And then you add to the audacious mix, the ego of Joe Manchin (Unattached and Unable to see, smell or taste REALITY, and the DINO (Democrat In Name Only) Kyrsten Sinema, and the acid rain/nuclear fallout/Three Mile Island gook, makes for an APOCALYPTIC demise of democracy!

First They Came

I am also PISSED off that, FINALLY, when the FACTS have arisen from the bowels of William Barr’s Hell, HIS JUSTICE DEPARTMENT, and the lying, scheming, lack of blind justice, plotting and dismissal of the will of the American people over the cult-like love for a WANNA BE DICTATOR, once again consternation and caution rear their stupid heads and we are debating whether to make all of the illicit machinations TRANSPARENT to the American Public!

 When I was a young kid, during the 1950s, the genre of the movies at that time dealt with UFO’s, invasions by monsters, creatures of all sorts and kinds; I was mesmerized, terrified, causing my imagination to wander, wonder, and willingly seek the secrets of the universe. All I saw was the potential of cataclysmic events changing mankind, but in the end, mankind finding its hero’s and “kicking some monster or alien ass.” My father would take my sister and me to the Liberty Theater in Pittsburgh, a Gothic Place that once boasted three balconies. It had been turned into a B List Movie House, showing a double bill of Lon Cheney, Boris Karloff, and Vincent Price. My dad LOVED a good scary movie, and his interest seeped way down to his kids. The Liberty Theater was HUGE and dark, it actually had lookouts with gargoyles sitting perch, and because the audience was not the once beaming brood, the balconies remained shut, but sitting on the main floor looking up into the vastness of bleakness, as a kid I was certain some THING was just staring down on my father my sister and me!

 

I remember watching The Twilight Zone as a kid. Just the idea that in the next moment that the haunting theme song would play and Rod Serling would emerge, cigarette hanging from his hand, and his deep voice, warning us that next stop was the Twilight Zone, provided shivers and bravery, and a pre-check of the locked doors and windows of my house. Not until I became older and too much aware of history and politics, did I discover that Mr. Serling and his cadre of writers for the Twilight Zone, were actually Progressives, deriding the Eisenhower years of drawing within a straight line, good or bad are based on religious belief, man is tough, women are chattel, white is right and any other color is bad. Phew, had I known there was relevance and reverence for the PRESENT, but more importantly, cautionary tales for the FUTURE, perhaps the mystic and mystery would have been dulled.

 

During the Pandemic, I began to watch the original Twilight Zones, now as an adult, still a bit scary, but not as in, there is a monster in the house, but more so and much more frightening, knowing WE, THE HUMAN RACE ARE THE MONSTERS. Watch closely how the evil is more so BECAUSE the HUMAN characters are devious and dangerous. 2016 through 2021 seem to be years one might find in the Twilight Zone, I cannot imagine a fiction writer, transcribing a more heinous or hideous plot. But at least, watching the Twilight Zone, one could, after 30 minutes, sigh and exhale, knowing that SCARY would take at least one more week to arrive. I am so tired of hearing Rod Serling whisper, you have now entered the Twilight Zone!

It’s as if Trump’s election was the detonation of a Nuclear Bomb, and NOW even with Trump out of office, the fallout is still polluting this nation and the infection has rendered the Republicans as parasites. They are nothing but a conglomeration of robots, programmed to place their own professional careers above the tenants of democracy and disregard for truth, justice, and honor. Trump IS FOR PUTIN, the gift that GIVES AND GIVES AND GIVES. The Republicans are the Putin Worker Bees who just TAKE AND TAKE AND TAKE!

 

And NOW, America, we have some Dems who suddenly are feigning their responsibility to the Constitution, and have begun to ponder, SHOULD THEY JUST DROP THE 6/1 COMMISSION, because (surprise, surprise) the GQP won’t assist in finding out the TRUTH. Yep in true coward Democrat response, some members of Congress have once again are the SAPS, falling for the CON, from the GQP, and tucking their tails behind them, whispering, MAYBE WE SHOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD, BECAUSE THOSE MEAN GQP WON’T PLAY BY OUR RULES!

 

I for ONE am so sick and tired of playing the GQP game of Lucy and Charlie Brown and the Football! Why even try to find BI-PARTISIANSHIP when history, past and recent have proven the majority of Republicans never keep their word, and NEVER EVER WILL. An INSURRECTION took place, an ACT OF SEDITION, was motivated and created by TRUMP and most likely some key members of the Republican Party Leadership. These Putin Puppets have a lot to hide and much to fear. By NOT pursuing this, the Dems, in my opinion, are acting as ENABLERS and if they DO NOT create some kind of COMMISION to find the truth, THEY too are as much the traitor as any GQP politician denying the American people JUSTICE!

 Spring is establishing its rightful foothold on planet Earth, albeit for this year, but Mother Nature has been a lot cranky recently, so with the coming of each season, we mere mortals can only anticipate, the irregularity of what was once considered REGULAR; and joyously embrace the moment, inhaling and exhaling. Spring was oh so comforting in Provincetown, on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, inviting and embracing, enticing and begging all and anyone to take a peek, attempt a try, let go and just remember the world is trying to spin round and round, in spite of the politics and POLITICIANS. Joe and I found ourselves drawn to the Jetty, the man-made rock bridge-like formation in P-Town, dividing the Bay from the Ocean. This place for me, aside from climbing Mt Sinai at sunrise and taking the path to Masada is MY Heaven on Earth, MY HAVEN. These are a few places from which I understand the vastness of the universe, the power of the God I believe in, and the sense and sensibility THAT WE all are a part of the greater good, and the GOODNESS we project is so important in maintaining a BALANCE, between good and BAD!

 

The tide has escaped the shores of either side of the Jetty, the water is spinning its powerful currents elsewhere, leaving its usual deep dark mysteries, UNCOVERED; availing humans to walk on the sand usually hidden and secretive. And here I am as if a desert has appeared, almost as if it was from here to eternity. I was tall and small, a speck and unique all at one time. And standing on the floor the sea bed, dry and sturdy, I once again dreamed of purpose, principle, and promise.

 

For four years and 5 months, the world had seemed doomed and dangerous, frustrating and futile. I would not remain quiet, knowing that SILENCE DOES EQUAL DEATH. Even now, the chaos seems to be contagious with consequences as great as before, and frustration runs rampant. Fact is thrown away replaced as fiction. Truth has been brutalized, with honor morals and values kicked and beleaguered. Anxiety and angst are daring the sane mind to remain calm, and I like so many humans just wish for justice to return. I write my blogs; I respond to MEME’s that perfectly state the obvious if only the OBLIVIOUS would see them. But on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, I escaped from the harangue and heretic-like hypocrisy, and for the half-hour before the tide returned I found the strength to carry on!

If cast ballots are a protected function of government, if each person is to vote privately and in a secured and safe manner, why the fuck are NON-Government peons granted access to these BALLOTS, and at their whim and will handling them with no lack of security in the state of Arizona.  For all of us who have reason to celebrate Mother’s Day…For all of us, who can reflect on the moments, the minutia, the memories, the magnificence, magic, and majesty of our MOTHERS, this day collects the good the bad the happy the sad, zigs and zags all of that information into synapse’s headed to our hearts, our brains and our guts. We sigh, suppose, wish and wonder. If our Moms are still alive, we are blessed to hold tightly to the lady who is the core of many of our own existence. Or however, on this day we reach up to the heavens, or inhale the fresh air, hear the crashing of the waves, stand upon a high hill listening for an echo, OR even see a Cardinal or a Butterfly whiz by and shed tears, moan a deep and painful sound, wanting one more chance to say thank you and I love you, to those who have passed on…wishing for more.

Either scenario permits us to recall and remember.

 

But on this Mother’s Day 2021, I want to extend my heart and soul to the 581,000 American’s who had succumbed to the Pandemic. To all of those who were mothers, to all the mothers who lost children, and to all of the friends and family who said goodbye to mothers, this SHOCK of LOSS was in itself a consequence of the selfish and arrogant, the snarky and the sarcastic, and the pitiful fools WHO SADLY, in my estimation, must have never had the real value of a mothers love, empathy, and emotion!

To My Aunt Meercy on Mothers Day

 Growing up, I thought of my Aunt Meercy, my mother's younger sister, as my own personal Doris Day and Auntie Mame. I thought she was as beautiful as a movie star, as colorful and creative as Mame Dennis, and ALWAYS brought culture, expanded horizons, and positive thinking into my life. For my Aunt Meercy, a single working lady in the 50’s and ’60s, there was never a road too hard to pave over, or if needed a detour to get around; and if that did not work just build a bridge she would say, she would DO IT!

 

Music, music, music, everywhere and any time. I remember when she lived on Lilac Street in the Greenfield neighborhood of Pittsburgh. Her apartment was on the second floor, which meant first climbing up two dozen steps to get into her house, and then another dozen steps, to reach the second floor but no matter the effort, the minute you came close to her house, the radio was blaring some kind of jitterbug or Big Band song. I learned how to do the cha-cha from Aunt Meercy, and the box step. Aunt Meercy would remind me, no matter how short I might be, by looking a lady in the eye when you dance a slow dance with her, I was a TALL man in her eyes! My sisters and I would go to the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh, and before we entered, Aunt Meercy would remind us of manners and respect. Manners by ALWAYS staying to the right, and respect by always taking the time to read, the little card next to the painting or sculpture, so we could acknowledge the talent of the artist.

 

I was lucky because my Aunt Meercy was like having a second mom. When I came out to my family, I decided to tell both my Mother and Aunt at the same time. My mother had no problem, reminding me I am and was and will be her son, and life certainly has a lot of secrets to be shared. My Aunt Meercy looked at my mother, and said, “Boy are we lucky, to have a son who can love the world.” Happy Mother’s Day Aunt Meercy!

My MOTHER had the responsibility for banking his check and taking out the weekly food budget in cash and spending about two hours grocery shopping. We knew the Deli Manager by the first name, and he would provide my sister and me with a slice or two of Hebrew National bologna. We knew the Produce Man by the first name receiving a fresh slice of whatever seasonal fruit was for sale. And we only went to Loraine’s register to check out, because she and my mother had a lot of gossip to catch up on from the previous week. My mother was a child of the Depression, and for her, buying in bulk, knowing that eventually, a rainy day could flood our house, she would be prepared. Plus my mother was the Official neighborhood Birthday Cake Baker, The “Oh Rena your cupcakes and cookies are so delicious,” family special occasion Baker, the annual school trip to Kennywood Park cook, for the homemade Fried Chicken, Cole Slaw, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, Potato Salad and Chocolate Cake picnic lunch prepared for about24 of our neighbors! We were a family of 6, always had at least 4 extra friends over for dinner, and HONESTLY, my mother would cook at least 7 different main courses, making certain everyone ate and ate what they liked. My mother never used recipes, swore they made her feel too claustrophobic for her to work in her kitchen. But always had a pinch, a sense, a smell, a touch for what was needed; and she never failed in delivering a cooked, baked, or roasted product, with more than enough so the leftovers could be taken home in Tupperware. My mother was a sum of a whole lot of gracious, grand, giving, love heart, and soul. But she will be remembered by anyone who was lucky enough to have known her Saint Let’s Eat Lots and Delicious. My mother, Rena, would say, “For me, cooking and baking are like giving a hug and kiss to those you care for.” The only hard part is when I see they haven’t asked for seconds.” 

 

I have so many memories regarding my mother, like so many who have or had been blessed by UNCONDITIONAL LOVE, that choosing one or two is difficult, BUT then they are like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle; as I know, the fun is to fit them all together to get a better picture of my MOTHER. We are human, and we are provided the ability to love. As humans, the frail part of being is to lose that love. BUT, aha, because we ARE human we can remember, and oh how magnificent those memories remain! Happy Mother’s Day!

And of course, the tour starts in the Banana Republic of Florida whose Commandant DeSantis, has made it clear that Democracy should die, by instituting an AUTHORITARIAN BEVY OF VOTER SUPPRESSION LAWS…AND, has decided that a predominately black district will not have representation in the Congress, to replace the currently deceased Rep, who passed away in April, until January of 2022!

 

The infamous, supposedly “I see underaged girls and like to transport them across state lines,” and “My daddy can beat up your daddy because he is RICH, and my best friends are Roger (Foreign Assets is my specialty) Stone and Dumb Junior are my besties,” PLUS the Jewish Lasers are FER Real Dude, and Pre School through High School Education is a Socialist Ploy to infiltrate our youth, as well as The COVID Vaccine, has a tracking device in it, Marjory Taylor Greene; have teamed up for this year’s version of THE MAGA burlesque show! I mean, they make Kevin (please love me, love ME, Donnie) McCarthy Jimmy (shower what shower) Jordan, Louie (how many hateful things can I shout in a minute) Gohmert, just seem like old school BULL SHIT!) 

 

THESE TWO INSURRECTIONISTS who have a degree most likely from the FAILED TRUMP UNIVERSITY, have at least learned the Art of the Snake Oil Deal and are plowing right through the savings accounts of wealthy “Old Fart” Republicans, who somehow as they have grown older have become more bitter and biased and bigoted, and in their journey to retirement have decided Democracy is DEAD and long live Fascism. The Villages has become prime PR property for Generalfeldmarshall Trump, and sadly a large contingent of residents RELISH trampling on Old Glory and replacing it with either The Confederate Flag, the Flags of the Oath Keepers/America First/Three Percenters/

Literally and figuratively the calls of ANARCHY/AUTHORITARIANISM/ FASCISM/AND DICTATORSHIP are coming from inside the House (The House of Representatives) and the monsters are living among us (State Legislatures/Governors Mansions) and we are ALL running out of time to escape the dangerous devious malicious and maniacal machinations of the Republican Party, punch drunk on the Orange and Toxic Kool-Ade, prepared by Trump but whose recipes originate in the halls of the Kremlin under the stewardship of Vladimir Putin. All of this irreverence toward Democracy has a deep-rooted weed like historical context within the GOP (the Party that can never win on its own merits but cheats and lies and scheme, and ELIMINATE, the American Voter of color/religion/gender) “Are You Now or Have You Ever Been a Communist?” in the ’50s, (THE McCarthy Era of denying free speech, focusing on Jews, the Educated, the Progressive Culturally Creatives) THE JIM CROW LAWS from 1877 thru the 1960s (state and local laws that enforced racial segregation in the Southern United States.) THE SOUTHERN STRATEGY (In American politics, the Southern strategy was a Republican Party electoral strategy to increase political support among white voters in the South by appealing to racism against African Americans.)

Back in the USSR

 Obviously, 2020 was a terrible year. For Russian President Vladimir Putin, however, there was one bright spot. (Bloomberg) And Putin decided that civil rights and human rights needed NOT to be protected by the Russian Constitution NOR Civil Disobedience. Many politically savvy students of Putin are warning that the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics is about to be re-birthed! 

 

The United States is in the midst of “ITS 2024 PROBLEM” and the future of this nation is currently, as far as I am concerned, in the hands of Vladimir Putin in the guise of his “MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE, Donald Trump. And Donald Trump has declared war on the United States, choosing carefully most and all within the Republican Party as an invading army with units named Oath Keepers/the KKK/FOX News/The Proud Boys/QAnon. For me, the THRID WORLD WAR was officially declared on January 6, 2021, and the invading army dressed in Red MAGA Hats and armed with their SECOND AMENDMENT BULL SHIT was following the orders of Comrades Trump/Giuliani/Trump Junior/Hawley/Cruz. No need for any atomic weapons, the weapons of mass destruction necessary for this war consist of anything called AK’s.

 

Putin’s Russian Asset (most likely being blackmailed and in debt) Trump, has ignited enough Domestic Terrorism to destroy this nation without any nuclear fallout, just the demise of DEMOCRACY. And, it seems to be, the expansion of the USSR has not started on Russia’s Eastern border, BUT in fact, within the United States. Аризона (Arizona), Флорида (Florida), Грузия (Georgia) and Техас (Texas) Think about the similarities between Putin’s vision for a new Russia, no civil disobedience, no human rights, restricted voting, perceived enemies of the state either imprisoned or cast out…COMPARE that with the Trump Political Party’s agenda from Comrade DeSantis permitting drivers to run over protestors, Georgia and Texas’s prohibitive voting restrictions, Arizona debacle and sham in recounting valid votes, to the shunning of dissidents like Cheney and Romney. This IS REAL, in our faces. The Russian Asset is alive and well, and the perfect STOOGE for the STOOGES who want to destroy DEMOCRACY!
