With brazen Venezuela raid, Trump dares legal system to stop him. (MS NOW)
So many situations, so much to comment on, but this headline caught my eye. I see danger all around us, each and every day Trump remains as President, and each and every day his Republican sycophants remain in the majority.
I believe Trump sees himself as above any law. So far, he has managed to either outmaneuver the courts, out-con the legal system, or ignore justice. And so far, Trump has gotten away with even the murders of the Venezuelan fishermen!
And now, this headline, it seems as if Trump is daring the legal system to stop him. And so far, with the exception of a myriad of Federal Judges, Trump and his regime have continued their crime spree, and have paid little to no consequences.
It seems to me that, with the assistance of the Republican majority in Congress, more worried about being primaried, and the added help from the Heritage Foundation majority on the Supreme Court, the entire idea of our “checks and balances” has become obsolete and useless.
Too many corporate oligarchs from the Media acquiesce to Trump's regime's illegal actions, again, placing their personal profits above and beyond the survival of democracy and, oh, yeah, law and order.
The international community is outraged, but seriously, as I see it, none of that matters to Trump. So as the headlines suggest, it does seem that Trump and his army of Authoritarians are daring the legal system to stop them!
