How much? That might be the chapter if American history books are still written in the future. How much money did it take Republicans to permit the lack of due diligence, the disrespect for the “checks and balances” our democracy has craved and survived upon, the ability to permit Putin to declare war on our nation and not fire a single shot back at the enemy? How much money was enough for McConnell, Ryan, Preibus, and every single Republican politicians who has either remained silent, or has purposely played puppet allowing an idiot, a narcissistic deranged black hole, a liar and a traitor to sit in the White House. How much…
And why, oh yeah the next question no one seems to be begging to be answered? Was it to fill the Supreme Court with ideologues, activist judges who derive pleasure from denying civil rights, equality and freedom of choice? Was it to let the poor pay the taxes for the rest of the nation so the wealthy could continue to live off the fat of the land for free. Was it because, any Republican worth is or salt understood that without the payoff from Putin, the gerrymandered districts, the restriction of voter rights, no one from the grand Old Party could or would ever be elected? Or was it just a disdain for democracy, a craving for fascism, we know it really wasn’t to bring Christian values to this nation, unless the only Christian thou shall not values you care about are thou shalt not have same sex anything and thou shalt not permit women reproductive rights…
And then there is the stupid factor. Who knew so many Americans loved shooting themselves in their own feet. Who knew there were so many insecure Americans as to believe having the OTHER as the enemy made them somehow safer or superior. No need for facts for the stupid, just innuendo, bigotry, and of course a snake oil salesmen who will not only watch as you drink the kool-aid, but laugh as you begin to choke and die from it. And when, JUST when do we get the last laugh a Trump/Kushner/Bannon/McConnell/Ryan all go to jail, and locked up behind some Great Wall, the one which will finally keep us safe from our own home grown and of course pampered terrorists!
