One year later

Thank goodness, I have never lived in a war zone, I know nothing about trying to find refuge in a bomb shelter, and I have never had to wonder if anyone in my family might be in a place where bombs were targeted to destroy their apartment, home, school, hospital, their existence. I know nothing of real terror, as the screeching sound of bombs falls to Earth, the roar of jet fighters either attacking me or defending me. I know nothing of having my children kidnapped, the women in my life raped, and my sons dragged away. But I have known about all of these atrocities, from having met survivors of WW2, the Holocaust, Troops who fought in Viet Nam, and the men and women who have returned from Iraq and Afghanistan. 

 

How in the world, can the world, those who pretend that DEMOCRACY translates into Freedom/Liberty/Equality/Humanism/Fairness, continue to pretend, that ignoring the willful and menacing ways of people like Putin and his cadre of the Russian Elite, remain aloof, as if just talking about this INVASION will soon have it end.

 

Ukrainian Children have been taken to Disinformation Camps, (you know, like the German Concentration Camps), Ukrainian civilians have been slaughtered and Ukrainian women raped. Ukrainian Food, Energy, Water, and Medical Resources have been targeted. Trump’s BFF and perhaps Puppet Master, has acted in the most INSIDIOUS MANNER. For the American Republican Politicians and their Propagandist Purveyors of Hate at FOX, we are told that the Ukrainians asked for this kind of torture and murder. One year later and we are still deciding what to do!

 Once again, the so-called Main Stream Media has bought the Propaganda from the Republican Party Talking Heads, hired to provide bull shit to the masses, and at a rapid firing speed, so as to not miss on MISLEADING WORD. The newest of ideas is to claim that OLD is out, and YOUNG is in. The newest idea is to project some kind of fault in any age over 60 and to somehow glory and wonder at the marvels of anyone, in Politics who is at least 59 years of age. The Media, or as Sarah Palin loved to identify them “The Lame Street Media,” has fallen all over themselves trying to find some rationale as to why YOUNGER Politicians somehow or other, can provide a NEWNESS. 

The GOP wants to mangle Joe Biden, for his age. I truly believe it has nothing to do with age but has a whole lot more to do with his ability to offer all Americans a future, and purpose. Somehow, the GOP once again provides fodder for foolishness, which too many News Outlets are trying to have, that, morphs into a perceived reality based on, well not a whole lot of facts. Joe Biden is an older man, and because he is somehow, the Republicans enabled now by the Media, think that his old age means he is disassociated from the realities of America. Disassociated as in he is WOKE/Pro Women’s Rights/ Pro Trans Americans/Pro Affordable Medical Coverage for all/Anti-Putin/Anti-Christian Nationalism just to mention a few of his OLD MAN IDEALS.

 

The Media, however, does not seem to reflect too much on the lack of values of all those wanna-be Presidential Republican Candidates, like DeSantis, who has banned books/banned free speech/banned Parental rights/banned much and many others within the LGBTQ community. The Media is all abuzz about NIKKI, which has in past declared for a nationwide abortion ban, and has hammered that WOKENESS is non-American. 

 

Hate/Ignorance/Bias/Bigotry/Racism/Misogyny/Xenophobia nowadays, are not an AGEIST handicap. FREE TO BE

 Fifty-One years ago this year, the album Free to Be... You and Me was released. It was a personal project that would go on to become a gold record, a television special, a book, a foundation, and the anthem of a generation. The opening song, with its jangly banjo and skipping rhythm, lays out a vision of a kids utopia:“There's a land that I see where the children are free. And I say it ain't far to this land from where we are.”

 

In 1972, these messages were revolutionary. Fifty-One years later, and once again as before, We The People are fighting a battle to be free to Be... You and Me. Have you ever noticed in way too many futuristic novels or films, the anticipated future is not a bed of roses,” a  “beacon of welcome” or a fucking “eutopia!” But more of a hazardous period from times gone by identified as The Dark Ages!

 

As if we had never fought a Civil War, the  First or Second World War, experienced the White backlash of the 50s, the Nixonian period of the 60’s the Joe McCarthy years, the Regan Bull Shit years of his Bull Shit Trickle Down Con Game; we once again, not for the first time are aiming for the lowest of the low, the most immoral of the immoral, and the abyss of Hell. Trans kids/Women/People of Color (yeah, you GOP Republicans of color, just wait), Jews (yeah, even you Jews who somehow think your money will save you from Anti-Semitism) Immigrants/Drag Queens/ and LGBTQ community (yeah all you wealthy Gays, you really think economics is your get out of jail free card), we are once again living in a Nation, where we must BEG/SHOUT/and DEMAND, we expect to be Free to Be... You and Me.

I remember my mother would sing the lyrics to that song after my sisters or I promised we would do some task and of course really never attempt at all to try.

 

When I read the transcripts released, regarding Dominion Voting Systems' lawsuit against FOX, its On-Line Propagandists and of course one of the worst people to IMMIGRATE to America, Rupert Murdoch, as if my mother was with me, I heard these lyrics running in my head to the song UNDECIDED. Is anyone shocked, or as George Bush so fucked up once said “SHOCKED AND AWED!”

I was not a fan of Dean martin, but my mother and my aunt adored him, and when my oldest sister would return from a date and my mother asked her how it went, my sister, Maxine would often demure, causing my mother to belt out the lyrics to There’s Yes! Yes! In Your Eyes.

 

Perhaps the brief’s most revealing piece of evidence comes in a text message between prime-time hosts Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham. In the Nov. 18, 2020, conversation, the Fox stars shared their contempt for Trump’s conspiracy-minded lawyers, Sidney Powell and Rudy Giuliani. Carlson told Ingraham that he personally found their lies “unbelievably offensive,” but added: “Our viewers are good people and they believe it.” Which begs the question: are Fox’s biggest stars actually bigoted conspiracy theorists, or are they playing a role for the cameras that fulfills their viewers’ expectations? Ohio Republican Governor Mikey DeWine, said, "I’m asking they (Ohioans) trust the government. I know that’s hard. We know there’s a lack of trust," he said. "We’re testing for everything that was on that train." He added that “Healthy Skepticism, is good”, but the people of Ohio must put aside and, yep you got it, TRUST THE GOVERNMENT!  

 

The poor people of East Palestine, Ohio, have to put up with the lack of real information as the facts go. Of all places, on FOX pretend it's news, one of their Talking Heads made the comment if Governor DeWine won’t drink the water why should the residents do so? 

 

But here is one more Hypocrisy following any and all Republicans around, it is the simple fact that the GOP love to invent Conspiracy Theories, never identifying them as Healthy Skepticism, but INSISTING they are “THE WHOLE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.” The GOP love to make the GOVERNMENT nothing but WOKE Liberals, INSISTING, anything they ( if THEY are DEMS), say or do is in the interest of the PEOPLE. I imagine a whole lot of folks in Ohio who voted DeWine into office, actually bought into the propaganda of Conspiracy Theories and Never Trust The Government. FOX told them to do, and Christian Nationalist Preachers told them to do so. BUT NOW, all of the BULL SHIT, used by the GOP to brainwash the Ohioans has become like a BOOMERANG and has fallen on the REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR.

Biden escalates fight over Social Security and Medicare, frustrating Republicans

However, Beekman has never been tried in court, as his charges were “dismissed without prejudice” on September 22, 2020 because the woman who was shot refused to testify, and she was the only witness in the case. GYM Jordan also provided the January 6^th Committee his middle finger when being served a SUBPENA  asking him to please give any and all details involving the January 6^th Insurrection. Of course, the circus of Republicans just gets worse, with: Matt Gaetz, (nothing to see here with underaged girls), Andy Biggs, (I ask for a Presidential Pardon because ya’ know why) Chip Roy, (I JUST texted my belief that we should overturn the 2020 election)  Tom McClintock,  (I vote to protect real Americans like Steve Bannon from speaking to the January 6^th Committee) and Darrell Issa (He was arrested multiple times, charged with for insurance fraud and grand theft auto, and suspected to have burnt down this business to take the money and run.)
