As the government shutdown continues, over 40 million Americans who depend on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits to afford healthy food will go without on Nov. 1, according to the USDA.
"Bottom line, the well has run dry," a message on the USDA website reads. "At this time, there will be no benefits issued November 1."
However, it's important to note that, as HuffPost reported, "The US Department of Agriculture has a special fund to help supplement the program in an emergency, [but] the agency said on Friday it won’t use it during the shutdown." (Buzz Feed)
Trump is such a sad egomaniac narcissist that there is no way he will ever admit defeat, so he will continue to fuck anyone around him who disagrees with his insane and selfish decisions. Trump, I believe, thinks that the people who will suffer from the SNAP cuts are all Democrats, or people of color who, since Trump is a racist, assume they do not deserve any help from his government.
The silence from the majority of Republicans in Congress is just as deafening as are the pronouncements from Trump that he gives zero shits. And amazingly, the Republicans who were voted into office by the MAGA are pretending that it will be many of the MAGA who will suffer the consequences of their idol, Trump.
And while Trump demented mind continues to play game with the health and welfare of Americans...and as an estimated $300 million is being funneled into Donald Trump's 90,000-square-foot White House ballroom; Kristi Noem is spending about $170 million on two new jets for the DHS; and there are reports alleging Trump may demand the Department of Justice pay him $230M in compensation for the federal investigations into him.
