Montana legislators on Tuesday voted against a measure that would have barred state Rep. Zooey Zephyr, a transgender woman, from using the women’s restroom in the state Capitol.
The proposal, which would have compelled state legislators to use the restrooms of their assigned sex at birth in the state Capitol, failed to clear the House Rules Committee after four Republicans joined their Democratic colleagues to vote against it. The Senate Rules Committee had passed the measure by an 11-7 vote. (MSNBC)
Good news, but this article begs a bigger question, at least for me.
Why is it that so many Republicans are fixated on bathrooms and even more enamored in imagining what kinds of lewd behavior will happen in those bathrooms? From Margie Putin Greene to Nancy Mace to the Heritage Foundation to FOX, all we hear about is WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN, HOW IT WILL HAPPEN, AND JUST HOW SEXUALLY EXPLICIT IT WILL BE.
YET, the same hypocrites have zero problems when heterosexuals like Trump, Gaetz, and Hegseth have actually had explicit sex with underaged women and have either been found guilty of rape or strongly accused of rape. And then you have the superstars of the GOP House, Moscow Margie, and BOEBERT, who have extramarital affairs at the gym or the theater.
Of course, the list could go on and on and on, but I suppose, no, I KNOW because Trans folk is a necessary scapegoat, it is easy to overlook the real SEXUAL PERVERTS.
