Republicans scramble for a health care plan before premiums explode. Republicans are exploring all sorts of options to address the expiring Obamacare subsidies. But they may not want to enact any of them.
The central question of the debate boils down to this: What should Congress do about the expiring enhanced ACA subsidies? When those credits go away at the start of 2026, premiums for Obamacare enrollees are set to rise dramatically, with some people seeing their rates double or even triple. (MS NOW).
Déjà vu. Or Republican voodoo? We have been there before, here we are once again, and all the while that the BS is being staged in both the House and Senate regarding American Healthcare, millions of Americans will either go without health care at all, or will have to prioritize housing costs, the cost of purchasing food, and trying to decide if they can afford heat this winter.
And those who have socialized health care (the House and Senate receive free, paid-for, and very high-quality health care thanks to socialism) pretend that when they signed that Big Bull Shit Trump Bill, that it did not include rising costs for the rest of Americans. The Republicans gleefully celebrated the Bill, ignoring the fact then, that the price of Health Care was on the rise. And now, of course, with no time to spare, the same Republicans feign worry and provide tons of sound bites acting as if they ever did or suddenly do give a shit!
