It ain't me...um, YES!

 “Go away from my window

Leave at your own chosen speed

I'm not the one you want, babe

I'm not the one you need.” (‘It Ain’t Me Babe’/ Bob Dylan)

Florida school asks parents for permission to have an African American person read to students. “We realize that the description of the event may have caused confusion, and we are working with our schools to reemphasize the importance of clarity for parents," a district spokesperson said. A Florida school district is drawing fire for asking parents to consent to having their children participate in a book reading by an African American author to comply with state law. (NBC News)

By the way, this year is 2024, not 1954/when lawsuits were combined into the landmark Brown v. Board of Education Supreme Court case that outlawed segregation in schools in 1954. But the vast majority of segregated schools were not integrated until many years later. Once upon a very long time that it took, and after the Civil War ended, America tried to correct the blatant, disingenuous, disgusting, and dangerous love affair with Racism. However, unlike the children’s fables beginning with the sentence, “Once Upon A Time,” this American tragedy does not want to end with the words “Lived Happily Ever After.”

Was it the audacity of an African American as a guest in the classroom? Maybe it was the recklessness of this Florida School to even provide a program called “Read aloud, where, well maybe the wrong people will be reading-ALOUD? (The form describes the activity as a “read aloud” scheduled for Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the library. Next to “types of guest that may attend the activity or event,” it says: “fireman/doctor/artist.”) Was it the presumptuousness of JUST the PRINCIPAL, TEACHERS, and LIBRAIRAN to think that educating Florida kids had actually been their responsibility? OR, was it one more attempt by a bunch of MAGA maniacs to once more feel emboldened by their own Republican Politicians, hatred, and bigotry, and act out their own form of Racism?

I must wonder, how proud African American Republican pundits politicians in this nation can still pretend to be, to think THAT SOMEHOW, when Racism runs rampant, it is somehow directed to anyone but themselves. Yep, I am calling out Candace Owens, Tim Scott, Mia Love, Ben Carson, and Clarence Thomas.
