This program was an outreach to neighborhoods to help the citizens understand what the Police did. Our neighborhood kids actually visited a shooting range at the Police Station, and we all held a gun (unloaded) and aimed at a target, the intent was to teach us how serious it was to shoot a gun. My only other second experience holding a gun was at Camp, Camp Barney Mednitz in Cleveland Georgia, where we had Target Shooting with rifles. Since both experiences, I have NEVER held a gun in my hand. My Lottery Number during the time of the War in Vietnam was low enough to keep me from being drafted, so I NEVER had to learn how to shoot. And thankfully, growing up in a neighborhood where guns were NEVER used, I did not need a gun to try and keep me safe. As a Policeman, my father did have his gun at home, but for as long as I was able to grasp the idea of guns, or was ever tall enough to reach his gun, I and my siblings were educated on the purposes and pretense for using a gun.

 

We have been told, over and over by the GUN CARTEL, that GUNS are as American as Apple Pie. We have been lectured by those who consider the NRA as Christian as TRUMP is, that the Second Amendment is somehow the 11^th Commandment and that to use a gun is somehow Jesus’s way of being GOD. We have also been told, after hundreds of mass shootings, that if GOOD GUYS WITH GUNS, had been present somehow the death and destruction of innocents could have been avoided. GUNS ARE GOOD AND GOD-GIVEN the NRA states, as do the Politicians say, who are paid quite handsomely by the NRA, and only GOOD GUYS WITH GUNS, CAN STOP BAD GUYS WITH GUNS.  But, then we had ULVALDE, TEXAS, ROBB ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, and ALL of the supposed GOOD GUYS WITH GUNS, cowered, hesitated, waited and waited and DID NOT USE THEIR GUNS to deter the BAD GUY, with a GUN.

Paired with Senate Bill 197, which prohibits “obscene matter” from being within 2,500 feet of a school, this would criminalize being openly transgender in front of a minor or near schools as indecent exposure. According to a list obtained and published by the nonprofit PEN America, the Escambia County school district has included five dictionaries, eight encyclopedias and "The Guinness Book of World Records," in its list of more than 1,600 books that could soon be banned. Also on the list are "Merriam-Webster's Elementary Dictionary," "The Bible Book," "The World Book Encyclopedia of People and Places," "Guinness Book of World Records, 2000," "Webster's Dictionary and Thesaurus for Students," and "The American Heritage Children's Dictionary."

 

CBS News reached out to the Escambia school district for comment, but did not hear back prior to publication. In a statement to The Messenger, a spokesperson for the district said that the books "have not been banned or removed from the school district." "Rather, they have simply been pulled for further review to ensure compliance with the new legislation," the spokesperson said. "To suggest otherwise is disingenuous and counterproductive." (CBS)

Joe and I live on the Cape, a small village called Truro, which is about 5 miles from a larger town called Provincetown. Truro has no supermarket so as to not travel further than 30 minutes to shop, Joe and I will travel to Provincetown to buy groceries. Provincetown is at the very tip of Cape Cod, so if we needed groceries heading east, our next stop would be somewhere in Great Britain. Cape Cod begins at Bourne MA which is approximately 65.1 miles west of Provincetown, about 1 hour and 18 minutes off-season, and in season, a dreaded journey where one might be inclined to pack an overnight suitcase. 

 

Provincetown has ONE Supermarket, a sad kind of ill-lighted, kind of dismal interior, but as they say, location, location, location, is a priority so, we must shop there. I have mentioned before that for a long time Joe loves Cool Whip, and as a great husband when I shop, of course, I purchase Cool Whip. In the summer at our Super Market, Cool Whip can cost as much as $4.35, in the fall it may cost $3.65, and in the winter at this super market oftentimes you can get two Cool Whips for $4.00. So I must BEG the question are the seasons the cause for inflation of prices, or just GREED?

 

Provincetown has a large chain of Gas Stations, one major site is located as you enter Provincetown, and all summer long the price of Regular Gas has fluctuated from $4.50 a gallon to $4.75 a gallon. If you drive about 30 minutes, west, away from Provincetown to a small town called Eastham, the same chain of  Gas Stations has sold gas during the summer from a range of $4.25 to $4.50 a gallon. However in the fall and now winter Gas Chain now is selling Regular Gas in Provincetown, for the bargain price of $3.89, and in Eastham and further west on the Cape, there awaits a real bargain from the same Chain of regular gas at $3.39. Hmmmm, location, location, location.

 

This BLOG is not about the price of things, BUT IT IS ABOUT,  how the price of things is generated. Inflation is a man-made product. Man made to raise when necessary man made to lower if necessary. Let’s start talking about, as I see it, the real culprit regarding inflation is GREED!

Even if that product manufactured was purposely created to say, help save a life, help sustain a life, help to keep a life healthier, if there is no beneficial profit,  why the fuck even waste the time in creating it. By now, if the year 2-0-2-3 had been a Hollywood Apocalyptic Blockbuster movie, to premier either during Christmas or Summer, (premier not because of the importance of the film, but premier when the studios know there will be an audience), the audience would have witnessed a very buxom female Professor, with her hair tied behind her head, standing next to an even nerdier Male Government Lackey, handsome of course because ugly nerdy does not sell, and to cover all bases they would have been joined by a person of color who has a sense of things to come, and seems to know a lot! Some very symphonic music would have had a crescendo, followed by hints of dark brooding percussion, just to let our senses understand that these people know more than anyone else in the world, but are not the wealthy, greedy puppet masters of the world.

 

By now, it the year 2-0-2-3 had been in its final hour of airing, we would be witnessing the Hollywood scenes of mass hysteria all over the world similar to a Zombie attack, and we would have had the cameras home in on World Government Headquarters, with all the leaders either being escorted to some safer place, and of course had a few of their White Houses, or Palaces implode. By now, if the year 2-0-2-3 had been a movie some sappy writer would have pretended that the Climate Disasters actually motivated governments around the world to coalesce, placing their own greed, gluttony, and hatred for some kind of KUMBUYA.

 

BUT THIS AIN’T a movie titled 2-0-2-3, it is real life, and all we have are a whole bunch of really wealthy dudes, who somehow think they can survive the destruction of this planet, because money is the true giver of life, and they have soooooooooo much of it that never ever will their shit stink. 2023, one for the record, but somehow this record keeps skipping and it seems to play the same track, after and after and after!

There is so much TRUMP Fascist material that has been made public, so fucking much, with each new revelation more vile and disgusting than the ones before it, it is often difficult to figure out which intentional action by TRUMP is worse or more Putin-esque or Kim un-Jun-esque. To pretend to say that some new TRUMP inspired attempt to destroy this nation is a new low assumes that there is a bottom…but for TRUMP and his accolades, associates, henchmen, and Nazi-like Gestapo of supporters, until they actually find their way to HELL, there is NO LOW they will not conquer.

 

As I read this article in Rolling Stone Magazine, not with many surprises as to its contents, but with even more nausea, and anxiety than many other articles reporting all of TRUMPS dangerous machinations, I actually began to feel helpless and hopeless. This feeling of doom had little to do with TRUMP,  it did, at least for me, with the concept that the only way TRUMP has survived his criminal activities both perceived and acted upon, IS THE FACT THAT HE HAS AN ARMY AT HIS DISPOSAL, all of whom have no problem in committing their acts of domestic terrorism against, “We the People!” Without his own “Black Ops,” and Mercenaries from Billionaire Donors, to Republican Politicians, FOX Noise, the Evangelical Nationalism Preachers, and the “The South Shall Rise Again,” consortium voters, TRUMP would be nothing but a dead beat orange dyed NEVER WAS, sitting in jail.
