I just listened to the LA Superintendent of schools, explain, she is sorry that LA had to close its schools, and along with that Libraries, Community Centers, or other places in which the kids who would otherwise be in school during the day, have nowhere else to go but remain home. Then, when asked who will watch them, the LA Superintendent, said she is there will be some regrettable consequences, which will mean either parent will remain home from work, or NOT. And if those parents are hourly workers, or work in an industry without sick leave, well, as the Superintendent of LA said, choices had to be made. So here you have it LA and other cities for which there will be no school during the workday, REGRETTABLE CONSEQUENCES… sorry poor Americans, Americans on the poverty line, single-parent families, your Mayor’s regret that you will face consequences. Not a bad idea to cancel school with all of this medical jargon of SOCIAL DISTANCING,” being the lowest hanging cure for the moment…but in the midst of closing the schools, one might have hoped, the six figured Superintendents, and Mayors, and Council People, might have spent a little more time on the CONSEQUENCES, to the families, who do not enjoy the same perks as the government officials who have decided, it is REGRETTABLE! Sorry, America, I do not buy into trying half-assed to solve a problem by creating a secondary situation…but FEAR, PANIC, and a President who takes no responsibility to take precedent!
