Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) announced Wednesday the state budget would provide $250 million as a "down payment" to help fund the construction of a wall at the state's border with Mexico. Abbott said the $250 million in funding was "more than enough to hire a project manager and contractor to begin building the wall," declaring: "Texas will build a border wall in our state to help secure our border." (AXIOS)… OR… The Electric Reliability Council of Texas released a statement asking Texans to conserve power, which includes a request to set their thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, turn off lights and pool pumps, and avoid using large appliances such as ovens, washing machines, and dryers.
