The Senate Rules Committee will meet on Tuesday to debate and vote on a sweeping elections bill that progressives view as crucial to the future of democracy and Republicans see as a federal takeover of the voting process.
“I think it will last at least all day. I think at some point the chairwoman will have to decide if she wants legitimate amendments from our members to all have a chance to be voted on,” said Sen. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), the top Republican on the panel, referring to Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.). “I think they owe it to the other side to let the other side be heard.” (The Hill)
“I think they owe it to the other side to let the other side be heard.” That quote, for ME, EXACTLY sums up the sheer lunacy/denial/hypocrisy/and delusion which has been and still IS the Grand QAnon Party (GQP). Suddenly the GQP feels that within the Senate, BOTH sides should be heard…NOT HOWEVER WHEN THE GQP IS IN THE MAJORITY…no, THEN, Moscow Mitch has no intention of permitting a democratic process to proceed when it is the DEMOCRATS who wish to be heard. Be it the nomination of Merrick Garland, Investigation into Trump or the myriad of his Swamp Creatures, gun legislation, environmental issues, or whatever else the majority of Americans had voted their Senators into office to discuss…when Moscow Mitch and his GQP were in charge, THERE WAS NO OTHER SIDE…EVER!
When McConnell made it clear his priority was to stop any Biden policy and that HIS cultists in the GQP were united, WHY in the world would an intelligent Democrat even hope or pray the GQP would or will attempt any valid intercourse? While there are a few GQP Senators, who STILL are spreading the BIG LIE, WHY would any Democrat who cares about the Constitution permit one iota of Bull Shit to be spewed. And ya’ know, I am so damned tired of the Talking Heads insisting that most Americans want a bipartisan Senate to emerge NOW. Why is it ONLY when the GQP is in the minority does KUMBYA suddenly gets sung?
