you knew that gluttony and greed were essential tools in getting Sir Elton to give up on any moral or ethical values. By offering his highness a million dollars to sing at your wedding, the fourth for you, I believe, you have shown that even a gay icon could care less about right from wrong.

Wow, hypocrisy runs rampant in both the hetero and homo world. Say one thing and do another. Preach hate or honor but do as you wish because it suits your needs. Rush, no wonder you are a king among the self loathing lemmings of this world, you have trumped a queen with the offer of cash.

Now, I just wonder how you will sell this to your minions who self victimize, who base their hate on Jesus's word, who are jealous of the freedom they perceive the homo's have? Will you not mention the whole absurd idea of having a gay married man sing at your wedding? Have you told Sir Elton to remain mum about the whole thing until after he gets the million dollar fee?

I noticed that no one from the holier than thou, Family Values Commission has commented on your fourth marriage. Is that because the rule of the double standard is in place? You know the rule, the one that goes as long as you hate gays, no matter what you do in your life sacrosanct? The rule that says, the louder you protest against gays the better Christian you become? I wonder, Rushie, can I call you Rushie, did you also offer Sir Elton some Oxycontin?

I believe in God. My faith guides me and is the basis for which I count on to count on doing the right thing. My family knows about my beliefs and my friends understand that many of my actions are based on a concept I derive from the God I worship.

If you ask me to discuss my relationship with God I shall. If you ask me to talk about my understanding of my Jewish religion, I will. If you ask me to say that MY religion is the one true religion, I won’t.

It seems there is a movement in this country to make God and the Bible more important and more relevant that perhaps the President and the Constitution. It seems that the more insecure, unsure, unnerved we become, we want to become a nation based on the rules and regulations of religion. It seems that the division of church and state from which this country was formed is becoming less relevant and that many believe that there is one true religion for all Americans.

The city of Ontario California has unanimously agreed this week to add the words “In God We Trust” to the display of the city’s seal in the council chambers.

Interesting! Yes the “In God We Trust became the nation’s motto when it was approved by Congress in 1956. And yes it is seen throughout the many parcels belonging to the federal government. And yes, many do trust in God.

But which God are they referring to? Is it the Jewish God Adonai, or Buddha, or Muhammad? Is it Mother Nature or Science the Angel Maroni? And what about those who do not trust in God because they are sure he/she does not exist?

Do we trust in the God who has decided that equal rights for Gays and Lesbians should not exist? That same God who somehow is a politician and votes against Gay Marriage, Gay Adoption, The repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. Is it the same God that Aryan Nation believes on the insistence of the white race? Is it the same God who seems to shout to the Black community, it was terrible to segregate the blacks in this country, but okee doekey to segregate the LGBT community? Is it the same God that established the Institution of Marriage, but made separate rules for heterosexual adulterers than loving homosexuals? Is it the same God that permits the Vatican to make excuses for the torment and distress caused by priest and bishops, but permits the Catholic Church to immediate excommunicate a Nun for saving the life a mother with four children?

And I wonder, is it the same God who we are told is grand and glorious but is so weak that if we do not force his/her praise on everyone, he/she will become feeble and fall from grace?

In God I do trust. But if you don’t then you don’t. The God in which I trust just needs my support because like my God I am unique. The God in which I trust is not looking to punish or separate, or find enemies, my God in inclusive, and anyone who wants to share in my God’s love can and will.

Why does it seem the louder you proclaim God the more exclusive and threatening you become? Why is that the more you say you pray to God the less of God’s will you perform? Why is it that one must believe and trust in God?

There are changes happening in this country and we all had better take heed.

Honest errors. Mistakes made and corrected because the erroneous commentary is not true, never was meant to be true, and no matter how you sort it, is simply put, a lie.

In the Land of Lincoln, Illinois, a state besieged with corrupt politicians GOP Senate Candidate Mark Kirk has been caught in a lie. He has culled his red white and blue patriotic misinformation and has told the public, via his website, printed materials, video, that he (Kirk) was the only member of Congress to serve in the US-led Iraqi invasion that began in 2003. It seems that Mr. Kirk, a member of the Navy Reserves served stateside and never hit the dusty roads of Iraq. Mr. Kirk also stated in various publications and talk shows that he served in the conflict.

Mr. Kirk had plenty of time to correct his fabrications (say from 2003 to the present), but not until some wise reporters did a little discovery, did Mr. Kirk and his horde of campaign advisors, decide to speak publicly about the mistruth. Of course as is the case with many politicians, they never admit to an honest error, but insist what they said originally was taken out of context or misunderstood. Of course they then blame the other camp for misconstruing their own words, and try so hard to become a victim, victimized by others. Imagine if he Mr. Kirk is lying about his military career, the amount of phony he will provide the electorate of Illinois, should they decide that his Tea Bagger roots are more important than the truth!

Then there is Sarah Palin. She is a woman who discounts honesty, romanticizes the ridiculous, ridicules sense and sensibility, and cares very little for fact or factual. She is surrounded by legions of losers who love her hate, bigotry, and loose lips. If there is record of her pronouncements on tape, in print Sister Sarah pouts purses her lips, and announces some evil doer is out to get her and has taken anything she has said or done out of context.

Sister Sarah has dramatically stated “drill baby drill” anywhere and anytime. She has made it clear that drilling is the answer to Americas need for energy and has denounced anyone who disagrees as a commie, anti American or a democrat. Sister Sarah also made it perfectly clear in her Ms Wasilla voice that we don’t need time to study the safety issues of drilling on land or in the deep oceans, and the longer we hesitate the more those darn Arabs will become richer and richer. She is on record, on video in print chanting her mantra of “drill baby drill”.

But now that we have drilled baby drilled and the issue of safety, or study, of backup was never addressed Sister Sarah is once again lying. Not one to EVER admit to an honest mistake, pathetic Palin is now stating she was misunderstood, her enemies are to blame for taking her out of context, the environmentalists are the ones who want to drill baby drill. And as in the case of Mr. Kirk from Illinois, the Tea Bag Brigade and the slew of weasely Republican politicians deny the reality of truth and act as victims.

I amaze at how the Republican politicians the Tea Bag Bagger Brigade avoid the truth. I am astonished at how the very words or actions of the Tea Bagger Brigade and Republican candidates are ignored. I am aggravated that the same people, who say they stand for God, Justice, Honesty, and Good allow their candidates to lie, misrepresent, deny the truth. I am appalled that not one single Tea Bagger or Republican politician ever admits to an honest mistake, apologizes for his/her lies, and says I was wrong.

Who are becoming in this great nation when we permit the liar to lie, and never own up to the truth?

I decided to take a vacation during the Memorial Day weekend, visit my best friend in San Francisco and while away, not to listen to or watch anything that had the word news in front of it. I am addicted to the news and politics and wanted to try weaning myself from the current events and issues which plague this nation. I was going cold turkey and had to discover if I had the will power to just ignore the ranting and ravings which drive me crazy.

It was hard not to catch a few minutes of a “talking head”, or some 30 second catch phrase, or some lopsided machination of some politician trying to place fear and loathing in the minds of a few lemmings. But I managed to avoid the news and actually lived a quiet and peaceful four days without too much angst and anxiety.

Then I returned home and like a good addict I needed my fix, so I read and watched, listened and gleaned, and much to my surprise nothing about the news changed. It was as if the news was in a time warp and the like the movie Groundhog Day, it seemed to repeat and repeat itself.

The oil from the Deepwater Horizon disaster is still spewing and spawning goo gunk and political contamination. The President is still acting a little like George Bush with his brief visits to Louisiana making loud noises about this spill but still permitting a for profit corporation to remain in charge. The bit of difference in this epic disaster is that BP Chief Executive Officer Tony Hayward is now beating his breasts and saying HE wants HIS life back and pledges to do whatever it takes (as long as it does not affect BP’s bottom line to remedy the eruption). Mr. Hayward also, now proclaims perhaps BP could have done more to prepare for a deep water oil leak like the one in the Gulf. This is still the same company who told the public it had all kinds of procedures in place for deep water drilling. But then no one in the government from the Bush/Cheney dictatorship or the Obama administration urged BP to demonstrate the fail safe safety procedures they swore were in place.

Sarah Palin is still screaming drill baby drill, but drill on land, and ‘Dickie’ Cheney the king of the oil cartel has still remained silent. Political fingers are still being pointed outward, and no ONE still, is talking about alternate fuels for the energy needs of this nation.

And once again as is the case for all disasters in this country, (health, financial, energy, education), politicians are still taking to their soap boxes and swearing change will surely arise from this terrible event. (How long will it take for amnesia to reclaim the meaningless rhetoric?)

The Catholic Church is still hollering ‘holier than thou’ epitaphs at others behaviors never once admitting to their own failure to follow up with criminals and crime. This time Bishop Olmsted of the Phoenix diocese, and the Vatican have decided to excommunicate Sister Margaret McBride and the ethics committee of St. Josephs Hospital for permitting the saving of a life of a mother who would surely have died had she not had an abortion. According to the Bishop and the Vatican a “direct abortion” is wrong, no matter the circumstances. Excommunication is the step taken, according to the doctrine of the Catholic Church when human life or human dignity are ignored and denied. Following the insanity of this directive a mother of many children could die and her human life taken is of lesser value than her unborn child; all of this while the dignity taken from the innocent boys and girls though the vile actions of Priests and Bishops as they were molested and abused their flock is of less importance of value. The Vatican still has admitted no wrong doing by its employees as it pertains to molestation, but the Vatican is still jumping on the high and mighty bandwagon when it comes to abortion and gay rights. How easy it is for the Vatican to point fingers at others and never once look at themselves.

And Sister Sarah is still shouting fire in a theater while quickly exiting the building never once sighting fact or truth. This time around on her Teflon Facebook page Sister Sarah has incited a riot and thrown terrible tirades against a journalist/author, Joe McGinnis, accusing him, through innuendo and fabrication of leering and spying on her children. Mr. McGinnis is writing a book about the power and presence of Sister Sarah in Alaska. He rented a home next to the Palin’s and Sister Sarah has called out the witch hunters to crucify this man. Her accusations based on nothing but her whims and fancies, state that Mr. McGinnis is peering through binoculars at her children. (Ever notice how Palin is always throwing her children in the mix and always complaining that the main street press is attacking her children). Sister Sarah as usual is hiding from current truths and potential truths of the future for fear of being found out a loser and liar, and as is her behavior strikes a preemptive attack on anyone who may discover her failures and failings.

Her minions of morons and clan of hypocrites have now sent Mr. McGinnis death threats and Sarah still uses the term ‘to reload’ when talking about taking care of this unwanted neighbor. And still she manages to insight fear, lie and deny the truth and her low life lemmings still follow every fabrication and fable as if she was the Messiah.

I was away from the trials and tribulations, the truths and consequences, the mindless meanderings and maddening machinations of the news, but the moment I began breathing in the fire and brimstone still became overwrought and outright frustrated. I am still frazzled with the hypocrisy, the double standards, and the self loathing and self victimizations of people who refuse to address the truth. I am still discouraged by the rhetoric which never leads to resolve. I am still disheartened by the grandiose that never gains ground and only garners greed and gluttony. And I am still waiting for truth and justice to prevail.

Short sided sight! Seems that we have become a nation whose only goal is to remedy the immediate and forgo the future. Seems like more bandages are brandished and less homeopathic heaps of help are ever considered or chosen. The right now is a hue and cry; emergency fixes become the method of resolution, and the immediate is the cincher for solving the issue.

Add the selfish fixation of politics and politicians as they stand in place, or worse, as they move backwards as the only progress taken to find solutions. Pontificate on who is wrong, to blame, to scapegoat then speak loud, speak fast, speak incoherently facing your fingers at others and dance a mad jig never really owning up to a remedy. Do a cursory correction, hope the population forgets and never figure out how to find the cure.

We reluctantly pass a law which encourages whistle blowers to come forward and identify the culprit, but seem to never listen to the whistleblower until the evil deed is done. Then we ring our hands passing the buck to someone else for not taking the first hand knowledge when it was first hand and making change. We recite past history finding the details dubious and disastrous make our marketing attempt to disown ourselves from the past only to let the devils in the detail go unnoticed and never acted upon.

What? The record of accidents ignited with the incompetence and disregard for anything but the bottom line from BP was not public notice? What? During the Bush/Cheney dictatorship we had no bid contracts with Halliburton for faulty facilities, mechanics and drinking water in Iraq and Afghanistan learning they could care less about quality? What? Transocean’s history of cutting corners in building rigs and equipment was kept a secret? What? We didn’t have record of drugs, pornography, kickbacks to the MMS from the Oil Cartel? What? No one knew that ‘Dickie’ Cheney held, as one of his first official VP meetings, a private invitation only sortie with his buds the CEO’s of the Oil Cartels? Really? All of this is new?

Then there is public outrage and 'by gosh darn' we are going to make changes, or at least make a lot of noise to make those changes. Is it going to be like allowing Wall Street and the bankers to reform the finance system? Will it be like the Health Insurance Cartel handling Health Care Reform? Is it going to be like the Oil Cartels running the EPA? (In case you answered yes to any of the above you are correct because in the last dictatorship the Bush/Cheney regimen it happened). Too much government was bad because it infringed on the American way, except the fine print also read it infringed on the corporations getting richer. Americans may think they elect the politicians but it is lobbyists who run this country.

President Obama, you inherited so much crap from “mission accomplished” Bush. Why anyone would even want to take on the challenges left behind by selfish, self serving men such as Bush and Cheney is beyond my thinking. But Sir, you wanted the job and promised us change. How about adding insight, foresight and finally stopping the hindsight in dealing with the welfare of this nation.

You are a man of belief so start believing in what is best for this nation and stop playing politics. We all know about the cronyism, kickbacks, lobbyist influence PAC’s that afflict and affect our elected officials and government employees, so don’t act dumb act smart in stopping this flood of greed and gluttony. We had eight years of careless and carefree government how about a government that is careful and caring?

“The facts, ma’am, nothing but the facts”, so said Sergeant Friday on the detective series ‘Dragnet’. The Sergeant was out to solve some crimes and needed the necessary truth to help find the culprit and send them to jail. Most crime shows in the 50’s and 60’s relied on finding the facts, which usually were as solid as granite in knowing right from wrong, good from bad.

Somehow finding facts as this new millennium sprouts and grows is not a priority and far from helping anyone distinguishing truth from lies, good from bad, and right from wrong. Facts don’t count anymore. What becomes real is repeating falsehoods and fabrications, laying a few innuendos, and screaming shrapnel filled epitaphs to drown out anyone who demands honesty.

The great debate on Health Care Reform did not permit reasonable response from resonating much further than the offices of politicians who were either for or against this Bill to pass. When most politicians tried to hold ‘town hall’ meetings harangues of death panels, abortion clinics, sex change operations echoed as loud as the chambers on a pistol when fired. When trying to explain why all Americans would benefit from inexpensive, less restrictive health care, the response was socialism or communism. Because of the influx of fact less falsehoods honest and sincere dialogue never found its way to the tips of people’s tongues. We were told by the Republicans that too much control would hurt the insurance industry from lowering prices for services and informed by the Democrats that the only thing that won’t decrease in sum was the money the lobbyists used to bribe the politicians.

The great recession of the two thousands has devastated this nation and for many of the lower class and middle class families has left a scathing residue of poverty, depression, and emptiness. While many of us participated in spending endless dollars, purchasing our dreams on worthless paper, the people with the titles, like CEO, FOO, and Executives were busy developing a set of guidelines based on lies. We were all told by the professionals in the banking and finance business that more was better. Spending was king, and that there should be no worries because those in charge made big salaries and they making all that money was justification enough for us to spend ours on their make believe products. We were also told that the checks and balances were in place and the Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) was ready in their Teflon capes to protect Americans from any wrong doing.

The oil companies have boasted that they were capable of drilling for crude anywhere and everywhere. Starting with a secret meeting with then Vice President of the US, the CEO’s of major oil companies created a pact of lies in which they said how competent they were in drilling for oil and made up some blueprint of paying off those legislators who might feign concern, and infiltrate the various regulation committees of the government with lies sex and videotape. No one had balls enough to demand the public be privy to ‘Dickie’ Cheney’s private meeting with the oil giants and since he was Captain America most everyone swallowed his pack of mistruths and misconduct. We were more concerned about “Drill Baby Drill” as expounded by quitter half term Governor, Sarah Palin, (who has no need for facts but relies on fable and foible), then we were in finding alternate energy supplies. And now we find that the truth companies like BP espoused like “we have a back up system for failure, or our safety standards are the best,” were wistful fairy tales not ending happily ever after. And the heroes we thought were at the ready to save the day like the Mineral Management Service, (MMS) were lackeys and shills for the oil companies they were supposed to oversee.

And we are told by Family Values groups, the Mormon and Catholic Church, Republican Senators, that separate but equal is the correct way to treat the LGBT community in America. We are told based on selective scripture in the Bible not in the Constitution of the United States that God finds Gays to be the seed of the devil. We are told that the Institution of Marriage is so weak that if same sex couples wed it will fall. We are told by the same heterosexual people who cheat on their spouses, commit adultery that their actions and behaviors do not reflect on the stability of the Institution, but anything Gay will send it tumbling to the ground. We are told by men and women who have not served in the armed forces that the soldier’s marines and sailors who are serving this country will not feel patriotic or brave if they serve with a homosexual. We are told homosexuals make bad partners in the trenches and the dormitories, even the ones winning stars and medals for acts of valor and bravery. We are told that homosexuality is the root cause for pedophilia, but if the priest is a heterosexual and molests a girl it is not really that important. We are preached at that Gays are bad, based on some Biblical or made up American fact.No truth squad needed to justify the hate, just trust that God is on their side (the Tea Baggers, Evangelicals, John Birchers, Neo Cons), all calling themselves God’s mercenaries.

We watch FOX News, we listen to Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and we rally around Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and never ask them why or how or really? We find leaders who divide and conquer, like Karl Rove who rather then find a friend told his Republican co-horts identify the enemy. We pray with religious leaders who ask what would Jesus do, but do the opposite. We use racism, homophobia, elitism, sexism, as truth. We permit our fears, self loathing, and self victimization and bide by them as road maps. We indulge in extremism to constrain any common ground; and we luxuriate in lies to define who we are.

The truth ma’am, ain’t no way we want that because admitting the truth is admitting we, us, as individuals are weak, are fragile, have failed. Better to live on lies in the twenty tens, safer to avoid what is real. And if we ought out the truth perhaps we might have to do the hard work and fix the injustices, the wrongs, and all of that would interfere with some corporation or institutionalized religion. Keep the dumb dumber feed them lies and get them so bloated in falsehoods they either implode or lose consciousness.

Dear President Obama,

I proudly voted for you because you were change I could believe in. You reminded me of JFK, a hero of mine during my years as a teen- ager. Like JFK, I believed that what you said came from the heart, and without knowing me personally you knew enough about me to make a difference, a difference that mattered.

You inherited some awful history left over from two men who believed in no one but their own selfish lives and who felt that the bottom line for the wealthy, the corporations, the greedy and the gluttonous was top priority. You ran for an office telling me that in becoming the president of the United States you would indeed be the president for as many and more and not for the few or fortunate. And I believed you, supported you and voted for you.

There is, I am sure, an agenda of a magnitude beyond belief, of ideas you wish to make into ideals. You inherited 2 wars, a recession, a country divided on what is constitutional what is American what is right and what is left. I am a student of American culture and American history and I realize that the promise is out there, and the reality of making change is sometime easier said then done.

But Mr. President, when it comes to civil rights, to human rights, when it comes to understanding right from wrong, taking time is taking up too much time and the present becomes the past and the unjust acts, remain untamed and untouched. Waiting does not allow the change you spoke of so proudly and personally to permeate. When you postpone any decision it sounds like political posturing. When you ignore the immediacy of change you become stale and stagnant. When you hem and haw, drag your feet, suppose and assume you derail democracy and you become too much consumed with due diligence and deny dignity.

How long will you wait to reclaim the Gulf from BP? When will you stop this corporation from dancing on the backs of Americans who live from pay check to pay check, who don't hassle over $750 million or $1 billion? When will you act as a leader and stop the bully from bulldozing the innocent, the people who don't have a cadre of lawyers, who don't receive perks from lobbyists, who don't fly on leer jets to pontificate about the environment only to retreat to some penthouse or estate?

How long will it take for you to stop the rhetoric and ruminations about equality for all Americans? When will you stand before America and say Don't Ask, Don't Tell is wrong, that denying gay marriage is wrong, that the LGBT community is not less than? When will fight for all of our rights instead of permitting homophobes to hide behind hypocritical religious dogma?

How can you tell places like Zimbabwe and Uganda that jailing Gays because of homosexual activity is wrong when in this country Gays don't have equal rights. As was the case in the 60's, with the Blacks, Mr. President, separate but equal based on nothing but fear, hate and loathing is NOT EQUAL.

How long will it take you find a plan for immigration in this country? How many more angry white fearful Americans will plot and plan their own lynching mobs and try to convince the cowards that the evil is others? How long will it take you to stop this casting of stones of those who don't look or sound like us? Who is the US we are supposed to be anyway?

President Obama, it was an honor to vote for you, support you. When you ran for President, there was no choice but to elect you to office. Now Sir, with all respect, you are turning into the lesser of two evils. I am so scared of the trauma and drama this country has permitted to take hold. I am worried that the stupid, the racist, the homophobes, the anarchists, the anti freedom brigades are gaining ground. Where has the leadership the promise, the change I so much saw in your abilities and talents gone to?

Enough of the grandstanding speeches, the forgotten promises, the cow towing to the lowest common denominators of bias and prejudice. Make a stand Mr. President, take back the leadership you so adeptly owned in your election. The longer you wait, the more the oil spills, the gay man and woman is denied, the true American is lost. Ignorance becomes king.
