 Dear People Of A Certain Age, you know, the so-called Baby Boomers, as a 71-year-old man, I know you, and I experienced along with you, the draw between the lines of the Eisenhower years, the Kennedy/Nixon Debate/ the Cuban Missel Crisis/ the Chicago 7/ the assassinations of men like King and Kennedy/the Turbulent ’60s/the Gay rights movements, and Women’s Rights movements of the ’70s/ the Oil Embargo/Kent State Murders, and more importantly the knowledge that we as young men and women of America, had the ability to change our future, and the verve and drive to make America a place of conscience, and confidence. So, Dear People Of A Certain Age, now in our 60’s and 70’s and 80’s what the fuck has happened to your spirit of purpose, of justice, of the cause of equality. Many were educated in colleges, too many received education on the battlefields in Viet Nam, a politically motivated war, some went to the school of hard knocks, be you white-collar, blue-collar, or just a T-Shirt, you, we, me, understood that we demanded our voices be heard for a change. So, PLEASE, DEAR PEOPLE OF A CERTAIN AGE (like me), why would you even consider voting for a monster like Trump, who has no idea of yours mine and our experiences growing up, because he was nothing but a pampered, spoiled brat, raised without any nurturing, and only survives and survived on a sick sociopathic form of narcissism. Seriously, when did you become so selfish, so easily led astray, so bigoted, so biased, so fearful of the OTHER.

 

Our generation grew up, as the OTHER, the ones who rebelled, the ones who followed orders, and then realized that those orders were nothing but political plots and ploys, schemes, and scams. You loved your country and served in the Military, just to discover, that your country discarded you once the war was over, this nation of which you were the Patriot, disrespected your service. Or you were a protestor, realizing that you had been lied to, you were a pawn, a puppet. Or you followed a status quo, only to discover, the status was for other people’s pleasure, and not your own.

 

YOU, US, ME saw economic boom and bust, we witnessed lies about economies “Trickling Down,” when in fact gravity was reversed and traveled upward. We fell prey to more political wars, tried to survive a Recession worse than any other economic tragedy than the Depression! We had friends and family who were female and saw that their reproductive rights mattered. We watched as HIV/AIDS pandemic almost ravaged other friends and family and were encouraged by the resilience of the LGBTQ community. We became neighbors and friends, with people of color, and actually, as white folk fell in love with humans of another race, and knew the Earth would not end, and no one’s God would bring upon the End Times. 

 

I am so confused, PEOPLE OF A CERTAIN AGE, we had morals and values, conscience, and commitment, purpose, and promise believed in equality and freedoms and rights…so what the fuck happened to you that you think OUR, YOURS MINE, America was not already great, that somehow, all we did to fight for our future was to no avail…Honestly, PEOPLE OF A CERTAIN AGE, what has happened to YOU…because for ME, all that ever was, and all I lived for meant a lot and to give in and give up because of a false idol, an intentionally insidious scammer, is just a sin. What was the worth of your 6-7-8 decades of life, if you still support or ever have supported TRUMP and his UNCONSCIONABLE ENABLERS  pretending to be Republicans. I admit, I have become a bit OCD regarding anything Trump/all of the spineless GOP politicians/the entire Trump Cabinet, Family and Business sub-humans/the Hypocrites calling themselves Evangelical Christians/ the 1%Domestic Donor Class whose desires include paying no taxes, creating both a Theocracy and Autocracy form of Government/the Republican Governors who refuse to permit enough Voter Drop Off Boxes, or recognize the science behind controlling the spread of the CORNOAVIRUS, by refusing to insist on masks, social distancing or tracking and tracing…I admit, ever since Trump, has been designated a Russian Asset, and was hacked into office, I have NOT stopped my tirades and militant machinations to let truth reign supreme, rather have it die in a Trump/MAGA gutter. I will not remain SILENT, nor ignore the fact that when democracy dies so will freedoms, equality, morals, values, laws, and rights, all of which WILL permit a DYSTOPIAN DERANGED Government to emerge, led by a wanna’ be DICTATOR. Less than a week and all the kinds of crazy we have suffered through prior seem petty and paltry, as to the magnitude of UGLY awaiting us. And there is so much to SCREAM about…but today when I listened to a spoiled brat, a fraud, a nothing if not the son of a Reality Star, who only is relevant because of his father’s mental instability, explain that even the death of one person due to COVID-19 “ain’t no big deal,” I MUST explode, because if I don’t I will implode.

 

Junior Trump is a disgrace. His family is a disgrace, those who support him are a disgrace. If you vote for Junior’s father you are a disgrace. And I suppose you too consider even one death from COVID-19 NO BIG DEAL, then your life, like JUNIOR TRUMP, is so void of humanity, and one must ask, how do you live with yourself!

I had to wait to write this particular BLOG, I knew today would be the day Music Died, as the Senate approves the nomination of a Handmaid, a liar, who says she cannot comment on the equality, and freedoms which will soon beg her for her jurisdiction. I waited, wondering how many more of Mother Pence’s, own Handmaid Mike’s, personal staff (The COVID-19, Task Force Chair) would test be found to be positive with the Chinese Virus. I held my breath wondering if the new normal spike of COVID cases averaging 67,767 would continue. And I sighed, because EVEN the RED STATES, the one’s Jesus, selected as SPECIAL NATION-STATES for TRUMP, began to understand Mother nature could give one fuck about politics! I waited to write this BLOG because I actually grew tired of the worry, the angst, the pissed feeling, the outrage, the anger, the exasperation, the folly, and the mere fact that even with all of this constant chaos, TRUMP has enough support that NO ONE really knows how our 2020 election will end…and if with it the end of democracy!

So, so many reasons why, if you are voting for Trump, you TOO must be missing chromosomes, or intellect, and certainly anything resembling human emotions! As Trump entered the stage for the Third…(Opps, My Bad, Second Presidential Debacle, because, the original Second Debacle was canceled due to a spoiled brat hissy fit of sorts initiated by Trump) the acid reflux in my gut started to gurgle as might the eruption of lava from an oncoming volcano, and while I tried to calm my poor esophagus my brain started humming the theme song from the Addams Family TV Show: “They're creepy and they're kooky,

The Addams Family.” (Addams Family Theme/Vic Mizzy)…as all I could see was the character Lurch (Lurch is a fictional character created by American cartoonist Charles Addams as a manservant to The Addams Family), an emotionless, malfunctioning humanoid, void of most anything except the ability to lurch, almost to the point of actually tipping head over first! Trump in fact a manservant to Putin and now we discover to President Xi of China, and the surprise discovery of a secretive Chinese Bank Account)

 

And, thinking I might be able to watch at least enough of this DEBACLE, without the use of antacids or a quick trip to the emergency room for endoscopy (the insertion of a long, thin tube directly into the body to observe an internal organ or tissue in detail), once Trump ambled over to his lectern ( and honestly, I am not a fan of this man, but watching him trying to walk the four or five feet from the entrance of the stage toward the lectern, I was holding my breath wondering if he would make it without tipping over, stepping upon his way too long tie, the one he wears to try and hide his protruding belly, and actually hang himself) But he managed to cling onto the tip of the lectern, and if you watched his extra orange face, now all sweaty, you could share with him the astonishment that he ACTUALLY made it, although his breathing was certainly quick and his chest heaved an awful lot…but I am certain having had COVID, was not a hindrance to his lack of lung volume!

 

But then, the “deer in the headlight” moment vanished and as Trump began to lie (he does not speak, he LIES), my brain stopped humming the Addams Family Theme, and all I could hear inside my head was: “How low can you go, how low can you go, how low can you go, how low can you go

So here I am on the day after seven decades and a year, able to celebrate my life, my one in which I social distance, wear a mask, get tired of wearing that mask, but do anyway, still follow the directional signals in a Super Market, avoid unnecessary crowds, and understand that NATURE, is not man-made, but man can make understanding NATURE, a viable and livable action.
