one day

One day, and what a difference 20 some hours can and will make in the way we live our lives, the way we face the future, and the way we decide whether freedom and equality matter or must be muted in favor of bias and bigotry.

For some the bright sunlight of November 2 is poised with promise that the same guys and gals (who brought us little to no regulations, weapons of mass destruction, tax breaks with a trickle up effect, truth altered to fit the lies, and Sarah Palin) will once again be given permission to run roughshod and mow over in great hurry the so called grassroots that elected them.

For some (who wanted all promises made by the Democrats to be filled and executed) will actually preside over their own execution of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness by not voting and think smugly they taught those bums a lesson by staying home. Many in a cavalier fashion will sit upon their hands and not vote--- thinking that not voting for the lesser of the two evils will make a statement. Once you let evil into your house it is so hard to exorcise it out. (Anyone who watches horror movies knows that).

For some it is all about the economy. For some reason the same band members of the past 10 years, who played tunes off key to wreck the economy have suddenly taken music lessons and now with no more than some fast talking, lose facts, fancy fabrications are considered musical maestros. They said yes to spending, big businesses, corporations for 8 years, sat upon their hands for 2 years and now we are to believe they have changed their tune.

For some it is less recognition of any inroads made and more anger at the arrogance of not going the distance promised by the Dems. For some reason those who gave a little are going to gain our disdain and those who dismiss any and all freedoms and equality will cross the finish line smugly swearing to keep the downtrodden down.

November 2, 2010 is finally fast approaching and for some this may be, could be a turning point that is so swift in its twists and turns that whatever came before will vanish never to be seen again. We are told by candidates government is too big, but government is not too big to block women’s reproductive rights, rights for gays, rights for immigrants, rights for the poor. We are told that the Constitution needs to find it s roots and its and original Christian meaning, and if that doesn’t work then like the Christian Crusaders of the past we need to use bullets instead of ballots. We are told it’s about the economy stupid, so no need for unions, minimum wage, and keeping jobs in America---nope it is about no regulations for health care, oil industries, financial institutions, tax breaks for the wealthy and undisclosed buy outs of political campaigns.

November 2, 2010 and smart people are still undecided... not voting...going to vote out of anger and vengeance. We want FOX News Pac, Rush Limbaugh, Newtie Gingrich, Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell, Jim DeMint, John McCain, Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Joe Miller, Ken Buck, Marco Rubio, Carl Paladino, Carly Fiorina, Rand Paul, Pat Robertson, Rich Iott, Michele Bachman, Rev Fred Phelps, Liz Cheney, Ann Coulter to celebrate and mold America into we versus they, divide and conquer, lie versus truth? Is proving a point really worth all of that? And what exactly is the point?

November 2, 2010 some 20 hours away and we still have a chance to make a difference that will provide hope not hate, chance not cowardice, change not consequence. Vote for an America that can still find promise, not one that promulgates fear, loathing, scapegoats and lemming like behavior. It is in our hands, until our hands become tied and shackled and our voices muted and mum by those who want to deny and derail democracy.

November 2, 2010 and you are not going to vote to spite whom…really?
