IMMUNITY

Oliver North is primarily remembered for his term as a National Security Council staff member during the Iran-Contra affair a political scandal of the late 1980s. The scandal involved the illegal sale of weapons to Iran to encourage the release of U.S. Hostages then held in Lebanon. North formulated the second part of the plan, which was to divert proceeds from the arms sales to support the Contra rebel groups in Nicaragua, which had been specifically prohibited under the Boland Amendment. (And Remember this is the illegal act sanctioned by Reagan who when caught as the ringleader said to the American people, "A few months ago, I told the American people I did not trade arms for hostages. My heart and my best intentions still tell me that's true, but the facts and evidence tell me it is not.” We will never know if Reagan was in the beginning stages of dementia, or just a con, because somehow, even though he WAS the president, his mental health was none of our business.

“Gen. Michael Flynn, former National Security Advisor to Trump ( certainly has a story to tell, and he very much wants to tell it, should the circumstances permit. ... No reasonable person, who has the benefit of advice from counsel, would submit to questioning in such a highly politicized, witch-hunt environment without assurances against unfair prosecution," Robert Kelner, Flynn's lawyer, said in a statement late Thursday. Michael Flynn’s attorneys are in discussion for Immunity for their client’s testimony. Michael Flynn had stated a few months ago on MSNBC, "when you are given immunity, that means you probably committed a crime.” Three former Trump aides who are at the center of the federal investigation into Russia's interference in the US elections have already come forward and said they would testify freely -- without the promise of immunity. Former campaign chairman Paul Manafort, former adviser Roger Stone and former foreign policy adviser Carter Page all said, via their lawyers, last week that they were ready to come before House and Senate investigators. "Mike Flynn should ask for immunity in that this is a witch hunt (excuse for big election loss), by media & Dems, of historic proportion!" Trump tweeted. Perhaps, Trump like Reagan is suffering from a variety of mental illness or like Reagan is just a con, even though he IS sitting in the Oval Office, his mental health seems to be none of our business.

History, once again is reminding us, just how important facts SHOULD be. National Advisors/Presidents both with the potential to be Traitors/ Anarchists/Liars/Self-Serving/ and worst of all Enemies of the State. Oliver North was granted partial immunity, and was able to con the Senate Committee by not living up to his word and did not discuss too many of the guilty guys and gals from the Reagan Administration. So, now I understand even better, why Immunity for Flynn may not be the best bargain for the citizens of this nation, but a sure thing for Trump. Flynn can name some names and once he is immune, raise his middle finger to the Senate and say, “You guys want to buy some swampland in Florida”, and Trump is off the hook!
