In May of 1796, Congress adopted the first federal quarantine law in response to a series of deadly yellow fever epidemics. The law, entitled “An Act Relative to Quarantine”, 1 Stat. 474, was adopted by the Third Congress and signed by George Washington without much controversy. The remarkably simple law consisted of a single paragraph which provided as follows: . . . That the President of the United States be, and he is hereby authorized, to direct the revenue-officers and the officers commanding forts and revenue-cutters, to aid in the execution of quarantine and also in also in the execution of the health-laws of the states, respectively, in such manner as may to him appear necessary. On May 26, I 866, the Senate and House passed a joint resolution respecting quarantine and health laws: Continued outbreaks of yellow fever finally prompted Congress to pass federal quarantine legislation in 1878. The Public Health Service Act (PHSA) codified at 42 U.S.C. §§ 201–300, confers federal authority to institute medical quarantine and isolation measures in response to outbreaks of specific infectious diseases. Congress’s authority to pass the PHSA is derived from the Commerce Clause of the U.S. Constitution

His EXACT TWEET: “60 million Americans are subject to a stay-at-home order or curfew.11 million are right here in Ohio. What would the Founders say?” Jordan tweeted on Tuesday morning. Of course, HISTORIANS critiqued these erroneous and stupid as shit remarks, but like all things Republican, the damage was done, BECAUSE most REPULSIVE-CANS understand that the one thing that is more contagious than COVID, is their own FAKE VERSION of the FACTS and the NEWS! Just to be clear about Jimmy (look at me, look at me) Jordan let's review some relevant FACTS: he was considered to be part of the legal team to fight Trumps Impeachment/Joined the Texas AG’s lawsuit to overturn the election results of ONLY the Swing States/and has been and still IS being accused by former wrestlers he coached more than two decades ago at Ohio State University of failing to stop the team doctor from molesting them and other students. And the team members who were sexually abused had this to say about Jimmy (Kiss the Orange Ass) Jordan--- "So it’s sad for me to hear that he’s denying knowing about Strauss," he said.
