According to Justice Joseph Story in his Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States, the period of four years is not long enough to risk any harm to the public safety. Congressional Republicans proposed the constitutional amendment banning presidents from serving more than two terms in response to Roosevelt's four election victories. Histories have written that the party felt such a move was the best way to invalidate the popular Democrat's legacy.
"At the time, an amendment limiting presidents to two terms in office seemed an effective way to invalidate Roosevelt's legacy, to discredit this most progressive of presidents," wrote professors James MacGregor Burns and Susan Dunn in The New York Times.
The thing about the Democrats is how they want to play by the rules, rules they never agreed to in the first place, but nonetheless adhere to. Another thing about the Democrats can be summed up regarding the lack of action they take, if we look closely at Senator Cory Booker of NJ. This Senator had received generous financial backing from the Kushner family as in Jared Kushner. So Senator Booker has decided that until the Vladimir Putin actually sits in the Oval Office, he (Senator Booker) will assume any contacts his donor and puppet master Jared Kushner certainly hasn’t behaved in a treasonous manner, not committing any type of anarchy. The thing about Democrats is they too can be as lousy a politician as the Republicans, screwing the American public to promote themselves. The thing about the Democrats is just how gullible, stupid, and always chasing their tails, while their Republican counterparts take every advantage permitted. We should be talking about limiting anything Trump, but instead, the Democrats lay down and play dead. Huh!?
