Vladimir Putin has apologised for a “tragic incident” in which an Azerbaijan Airlines plane crashed on Christmas Day, but stopped short of admitting Russia was responsible.
The Kremlin said in an official statement that Putin had spoken to Azerbaijan’s president, Ilham Aliyev, on Saturday by phone in his first comments since the crash, which killed 38 of the 67 people onboard.

Let me understand this. Trump’s BFF, or is he really Trump’s puppet master, apologized for the tragic incident, aka the death and destruction of humans and the plane upon which they were flying, but denied any direct responsibility for the people’s demise. If one hadn’t caused the tragedy in advance, one might wonder why an apology would be necessary.
This apology reminds me of the typical Republican BS response to any tragic incident, when the GOP usually says, “If you say I hurt you, then I apologize. Or, I suppose that Putin is not a hypocritical Evangelical Christian, so he also did not speak the typical, “I offer you thoughts and prayers.”
