Ground Hog day...again

Ground Hog Day, once again. This time Ground Hog Day going way back to the election of Kevin McCarthy as House Speaker. No, not the million votes were taken to finally give “Kevie,” the gavel, but actually to clone “Kevie,” as in being a Prime Puppet for Trump and in turn Putin. Gym Jordan is the evil we see when the lights are on, Mike Johnson has been the worst kind of evil, the monster that only creeps in the shadows. The Republican Party, this time every single one of the GOP Representatives, decided that a 2020 Election denier and author of how to corrupt the Electoral College should be their chosen leader, and of course should be the 2nd in line to the Presidency.-------- “Johnson objected to certification of the 2020 election results and played a key role in getting signatures for an amicus brief in the long-shot Texas lawsuit that sought to overturn election results in several states.” (Bloomberg)

The new speaker of the House is not only an election denier with a record of supporting anti-LGBTQ legislation, but he’s also deeply opposed to abortion rights.

New GOP House Speaker Once Lamented That Abortions Cut ‘Able-Bodied Workers’ From Economy. “Roe v. Wade gave constitutional cover to the elective killing of unborn children in America. Period,” he said during an undated clip from a House Judiciary Committee Hearing. “You think about the implications of that on the economy. We’re all struggling here to cover the bases of Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid and all the rest. If we had all those able-bodied workers in the economy, we wouldn’t be going upside down and toppling over like this.” (Huff Post)

U.S. Rep Mike Johnson of Louisiana has introduced a bill that critics are calling a federal “don’t say gay” bill that prohibits federal funding for any “sexually-oriented” event or material for children under the age of 10. The bill, dubbed the “Stop the Sexualization of Children Act of 2022” was co-sponsored by 32 other Republicans, including Rep. Clay Higgins of Louisiana. While the bill draws inspiration from state legislation in Florida that prohibits discussion of sexual orientation in the classroom, Johnson’s bill would have the effect of prohibiting discussion of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender dysphoria, or related subjects at any federally funded institution. We have a Trump Puppet, a Trump Supporter of Election Denial, a Misogynist, a Homophobe, and a Transphobe as the Speaker of the House. We were limited to how we governed our Nation for 3 weeks, only to discover that the person elected as the new Speaker, is just a bit younger and perhaps even more of an anti-democracy crusader than Kevin McCarthy, but in fact is the same old sad sack hateful, hypocritical, anti-American fellow. Ground Hog Day!
