in the name of WOMEN

Abortion-rights advocates gathered in the nation's capital and by state capitol buildings across the country Saturday for a challenging task: persuading the Supreme Court not to reverse the 50-year precedent set by Roe v. Wade. (USA Today)

When the ERA passed in 1972, the legislation included a seven-year deadline. Upon reaching the original deadline without achieving the requisite number of state ratifications, advocates for the ERA convinced Congress to extend the deadline until 1982. However, anti-ERA groups and activists ramped up their opposition during that time, successfully mobilizing factions against the ERA and stalling the momentum the movement had enjoyed throughout the country. The 1982 deadline passed with the ERA falling three states short of the 38 needed for ratification. (Equality Now)

Passed by Congress June 4, 1919, and ratified on August 18, 1920, the 19th amendment granted women the right to vote. The 19th amendment legally guarantees American women the right to vote. Achieving this milestone required a lengthy and difficult struggle—victory took decades of agitation and protest. (Milestone Documents)

Sadly, Amy (Handmaid) Barrett, two men accused of sexual harassment, Clarence (too bad America) Thomas and Brett (I cry when I am guilty) Kavanaugh along with Samuel (I prefer my history from the Medieval Days) Alito, and of course Neil (but my fingers were crossed) Gorsuch, have hinted LOUDLY that WOMEN are truly not the first-class citizenry as the ERA or 19th Amendment suggested they should be! Using their own shit load of MISOGYNY, adding to it a humongous dose of Christian Religious Dogma, and baking the everlasting foul spice of HPOCRICY these sack of shit SUPREMES are playing the role of some kind of vengeful GOD! Maybe these I LIVE IN AN IVORY TOWER THUGS will not change their minds, BUT HOPEFULLY women and the people who love them and respect them will be loud enough between now and the 2022 Midterms TO ELECT politicians, in a majority who can make laws for and about INCLUSION AND EQUALITY! BE LOUD, BE VIGILANT, ACT UP, ACT UP, ACT UP!
