Not to be outdone, we learned that Jeff Bezos’ Amazon is also donating a million dollars to the inauguration. Bezos says he looks forward to working with the president-elect. “If we’re talking about Trump, I think it’s very interesting,” Bezos told Andrew Ross Sorkin at the DealBook Summit last week. “I’m actually very optimistic this time around. ... I’m very hopeful about his — he seems to have a lot of energy around reducing regulation. My point of view, if I can help him do that, I’m gonna help him.” (Chris Hayes)

 

Bezos says he is “…very optimistic this time…” Really, Jeff, you just dismiss his 34 count Felonies, his crime of rape, his removing and stealing state secrets, his attempted act of insurrection… All of that history, which impacted our sense of Justice, Law and Order, and Decency, is just like dust in the wind. For Trump, if you are a member of the FAMILY, upon which your allegiance is to Trump rather than the Constitution. What I do care about is the frequency with which Trump chooses people of dubious qualifications for prominent governmental posts based on their closeness to members of his family. The growing list now includes:

Charles Kushner, Ivanka Trump’s father-in-law, whom the president-elect intends to nominate as the next U.S. ambassador to France.

Massad Boulos, Tiffany Trump’s father-in-law, whom the president-elect tapped to serve as a senior White House adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.

Adam Boehler, Jared Kushner’s college roommate, whom the president-elect tapped to serve as the special U.S. envoy for hostage affairs.

And we can now add Guilfoyle, who was apparently close to Donald Trump Jr., to the mix.

 Only the pharmaceutical companies get seats at Trump’s table. Consumer advocates are nowhere to be seen. 

Give me, give me, and once you give me what I want, I will give you something in return. Trump, to no one’s surprise, is grifting again. His con never ends but grows like a cancer tumor.

 

“President-elect Trump hosted the chief executives of Pfizer, Eli Lilly and PhRMA Wednesday night at Mar-a-Lago,” Axios reported Thursday, “where they discussed how the public and private sectors can collaborate on finding cures for cancer, among other topics. ... The meeting at Mar-a-Lago included a pre-dinner reception and lasted nearly three hours.” Also in attendance were Kennedy, incoming White House chief of staff Susie Wiles and Mehmet Oz, Trump’s choice to run the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

 

No more hide and seek, nope, Trump realizes that there are suckers born every minute, and he knows he can take advantage of those suckers in plain sight! Don the Con has his two sideshow co-conmen with him, Brain Worm Kennedy and Snake Oil Oz, at the ready to grab the moment. Both Oz and Kennedy are facades, each empty and as oily as Trump.

 

Wow, how much MORE profit over people will the Pharmaceutical Pariahs demand, and how many more lives will be lost because they cannot afford to live or they are following the advice of two phonies?

Separately, the IG report released Tuesday found that the Justice Department violated its own policies in the way it secretly obtained phone and text records from reporters in the same leak investigations, which related to the FBI’s probe of suspected Trump campaign coordination with Russia. Somehow and I have NO IDEA, BUT THEN seems not to matter, because…

 

NOW…the same Fascist, the same Con, the same Fraud has been elected to office, AGAIN…

 

THEN, he did not win the popular vote; NOW, he did not win the popular vote. THEN he gave zero shits regarding the Constitution but was quite secretive about ignoring the laws of the land. NOW, he has been very vocal and un-secretive regarding his intentions to fuck the law and make this country part and parcel of his own authoritarian regime.

 

I must continue to scream the obvious: I am not certain what else I can do, but I lived THEN, as Trump began his pursuit to end Democracy, and I am living NOW. What The Fuck Americans who voted for this man are also willing participants in the destruction of your own DEMOCRACY!
