Whack on the side of the head!

While I was getting ready for work this morning, listening to NPR, I had a “whack on the side of the head” moment as they expounded upon the successes of Sarah Palin and also the newly elected Republican aka Tea Bag Party candidates.

Sister Sarah, yesterday, began to share her views on the Federal Reserve and it’s participation in the economic recovery or lack of recovery. I have determined that Sister Sarah must have a savvy group of educated helpers who actually do read more than the Wasilla Gazette and who can see more than Russia from their front steps. Sister Sarah must also have a translator to decipher words with more than two syllables and words that sound so Washington-ey and Government-ey and educated-ey and this same person must spend frustrating hours teaching Sister Sarah how to pronounce them and place them into one of her runny and endless sentences.

I am convinced that Sister Sarah is making a move for the nomination of President, and has to sound more intelligent than the perception of her former (prior to making millions) self and show some kind of insight as to the business of government. She has the sarcasm, the, I could care less patronizing voice and the wink down pat, but she needs to sound somewhat informed, but not too informed as to make the less intelligent lemmings of the Tea Party think Sister Sarah has an Ivy League education or even a high school diploma.

Sister Sarah when not on the Discovery Channel or a hired comedienne for FOX Pac News or sitting in the audience of Dancing with the Stars, or inciting people to use their second amendment rights if the ballots don’t work is canvassing the crowd for more Mama Grizzlies and more Moose Hunting Soccer Moms to promote her desires to be President. But her most successful attempt at reaching out to the millions of morons who want easy answers, less responsibility, more choices to blame others for their own short comings is her hiring of a ‘20 something’ individual to Tweet her inane and irresponsible responses to current events. Sister Sarah (or her handlers) has discovered a gold mine in communication via Twitter. Keep it brief, keep it cryptic, and keep it coming. How 2010!

The “whack on the side of my head” moment is just that…why don’t the Democrats stop trying to tell the whole story when slang, short hand and short sightedness work better, quicker and deliver the needed results with greater success. Most Americans are always in a hurry, too few want more than a 30 minute segment on any issue and most people never want a point just a point of view. Sister Sarah is a whiz at doing nothing but making nothing seem so important. She can, with a quick Tweet diminish any fact and replace truth with innuendo. When this tactic is employed by Sister Sarah and her Palinettes, the Dems then in defense have to roll out their talking heads and provide a very bored society with a dissertation that make many roll their eyes and change the channel. And the best thing about the Tweet is if it is found to be wrong it can be deleted as if it never ever once was written. Speak the lie, lie you ever said the lie and let the lie linger in the minds of those who care little or less about facts and real. Duh!!!!! Who knew the Palin army of reclaiming America was so bright?

And speaking of lies, I am sure many of us remember months when the only topic on the tips of the tongues of Americans was Health Care Reform. One group of legislators and politicians the Dems, were trying to present to the American public the facts about this new Health Care Initiative. Another group of elected officials and their millionaire silent supporters were busy debunking any truth and using any kind of lie and fabrication to misguide and foil any attempt in honest discourse. Mandatory abortions, death panels, health care for illegal’s were promoted and primed by all sorts of Republicans none based on truth all based on fear, loathing and falsehoods. And the Health Care Bill was delayed, demolished and weakened. Those who needed no more than a holier than thou soap box preacher to persuade or dissuade them found great company in the likes and lies of Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh and the assorted nest of vultures of Republicans and Blue Dog Dems. And the lies prevailed.

And the arrogance for truth by the Republicans aka Tea Party Brigade continued.

There was the speech by Shirley Sherrod at the NAACP benefit being deliberately edited to create the illusion Ms Sherrod a government employee was practicing anti white racism. There were the selected videos released by two conservative activists using hidden cameras to elicit damaging responses from low-level employees of ACORN in advising the two activists (dressed as a pimp and his ‘ho’) how to hide prostitution activities and avoid taxes. And there was the claim by Governor Jan Brewer of Arizona that rising violence along the US Mexico boarder has led to headless torsos turning up in the desert with the culprits being all the illegal Mexicans coming to Arizona.

And as Sister Sarah would say, ‘doncha know’ it worked, the lies and fabrications causing all kinds of knee jerk reactions and responses about the mistruths and suddenly non issues became prime time news targets. And the Republicans aka Tea Bag Brigade controlled the news and set the priority for discourse and discussion. They were able to create problems and never once held responsible for fixing any problems whatsoever.

Another “whack on the side of the head” moment for me, the Dems should follow the course of the other side of the aisle colleagues and just shout out loud unreal problems and embellish them move on to the next phony bull shit item when pressed for facts and call it news and news worthy. Just make the damn thing up as they go along remembering that if it is found to be false they can blame all the incorrect facts on the “lame street” conservative press.

If only I had come to these “whacks on the side of my head” prior to the mid term elections and sent them to the Democratic National Committee we would not be facing a Congress of people bent on bullets instead of ballots, creating hearings on Obama’s birth certificates, debunking global warming, letting the rich remain rich and isolating any and all minority groups. Who knew Sister Sarah and her gang of Tea Bag Goons were so damn creative and smart. Duh!!!! Fight on Progressives no truth all lies. New slogan for President Obama, “lies you can believe in”.

The and Now

Supposedly those who came out to vote were mad as hell and not going to take it anymore. Spurred on by the riches of their millionaire donors the vast majority of Tea Bag Republicans and Independent voters provided a message to stop socialism, and begin to govern for the people by the people. Make sure anything affecting the commerce of big business, the profits of big corporations were not stymied said the underwriters of the grass roots groups. And certainly make certain that silly rules and regulations that might help a healthy life do not impede the healthy profits for shareholders. And above all stop the bipartisan bickering created by the overwhelming support of the Democrats in the past two elections, by making it a majority republican government as in the good days of Bush/Cheney.

Then:

We want to take the majority in both houses so we can make some semblance of the chaos that took place when the population overwhelmingly voted us out the first time. We know what needs to be done and hard to admit we made a few (tiny, teeny) mistakes the first go round and if we get elected again, we promise you we will be the voice of the people. We know Harry Reid may seem to reach out to the Republicans but he is a soldier of Obama and even though Obama asked for input and we didn’t provide him with anything but hell no, he really didn’t mean to reach out to the other side of the aisle. We want to work together with our rules.

Now:

Senator Mitch McConnell, the minority leader, in an impassioned — and confrontational — speech, said Thursday that ousting President Obama was the “only way” to advance the Republican agenda.

“The White House has a choice: they can change course, or they can double down on a vision of government that the American people have roundly rejected,” he said. “On health care, that means we can — and should — propose and vote on straight repeal, repeatedly. But we can’t expect the president to sign it. So we’ll also have to work, in the House, on denying funds for implementation, and, in the Senate, on votes against its most egregious provisions.”

“We will vote to freeze and cut discretionary spending,” he added. “We will fight to make sure that any spending bill that reaches the Senate floor is amendable, so members can vote for the spending cuts Americans are asking for. We will push to bring up and vote for House-passed spending rescission bills.” (NYT Janie Lorber)

Then:

Jobs are job one for the Republicans so said the Tea Bag/Republican candidates as they ran for office in November 2010. Add to that the lowering of the deficit and for the next two years our priorities will be set. We will work hard to address the needs that the voters overwhelmingly asked for in our shellacking of the Democrats. It is about the referendum we received in 2010, not like the one supposedly received in 2008, but the real referendum (because we won), and we will not say NO to any ideas we put forward.

Now:

Darrell Issa -- the chairman-in-waiting of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform -- wants each of his seven subcommittees to hold one or two hearings a week, for a total of seven hearings per week during a 40-week period, he told Politico. That would mean nearly 300 hearings.

Issa's plan of 280 hearings in the next year would nearly triple the average annual number of hearings held by Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA) during the Bush administration.

Issa first laid out his oversight plan in September and has said he's interested in taking a look at ACORN as well as the bank bailout, the stimulus package and possibly health care reform. He has distanced himself from predictions that he'd investigate the job offer former President Bill Clinton made to Rep. Joe Sestak if he were to drop out of Pennsylvania's Democratic Senate primary. And so we begin to reap the rewards from an election based on lies. It was NOT about non partisan government, it was NOT about jobs, it was NOT about consensus…NOPE it was and is about power for ONE political party, no matter the consequences for the American public. Some of us were bothered that the change we were supposed to believe in never materialized. We were tolerant of 8 years of promises and procrastinations but decided that the last two years was just too long to wait. We were duped by savvy marketers, activist Republican appointed Supreme Court Justices, and religious zealots who told us that the American way was being destroyed. And so some of us stayed home to prove a point, some of us voted for the worser of two evils, some of us voted with our biases and bigotries and we elected a majority of people whose agenda is not as it was stated.

So now we have the Republicans aka Tea Baggers calling committees to find the evil that Obama did and is. Instead of wasting any time on finding resolve for the economy or jobs, they want to bring resolve to the reputation of Obama whether with true or truth they conceive from lies. So now the Republican aka Tea Baggers can spend the next 2 years NOT fixing the economy, finding jobs for Americans but keeping their jobs and fining more jobs for their compatriots.

So, many of us threw ‘those damn bums out’ said enough is enough after two years. So, many of us blamed everything and all on the Democrats who at least said yes to somethings and decided to replace them with the guys and gals who said NO to everything. So, many of us fell for promises of smaller government, less government, more compromise, and what we got so far were empty words. so now the agenda for Republicans aka Tea Baggers, is create one witch hunt committee after another, concentrate on refining the word NO, and secretly let the rich get richer as the poor are led to the slaughter house, just in time for 2012.

And we watched as the country turned from blue to red, and will watch as some of us grow rich and others grow poor. Boy, some really smart voters made some decisions that will smart like no ones's business. Ain't life gonna get better!

over the weekend

Awww, the weekend, time to relax, enjoy the world and not have to think too hard. But then thinking too hard is kind of easy if you read the newspaper, watch TV or surf the Internet. I know that most Republican/Tea Baggers never realize that in 2010 we have audio and video that can capture the truth, and when they are found out to be liars, fabricators and dealers of falsehoods they all get so irritable and rattled. Here are three items that came to my attention over the weekend about the truth, the lack of regard for it and the sheer hypocrisy of those who will do and say anything they deem is good for them.

Family Values:

The ever family family values of the WWE the mega corporation owned by Linda McMahon, the Republican/TeaBagger loser in the Connecticut governors race is now on the war path. They are quite dismayed that they and Linda McMahon were shown as sexists, homophobes, and racist, (pick one anti black, anti muslim). Seems that the truth does not set free those who lie about its merits. Linda McMahon’s corporation delights in having women as subservient to their male steroided giants, all wrestlers from Arabland are cheaters and terrorists, and a good black man has to earn the title of good from his white compatriots.

Seems the McMahon’s are now on a new warpath to demonstrate to the world, or at least the world that believes that wrestling is not fake, that the Dems have once more taken away what is good about America and are once again destroying family values. They are now issuing DVD’s for purchase for Dad’s to share with son’s the wrestling matches watching one large breasted woman hold the rope for her master, keep her head bowed as he talks or getting on all fours pretending to be an animal. This is a right of passage so say the paid talking heads, a way a man shows his son just how a woman should be treated and not respected. Oh yeah and if she is slapped a little then junior might take note next time his babe says anything without permission. Its a right of passage from Dad to son.

Linda McMahon, thank goodness for caring and smart people was not elected to office, but not just because her private actions of her corporation are sexist, homophobic and racist, but because she also forgot what minimum wage was and wanted to lower it, felt those on unemployment just wanted the easy way out, and thought that government should not get in the way of the profits of big business, sort of like hers at WWE.

And now with the pizzaz and grace the spin machine as funded by the millionaires for the not so grassy grass roots did during the election, they are beginning to rev up their engines of propaganda and mis-truth and blame the Dems for wanting the demise of WWE.

And most likely it will work because the same people who believe Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh believe that dropping a man from a ceiling, throwing him onto a table, applying a joke hold are not tricks but true.

WWE is one place we want to state and define our family values.

Soldier stuff is fun:

There is a new family oriented video game for home use that is a barrel of fun and urges all of us to bring out the soldier in ALL of us. Kobe Bryant, and Jimmy Kimmel are just two (and I am sure well paid celebrities who do a bunch of soldier things), like killing the enemy, throwing grenades, tossing around an Uzi or two and laughing and guffawing while all around them bombs blast and body parts fly. It’s a video game stupid, no harm intended, its a jovial way to just be a soldier. I counted about half a dozen famous faces on this commercial just shooting guns, exploding this and that, and laughing their asses off as they do so.

I counted how many of them, the CELEBS, actually had enlisted in this war or any war to be exact and the number was zero. So I suppose soldiering can be fun if you never have to do anything but sit in front of your pricy television set with your joy sticks in your hand, and have a hell of time.

I wonder how many of those CELEBS have taken time to write a check to the families of the real soldiers who had fun in Iraq and Afghanistan, but now because they are paralyzed, brain damaged, or incoherent can’t play nor enjoy the same soldiering is fun video game? I wonder if any of those highly paid CELEBS, have ever paid condolences to the families of the deceased soldiers because those soldiers had so much fun playing soldier they died laughing?

Wow, playing soldier and doing all those soldier things is a laugh a minute, at least when someone else is at the front lines and you are safe behind your front door.

Turn a holy cheek:

God is so busy hating, according to so many of those who think they speak for him, that I sometimes wonder when does have time to do anything good. He always smiting someone, making sure they are not equal in his love or just smacking them with all kinds of treats one might find at devils home for Halloween.

Enter Archbishop Andre Leonard of Belgium who, wearing his finest Vatican robes surrounded by the freshest of holy water, has stated that AIDS is God’s punishment for being Gay. You defy his God (the Archbishop and the Pope’s) and you will get the scourge like nobodies business.

God has no time for Fags or Queers, nope all God wants is to God Damn them and riddle their bodies with holy bullets of HIV/AIDS. I am sure as all good God fearing homophobes and racist do the Archbishop found the wisdom of his statement in the Bible or from the Pope’s speechwriter.

Must give credit to Andre however, at least in his venomous dissertation from his biles he actually said the word AIDS, not like President Ronal Reagan, (a devout Christian when not reading Tarot Cards with Nancy,) and pretended those thousands of Americans dying were dying because they had no morals or ethics (again from the man of Iran Contra affair.)

No pontifical recall of this Archbishop, just some low level officials who hemmed and hawed and said the man likes to drive against traffic. You are killing me Andre Leonard with your quirky yet Catholic humor. God punishing men and women with AIDS because they are Gay, you are a laugh a minute kind of man and so is your boss the Pope.

We can ignore all of this laugh at the insanity of it, or say some of us are just too sensitive, it’s silly. We could pretend that Family Values, Soldiers dying, AIDS is a part of life and in our own homes we deal with those subject quite well. The problem is ALL of us don’t deal with it and too many of us let it slide.

And if we look the other way then too many of us, over the weekend will just ignore the facts and dance and delight in the fantasy that everything is alright. Is it alright to play soldier and not understand the consequences of those who serve? Is it okay to permit women to be objects and minorities to always play the bad guys? Is it okay to even let a man of the cloth say such blasphemous things even for a minute? I think not, nope, not at all, NEVER.

ENOUGH is ENOUGH

I had made a silent promise to myself, after downing two shots of Tequila the eve of the Mid Term elections and as the President claimed the “shellacking” of Democrats, that I would face this uncertain future with certain positive actions; after all I voted in 2008 for change I could believe in and honestly some of it had happened.

I had sworn a secret oath for myself to take the lies and fabrications the anti American rhetoric, the discrimination, the bigotry and bias of the Tea Baggers/Republicans with some strong grain of salt and to assault the lies with truth, truth, truth. I learned that the one key item in the arsenal of the not so grassy, grass routes millionaires was to fill the airwaves with baloney, bull shit and baseless bogus-try (I made up that word). So, feeling that truth will set you free I placed in MY stash of second amendment rights ammunition a collection of the facts ma’m nothing but the facts. (I believe many of the spineless Dems who lost their races did so because they never admitted to doing something correct, but only acquiesced to doing something wrong as they were attacked by the insane entertainment propagandist of Fox Pac without once fighting back). The truth and the good were on the side of the cowardly Dems, but they permitted sex, lies and videotape to usurp any semblance of sanity.

I watched as Jon Stewart tried to paint the extremes of both left and right as unproductive (even though there was more truth to the harangues from the left than the right), and I listened as even Keith Olberman stated that he would no longer list his worst people in the world because it is better to try and be positive. I said to myself, let the lies live but let the truth live longer, last and linger. I tried, damn it I tried.

But then as I was using the remote to channel surf I came upon a few tidbits of news unrelated to the elections but very much related to the history of this nation. I discovered that George W. Bush, in anticipation of the publication of his memoirs, was to be interviewed on Oprah. And as teasers and mainly for me torments, reporters leaked some of the quotes and commentary from his book.

George W. Bush was hurt that he was called a racist by Kanye West, he would by Executive Order order torture again, and he had a problem with alcohol early in his participation in the Institution of Marriage. These were the tidbits of gossip flowing like lifeless lava from the mouth of the talking heads. And then I had an epileptic fit so great that I am sure I had two grand mull seizures and probably some damage to my brain. And I said to myself, self you are witnessing a duping of America once again, and ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

George W. Bush the author somehow forgot who George W. Bush the President really was. How about an apology to the over 4400 American families whose loved ones died in your war of Weapons of Mass Destruction for never finding weapons but only providing the mass destruction in their lives? How about saying ALL of the proceeds of my book will go to the recovery of the over 500,000 veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan who have been and are being treated in VA hospitals? How about any sympathy for the poor condition of the Vets as they suffer from traumatic stress syndrome and volunteering in helping them with their recovery? How about using the money you raised for the George W. Bush Memorial Library go to the unemployed in this country, those whose jobs have been outsourced those who are not millionaires by helping them with their financial difficulties because of your trickle up tax plan? And how about saying to America your permission in letting Scooter Libby reveal that Valerie Plame was a CIA agent was an act of treason?

It seems many an American, suffering from amnesia during the last election phase decided that the Republicans, aka Tea Baggers could be the heroes to save us from our woes. They forgot of the 8 years of Republican rule and with the swipe of a chad opened the doors to the same bunch of bandits who robbed us blind before. And it now seems those same Americans are going to read, listen and allow a president of shallow and insensitive intentions to rewrite history, using lies, fabrication, fable and folly.

We have to stop the insanity before everyone in the ward becomes the inmate and no one is there to help the patient. Let the lies prevail, but lets all make sure we speak the truth louder than those lies.

ENOUGH has to be ENOUGH, but we have to make sure it is so! All of us!

In the movie The Others where we thought the living saw ghosts but in fact it was the ghosts who saw the living we discovered they were actually afraid of the living because they (the ghosts) found out that in fact they were dead.

Michelle Bachman you are like the others because so far the only people who actually see you are ghosts of americans who want to believe in fear. You like to prey on insecurities and fallacies and never ever rely on truth. You are one transparent ghost.

Your strength it seems is to make sure no truth ever forms from your lips. (Like espousing that when President Obama visits India it will cost the American tax payer $200 million a day for the use of 5 star hotels and one tenth of the naval fleet. When asked how you could possibly know something like that you dumbly stated that it was on the INTERNET. What you failed to mention was that the liars and losers of FOX Pac originated the story and placed it on the INTERNET). I would say that is treasonous! Your party of liars and fabricators has taken over the reigns of government during this mid term election only because the masses of the foolish have followed your folly and the masses of sane and solid stayed home in some form of insane protest.

But we are now seeing you Michelle Bachman, and all of the ghosts and ghouls of the Tea Bag/Republican Party and we are listening to your inane and insane rantings of bias, bigotry and bogus. You are seen by all of us the living who somehow want the facts and no longer prefer fiction.

As a ghost would, Michelle, you scare the living with horrible shrieks and shouts of the sky is filling the President is a Muslim, the Democrats are body snatchers and the President is doing his international responsibilities by spending $200 million. (Can you even count that high)? You have coddled a cadre of self loathing low life lemmings into believing that fact based on fiction is solid and from God, a Christian God at that with blond hair. But watch out Michelle, the real people have begun to become aware and have become wary of your woeful and wrong way.

It seems the party of no and no way, the party of self serving patronizing wealthy wants to make you number four in their leadership of shame. You may have fooled some of the people most of the time Michelle, but look both ways the next time you lie, embellish, forget the truth, cause the living are no longer intimidated by ghosts like you.

You and your party of exaggeration, ignorance, dumb may have fooled the public in 2010, but we are waiting for you in 2012 and will not tolerate your insubordination, Benedict Arnold like behavior, and treasonous ruminations. Smart people (we) of the living are taking a deep breath of fresh air and will exhume the corpses of those ghosts living in a liars limbo.

You may be the darling of those who like to Tea Bag Michelle but Tea Time was and is so 2010.

Sometimes life imitates art. The following is a bit of dialogue from the 1970 film Five Easy Pieces Directed by Bob Rafelson. Written by Carole Eastman and Bob Rafelson:

Dupea: I'd like a plain omelet, no potatoes, tomatoes instead, a cup of coffee, and wheat toast.

Waitress: No substitutions.

Dupea: What do you mean? You don't have any tomatoes?

Waitress: Only what's on the menu. You can have a number two - a plain omelette. It comes with cottage fries and rolls.

Dupea: Yeah, I know what it comes with. But it's not what I want.

Waitress: Well, I'll come back when you make up your mind.

Dupea: Wait a minute. I have made up my mind. I'd like a plain omelet, no potatoes on the plate, a cup of coffee, and a side order of wheat toast.

Waitress: I'm sorry, we don't have any side orders of toast...an English muffin or a coffee roll.

Dupea: What do you mean you don't make side orders of toast? You make sandwiches, don't you?

Waitress: Would you like to talk to the manager?

Dupea: ...You've got bread and a toaster of some kind?

Waitress: I don't make the rules.

Dupea: OK, I'll make it as easy for you as I can. I'd like an omelette, plain, and a chicken salad sandwich on wheat toast, no mayonnaise, no butter, no lettuce. And a cup of coffee.

Waitress: A number two, chicken sal san, hold the butter, the lettuce and the mayonnaise. And a cup of coffee. Anything else?

Dupea: Yeah. Now all you have to do is hold the chicken, bring me the toast, give me a check for the chicken salad sandwich, and you haven't broken any rules.

Waitress: You want me to hold the chicken, huh?

Dupea: I want you to hold it between your knees.

Waitress: Do you see that sign, sir? Yes, you'll all have to leave. I'm not taking any more of your smartness and sarcasm.

Dupea: You see this sign? [He sweeps all the water glasses and menus off the table]

The following is a scene from a 2010 film that may or may not have actually taken place aloud, but has certainly been spoken many, many times between Tea Baggers and Main Stream Americans or according to her holiness, Sarah Palin, lame stream Americans.

Tea Baggers: All I want is the Constitution the way our forefathers intended, hold the newer additions like abolition of slavery Thirteenth Amendment (1865): Abolishes slavery and authorizes Congress to enforce abolition.,And forget the suffrage stuff, ever since that was added the value of families has diminished. Nineteenth Amendment (1920): Prohibits the federal government and the states from forbidding any citizen to vote due to their sex. Women should be at home with their children as God wanted it, except if they are Mama Grizzlies and go hunting. Reverse the Seventeenth Amendment (1913): Converts state election of senators to popular election. We want our own hand picked Senators, who look, and thinks and smell like us. Now that is the Constitution I ordered.

Main Stream: Whose Constitution is that?

Tea Baggers: My Constitution, err I mean our Constitution, the original ONE. The one however that does not have the misquote from Thomas Jefferson, who was one of the original atheist socialists stating there is no official Christian religion in the United States. First Amendment: addresses the rights of freedom of religion (prohibiting Congress from establishing a religion and protecting the right to free exercise of religion), freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly, and freedom of petition.

Main Stream: Does that limit freedoms for some?

Tea Baggers: What it does stupid is limit the size of government. No more Department of Education, home schooling is good--- full of Christian values like creationism not that silly science stuff. Stop social security and unemployment benefits too many old people living off the dole, and too many people living off their high priced unemployment checks. No regulations on corporations or financial institutions, they are the life blood of this nation plus some of those millionaire’s CEO’s have paid for the grass in our grass roots organization. Reverse the Obama Care legislation, no one can tell me to stay healthy plus this IS America and capitalism will dictate the prices we pay for Health Insurance, and if the price is too high I will just go without it. And get rid of that nasty hazy Ninth Amendment: declares that the listing of individual rights in the Constitution and Bill of Rights is not meant to be comprehensive; and that the other rights not specifically mentioned are retained by the people. Too many rights too many government officials getting paid to make sure those rights exist. And to hell with that 14^th Amendment we have too many bogus babies being born in this country by people who cut your head off and leave you to die in the desert. Fourteenth Amendment (1868): Defines a set of guarantees for United States citizenship; prohibits states from abridging citizens' privileges or immunities and rights to due process and the equal protection of the law; And speaking of babies stop abortions and why in the hell should women have the only say in their reproductive rights? They are only women after all!

Main Stream: So you want the original Constitution to be the law of the land, but with some changes?

Tea Baggers: You have not heard a word we said, you Gay loving, immigrant welcoming fascist, commie, ‘pinko’. It is the original Constitution. If you spent any time reading it, you would have known what the founding fathers meant when they created the damn thing to begin with. It’s not what they wrote it is what they meant. It is the intent of their words. This is my country and I am taking it back. Did you not read the writing on the walls with the mid term elections. This is the Constitution I ordered.

Main Stream: Oh!

We voted America and now the menu will include selections catering to and created by the Tea Baggers. You want a Constitution without rights, freedoms, rules and regulations, enjoy the meal. And by the way Main Stream America there is the door if you don’t like it.

Perhaps it is time to start thinking about the next two years and the next four years after that. Just saying…

Don’t you just love when life imitates art!

Last night was, for me, a somber, sobering evening, (It actually was a two shots of Tequila night) as I watched with great reticence the results of the 2010 elections.

Joe, my exceptional partner, (not my husband because some demographics in this nation still function under separate but equal), was not sure if he should tip toe around me, comfort me, let me sulk in the living room in front of the television, or talk politics. He was wise by choosing to listen to me vent and express my outrage nodding in all the appropriate places.

Before we met, Joe cared about politics but with little passion, emotion and anger. Meeting me he began to hear the harangues, listen to the litany, and understand my underlying reasons for arguing against the injustices and arguing for the underdog. He encouraged me to blog about my perceptions and has been a supporter of great magnitude.

And last night for Joe I am sure, was similar to one of those scenes in a horror movie, where the actors hear strange noises in the basement, know something evil is down there, know they should ignore it, but somehow must climb down the stairs and confront the evil. So he sat with me as I watched what I considered the horror as the results came in regarding the “throwing out of the bums”.

As an American I am proud that we do have a chance to demonstrate our differences and indifferences via the ballot box. I am proud that no matter what, we CAN make a change when we feel it is necessary and CAN make corrections in our course when we feel there have been too many detours or dents. But as an American I am not so proud when in fact, fact has become obsolete. It seems that in the past two years fiction and fabrication have become a standard by which truth is told and apparently believed.

Democracy, I was taught is about debate, stating the differences but ultimately centering on consensus. It is to understand where we differ, understand where we can compromise, and permitting some things to have loose ends. But in a debate, even one with emotion, the facts are the key element above that emotion in deciding what is correct.

When we have politicians refusing to answer questions because they are not the questions they want to answer, or politicians who will only settle on one debate for fear they will be misquoted we have politicians whose candidacy is based on fear and fable. How then will those same candidates approach real day-to-day issues relevant for the welfare of ALL Americans when they are elected and actually DO have the power to make change or keep the change made?

Today, reluctantly as I am a news junkie and needed my fix, I listened to NPR on my drive to work as I heard the bragging from the Republican sans Tea Party leadership, the mea culpa from the Democrats and the “what is next” from the journalists. I did feel a bit of revulsion when some of the cocky winners stated the vote demonstrated what Americans truly wanted, and I did feel a bit of “what planet were you living on” when the losing candidate had no idea why they lost. It is the day after the mid terms the first day of the election period for 2012 and a day that does make me sad from my point of view that “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” for a major amount of Americans has been lost.

But I must continue to fight a battle for my beliefs and must not stop in my tracks because my road ahead feels like it has been hijacked.

After watching our 850^th negative ad for some Senate or Governors race in California, Joe turned to me and said “honey soon, soon we will be free, free at last from this bull shit.” He added that my blood pressure will return to its normal and rate somewhere under his breath I am sure I heard him say and so will mine.

For those whose votes helped the group of politicians sweep into office congratulations, for those who feel that the wrong slew of people won, please do not give up or give in. We must and can be heard as hard as it may seem.
