These Three Republicans

Speaker of the House, the second in line to become President.

Jim Jordan skeptics begin lining up behind his House speaker bid.

“Jim Jordan and I have had two cordial, thoughtful, and productive conversations over the past two days,” Rogers said in a statement, saying Jordan addressed his concerns about defense spending, federal funding and agricultural legislation.

Rep. Ann Wagner (R-Mo.), another self-proclaimed never-Jordan member, said in a statement "[t]oo much is at stake to hand control of the House over to radical liberal Democrats, which is why we must elect a conservative as the next Speaker.”

“After having a conversation with Jim Jordan about how we must get the House back on a path to achieve our national security and appropriations goals,” Rep. Ken Calvert (R-Calif.) said in a post on X. (AXIOS)

These three Republicans are part of a farce, a circus of freaks ignoring reality preferring their own version of Patriotism, and of course self-preservation. These three Republicans, pretending that somehow electing a Republican to the Speakership is okay, even though that Republican was apparently deeply involved with an Insurrection, and an attempted COUP against our Nation. These three Republicans have the audacity to say Jordan is committed to our defense spending, while he NEVER made any attempt to defend our democracy. These three Republicans insist that because Democrats fought hard for our Constitution, Freedoms, Liberties, and Democracy are too liberal. These three Republicans are a sad sack assortment of the rest of the Republicans in Congress, who prefer, Putin/Trump/Authoritarianism/ and the demise of democratic principles.  How fucked up, how very fucked up!

In the months leading up to and following the 2020 presidential election, potential House speaker and Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan prolifically pushed false stolen election rhetoric. He would later be applauded by Trump in his speech to supporters on January 6, 2021, calling the Ohio Republican one of the “great ones” for his efforts. One hundred forty-seven Republicans objected to the election results on January 6, 2021, but Jordan, with his constant television and radio appearances, was among the most vocal. Time and again, Jordan suggested Trump could not have lost because Republicans picked up seats in the House of Representatives that cycle and Trump got more votes than in 2016. “Something doesn’t feel right here,” Jordan said in one appearance on Hannity, repeating a frequent remark of his. “Our president got 9 million more votes this time than he did four years ago, and yet he comes up short,” Jordan said. In the lead up to the election, Jordan baselessly suggested numerous times that Democrats were orchestrating a plan to steal the election – implying that Covid-19 rule changes for voting in states were part of a Democratic plot. Rather than testify about the crimes of Donald Trump, Representative Jim Jordan criminally defied a congressional subpoena. (CNN)
