Lawmakers in both chambers return Monday for their final legislative week of the year, and House Republicans are preparing their first attempt to address the looming deadline. It’s likely to fail. Sometime this week, the House will vote on a GOP-crafted health care package that — notably but unsurprisingly — doesn’t include any extension of the enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies. (MS NOW)
I am not being my usual snarky self, but I am writing this BLOG in earnest. Why is it, and how come it is that Congress can take its vacation, while leaving the rest of America in a lurch, having not completed their responsibilities in finalizing laws that significantly impact the health and welfare of Americans.
The boys and girls of the Congress think that We The People are just saps, idiots who are only a pain in the ass, as they act as royalty, and seem to have little time to do their jobs. I thought that Congress was supposed to be the one working for the People, but it always seems that Congress is the owner of the People!
It is ridiculous that Congress somehow expects that they should take a vacation, while millions and millions of Americans suffer the consequences of their political inaction!
