three strikes

Three strikes and we are out.
I am tired of hearing how elections don’t matter because all politicians are the same. I am tired of speaking to people telling me that this president has not done enough of anything so I will not vote for him or the other jerk. I am tired of smart people being stupid and stupid people becoming the ‘deciders’, as George Bush once said so non-eloquently when he was the president.
I am tired as we face our day of celebrating our Independence from tyranny and tyrants witnessing politicians identified as Republican/Tea Party threatening the freedoms and equality our Founding Fathers lived, sought and died for. I can not remain silent as it is MY quality of life, the future life of MY kids, and the decades ahead for the greatest nation on Earth that is being tampered with and threatened.
Strike One:
You think we have nothing to worry about when a Republican/Tea Party dandy in New Hampshire believes teachers, mothers, and the president create criminals simply because we send our 5 year olds to Kindergarten.
A Republican lawmaker in New Hampshire explained his controversial statement last week that kindergarten leads to higher crime was based on statistics. Last week Rep. Bob Kingsbury (R-Laconia) told fellow Belknap County lawmakers that research he has conducted since 1996 shows a connection between the state's kindergarten program and higher crime rates, attributing it to children being taken "away from their mothers too soon."
In most any other period of history for this nation a politician making noise such as this would be laughed off the stage. But he is part of the elected majority of republican/Tea Party legislators in New Hampshire.
Strike Two:
You think you have nothing to worry about because some yo-yo Republican/Tea Party Congressman from Illinois, chose to disgrace a Veterans service because she is a double amputee, a female and served this nation is a joke.
Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) on Sunday accused his Democratic opponent Tammy Duckworth -- a double-amputee veteran of the Iraq War -- of not being a "true hero" because she made her military service central to her campaign. "Now I'm running against a woman who, my God, that's all she talks about," said Walsh, a Tea Party freshman. "Our true heroes, it's the last thing in the world they talk about."
In another era of this country’s history a comment like this would have had leadership from all political parties ask this Congressman to apologize not only to this Veteran but to the millions of other military who have sacrificed and served our country.
Strike Three:
You think you have nothing to worry about when a Republican/Tea Party candidate running for Senate from New York claims that women’s reproductive rights, universal health care for all is silly stuff and has nothing to do with the pursuit of Independence in the first place.
A New York GOP candidate for the U.S. Senate has included in her stump speech the claim that America's fighting men and women are not risking their lives and dying to protect things like expanded access to health care or contraceptive coverage. Praising America's warriors as defenders of the Constitution in one speech, Long goes on to say, "They didn't die for what Kirsten Gillibrand is saying -- for the right to force religious employers to pay for their employees' contraception."
In another time a person who said the Troops are particular about why they risk their lives and for whom they risk their lives would be removed from ever running for any office.
This is America 2012 and we are faced with people running under the title of Republican/Tea Party who want to blame teachers for crime, Veterans as hero whores, and Troops as picky and choosy as to whose freedoms they are fighting for. This is America 2012 and the crazies have been winning and redefining how America should be defined.
Not sacred when friends and family STILL are considering not voting for the Democrats...not scared when you STILL hear about Independent voters not sure how they will vote...not scared when hate, bias bigotry ignorance win and sane, sanity and fair come in second.
Three strikes and America may be out!
