I just listened to the LA Superintendent of schools, explain, she is sorry that LA had to close its schools, and along with that Libraries, Community Centers, or other places in which the kids who would otherwise be in school during the day, have nowhere else to go but remain home. Then, when asked who will watch them, the LA Superintendent, said she is there will be some regrettable consequences, which will mean either parent will remain home from work, or NOT. And if those parents are hourly workers, or work in an industry without sick leave, well, as the Superintendent of LA said, choices had to be made. So here you have it LA and other cities for which there will be no school during the workday, REGRETTABLE CONSEQUENCES… sorry poor Americans, Americans on the poverty line, single-parent families, your Mayor’s regret that you will face consequences. Not a bad idea to cancel school with all of this medical jargon of SOCIAL DISTANCING,” being the lowest hanging cure for the moment…but in the midst of closing the schools, one might have hoped, the six figured Superintendents, and Mayors, and Council People, might have spent a little more time on the CONSEQUENCES, to the families, who do not enjoy the same perks as the government officials who have decided, it is REGRETTABLE! Sorry, America, I do not buy into trying half-assed to solve a problem by creating a secondary situation…but FEAR, PANIC, and a President who takes no responsibility to take precedent!

To no one’s surprise, and yet to most everyone’s dismay, the following quote, from the hacked into office reality show entertainer, Putin Puppet, voted into office with the help of those who just hated Hillary so much so, they cared less about knowing nothing at all of the lack of competence let alone intelligence level of Trump…“No, I don’t take responsibility at all,” Trump said about his administration’s lag in rolling out coronavirus tests, adding, “We were given a set of circumstances...it wasn't meant for this kind of an event with the kind of numbers that we're talking about." And that sums it up America. Trump could give a shit, never gave a shit, and thought he could escape yet one more heinous moment of horror happening to this nation. And to think that the GOP Oligarchs in the Senate had the REAL opportunity to Impeach this idiot, no Impeach this jerk, no Impeach this treasonous traitor, but decided their job security was more important than the security of this nation! No one expected TRUMP, to take responsibility, but who actually can we turn to, TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY!!!!! 

Duck and Cover

It was the 1950’s, the Cold War, was at the freezing point, and as an elementary school student,  going to a Pittsburgh Public School, we were a part of two government-sponsored iterations of health, welfare, and safety. Jonas Salk, a Pittsburgh scientist, and the professor was developing the Polio Vaccine, and the students in the Pittsburgh Public Schools became the Beta group, for which the vaccine was tried. The days of the Polio vaccine testing deemed like horror riddled moments, as I recall, because the moment the front door opened, there was this odor of rubbing alcohol, and nurses perfume, and the clanging of boxes of needles.  That bit of government intervention proved to be promising, and I know now, that the angst and anxiety of a school-age kid, was well worth, the three seconds of fear, of the shot. The Government wanted to SAVE lives, had permitted a scientist, an educator, handle an illness, and kept all politics out of the entire scenario.

It was the 1950’s the Cold War was at a freezing point almost at the point of creating a new Ice Age, and ever since the invention of the Atomic Bomb, being used to stop the Japanese, most nations discovered, that instead of that weapon neutralizing a world at war it could indeed help to conquer the world! So in the city of Pittsburgh, the same elementary students used as Beta recipients for the Polio Vaccine, we also were used as dumb as shit Americans, by our government, with a plan to hide under our desks whenever we heard the Air Raid Sirens ringing, warning us that the Russians were coming to drop the BOMB. In our school, we called it the RETENTION DRILL. Unlike our typical Fire Drill alarm, the RETENTION DRILL was a noise, a long hammering gnawing moan  which rang for about 5 seconds, started immediately after that and rang this time for a quite longer length of time.  If we were in our classrooms, Retention Drill ordained kids would use the long wooden sticks to push up the windows and pull down the curtains. The teachers would clap her hand (we had maybe one or two male teachers back then, OMG it was the 50’s.) and all students would duck and cover under our desks, placing one hand over our heads, and the other to cover our eyes.  After the Retention Drill, and our little hearts stopped beating out of our lungs, the principal would announce over the intercom, “this was just a test,” and by ducking and covering if the real bomb dropped over Pittsburgh we would  all be safe and able to visit our families.

I only mention these two stories NOW, not for nostalgia purposes, but as a lesson from history, one learned and one ignored by the worst person in the universe, the American public could have as Commander-In-Chief! With the advent and onset of Polio, the government was pro-active, didn’t wait until the numbers of cases met some egocentric/narcissist/sadistic standard to be considered fact. And as with “the duck and cover,” bull shit hiding under our desks, this government is playing us fools, by not explaining the truth about yet another deadly attack on this government, and how to prevent dying from it, the Covid-19 virus. Imagine, the government understanding that the power of the Atomic Bomb was devastating, but pretending by JUST saying go about your day, all will be well. Now imagine Trump telling Americans, “don’t worry, be happy,” there is nothing to see here! 

On the Beach

I can only imagine Dumber Trump Junior sitting in the Oval Office delivering this speech, as an even more worst-case scenario for the leader of this nation, to dumb fuck at the least and total fuck up at the most, a now identified Pandemic, providing no clue to any listener, (except if you wear either a Red Cap of White Hood,) as to what exactly the Covid-19 is comprised off, what to watch out for, how to get tested (for free) for the disease, and how to receive treatment (for free) should you acquire this virus. I heard nothing but raving reviews for our economy, yet another chance for Trump Hospitality Industries to make even more money from the Tax Payer, and how if you inhale drugs before making any kind of speech trying to evoke empathy or even sympathy you look like a robot, a dumb as shit robot, at the Disneyland Hall of presidents, with major glitches in your electrical currents. Today, is Thursday, March 12, 2020, and we as Americans have tolerated yet another day of total incompetence to forge ahead, taking us closer and closer to a bottomless pit! 

SNORT

SNORT, try to read words with more than one syllable…SNORT again…say nothing but pat yourself on the back, and brag we have the best economy….SNORT again, praise the ban on the Chinese People, overlook the cargo, and the workers delivering the cargo, plus any Chinese product, produced by Ivanka’s slave labor force…SNORT again, mispronounce a few words, choke again on reading from the teleprompter, words someone else wrote and you had no idea were there or what they meant…Talk about the Great Economy under your leadership or is it Corruption…have no physical effect as you say words like compassion, care, concern…SNORT, again…Let America know we will keep the virus out of this nation by banning travel from all of Europe, even countries with less Coronavirus then the US, exempt the UK, because…well, maybe you and Boris Johnson have a thing…SNORT again…mention testing in the US, except be very, very, very obtuse about it, because in fact we have very little testing taking place as it is, and you have no idea, nor want money to be spent on that because YOU cannot make a buck from any of that…SNORT some more…and WE The People, suffer your inability to comprehend, anything but what will make you a King.  Great waste of time, and sadly maybe lives, TRUMP!

Charlie Chaplin played the role of Hitler, in the 1940 movie The Great Dictator/screenplay Charlie Chaplin)  It's startling in its depictions of violence, which stand out less for their outright brutality than for how memorably they depict the Nazis’ betrayal of everyday humanity. And so, as the public, in their typical inhuman-kind, hoard hand sanitizers/toilet paper/house cleaning products, and as the Trump Brigade of Puppets parade in front of the cameras, never answering questions directly, but pretending they HAVE the answers…SOMEWHERE, in SOME hidden vault of how to be a responsible Government Leader…we get the Great Dictator, who instead of starting life as an actor, began his career as a Grifter then a Reality TV Star (making Grade D movie star co-presidents Nancy and Ronnie, look like Academy Award winners.) once again empty of facts, but full of fiction and living in HIS own PERFECT world, FUCK UP! THEY

They will indeed follow, as the rats did with the Pied Piper, and as lemmings do when there is no one with a brain to lead them, fall off the cliff…THEY, being a new kind of creature called MAGA…so far, THEY believe the Coronavirus is a Liberal ploy, or plot, a Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer inspired gimmick to remove all of the valuable acts, initiated by Trump. THEY also, think (in spite of the fact that the CPAC douchebags became instantly vulnerable to an infected Covid-19) it is not something real Americans can get. THEY have no idea even their savings, and medical care, and public or private schools, market places, banks, and savings will be impacted, one way or another by Covid-19.  The MAGA will “Zeig Heil,” and goosestep to their own death’s because somehow all of them have drunk the Jonestown Kool-Ade, and think because Trump hates the same people as they do he is the GUY to believe in!

Here is the thing, for me, and sad I must admit it…at first call, I could give a shit if each and every racist/bigoted/homophobic/anti-Semite/misogynistic/”Good Nazi,” KKK, 1% American Oligarch came down with Covid-19…but then FUCK, they are everywhere so in turn that would mean the rest of us could become contagious too. So, now I have to hope, someone Trump realizes that aside from Wall Street, Main Street needs assistance (and no not in the form of tossing paper towels!) So I am finding myself with quite the conundrum of empathy, sympathy, and goodwill. I know, if this was only considered a Gay/Jewish/Strong Female/Immigrant /People of Color Disease, most MAGA’s would shout and cheer…I don’t want to become one of THEM…but damned if I am not thinking about it!
