History...repeating itself

2024-Governor Greg Abbott today issued a statement on Texas’ constitutional right to defend and protect itself as President Joe Biden continues to attack Texas and refuse to perform his duties to secure the border.

"The Executive Branch of the United States has a constitutional duty to enforce federal laws protecting States, including immigration laws on the books right now," reads the statement. "President Biden has instructed his agencies to ignore federal statutes that mandate the detention of illegal immigrants. The failure of the Biden Administration to fulfill the duties imposed by Article IV, § 4 has triggered Article I, § 10, Clause 3, which reserves to this State the right of self-defense. For these reasons, I have already declared an invasion under Article I, § 10, Clause 3 to invoke Texas’s constitutional authority to defend and protect itself. That authority is the supreme law of the land and supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary."(The Office of the Texas Governor-Greg Abbott)

1963-Known as the "Stand in the Schoolhouse Door," Alabama Governor George Wallace stood in front of Foster Auditorium at the University of Alabama on June 11, 1963, to stop the enrollment of African-American students Vivan Malone and James Hood. He was being confronted by Deputy U.S. Attorney General Nicholas Katzenbach. Wallace desperately wanted to preserve segregation, but his action was in vain. In 1963, President John F. Kennedy's administration ordered the U.S. Army's 2nd Infantry Division from Ft. Benning, Georgia, to be prepared to enforce the racial integration of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, which they were able to do. (NPR)

Perhaps ABBOTT wishes to become Trump’s Vice President, (But Lordy don’t he know that there ain’t no way in Hell, no matter how much of a Racist or Bigot, ABBOTT is, that Trump ain’t ever gonna have a guy in a wheelchair, as a running mate.) Perhaps he is trying to out-gross out Trump. But enough must be enough already. At 4:30 a.m. on April 12, 1861, Confederate troops fired on Fort Sumter in South Carolina's Charleston Harbor. Less than 34 hours later, Union forces surrendered. Traditionally, this event has been used to mark the beginning of the Civil War. Remember how those Southern Good Ole’ Boy Governors decided to ignore the will of the Federal Government, and fight for the right to OWN and OPERATE HUMAN LIVES!

Governor George Wallace desired to keep the Negro, as a second-class human, because he thought that ALABAMA had the right to usurp the President’s will, as in the President of the ENTIRE 50 states. And now ABBOTT is doing the same kind of Confederacy action in Texas. When, WHEN will the Federal Government STOP permitting this Insurrection from happening!
