Dr. Sean Conley did not indicate whether the president had recently taken a Covid-19 test and did not say what treatment, if any, Trump is currently undergoing. It was not immediately clear if Trump has tested negative for the coronavirus. In his own personal battle with the disease, Trump has tried to project immortal strength while risking the exposure of people around him, including Secret Service members and his own top aides. To critics, it is yet another example of Trump ignoring the public health risks of the pandemic. The daily rise in coronavirus cases set new records in six U.S. States and worldwide. Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, and West Virginia all had record single-day increases in cases on Friday, according to NBC News Tally.
“It seems we stood and talked like this before
We looked at each other in the same way then
But I can't remember where or when
The clothes you're wearing are the clothes you wore
The smile you are smiling you were smiling then
But I can't remember where or when
Some things that happened for the first time
Seem to be happening again.” (Where or When/Richard Rogers)
Music, it was always running rampant from radios in our kitchen, living room, and the bedroom of my parents. I would visit my favorite Aunt, (My Aunt Meercy, who I thought looked like Doris Day, and provided me with all of the life and opening doors that Auntie Mame did for her nephew), in the 1950’s I knew the lyrics to songs once popular from the ’30s or ’40s. It’s the lyrics my mother and aunt would tell me after they crooned in harmony with their favorite vocalist…no it’s the melody, and the lyrics, they both would then add, still tapping their toes and swaying. Whatever it might have been, the songs sung and replayed reminded my mother and aunt of those mystic moments, when a memory permits a revision of sorts as to the truth, and make-believe, wishful thinking, and thinking full of wishes, that may have come true, might have almost existed, or actually happened!
The dread of the headlines never ceases. The lies, the politicization, the intentional disdain for others, and the true fear of leadership by Trump, who never truly has led, but bullied, combined, NOW with stupid people crawling out from under rocks, caressing ignorance, considering it bliss, is so OVERWHELMING, I have to wonder, how there ever can be anything else but doom! As the latest round of propaganda foments from within the White House, I grow sad and wary. Somehow, as I passed by a photo of my mother with her sister (My favorite Aunt), the song Where or When zig then zagged in my brain, and the last two sentences in the lyrics just decided to lay claim to my brain: “Some things that happen for the first, seem to happen again!”
