Groundhog Day, today, this February 2, 2020, and once again repeating itself, looking for that ray of sunshine, either predicting bad weather for the future or GOOD, the Groundhog will appear, do its thing, and be forgotten until this time next year. Super Bowl Sunday, today, this February 2, 2020, and we are told by the Talking Heads, that Americans need this day, just now, to make us feel GOOD! Corporations will fill the airways with multi-million-dollar commercials, millions of dollars in preparations for the Super Bowl have been spent, the mere mortal will pretend their TEAM will make America be GOOD, and for some, we will pretend that GOOD, has come back to this nation. Celebrate America don’t look at the chaos and confusion, the consequences, and crimes, collaboration, and sinister demise of democracy, pretend, as the Groundhog sees his shadow that GOOD is awaiting us just down the corner. Eat drink, be merry, celebrate and forget, that the spiral away from what used to be GOOD has begun!
GOOD/ having the qualities required for a particular role. Now, we, who still have empathy, compassion, knowledge, morals, and values are being bombarded with a new definition of GOOD. This four-letter word remains spelled the same, but its definition is now that of another dimension, no not the Twilight Zone, but of a Trumpian Dystopian DIMENSION. Now we have “GOOD Nazi’s, and added to the redefined definition of GOOD, it seems we have “GOOD CHRISTIANS,” you know the ones who surround themselves around Trump, laying hands on the new Disciple, but looking the other way when it is convenient for him to lie, steal, cheat, commit treason, and punish the demographic’s he so hates. We now have “GOOD Republicans,” you know the ones loyal to the Party, not the People, loyal to the Chairman, not the Constitution, loyal to the Dark Money American Oligarchs, but not to the American Constituent. We have been made aware that now we have “Good Lawyers and GOOD Justices,” the ones who deny that witnesses and a paper trail, do not matter, facts are useless if they don’t fit the fiction they want to replace truth, and that for the common woman and man Lady Justice remain unharassed, but when a King is sitting on the throne, Lady Justice can have her blindfold ripped off her scale of balance torn from her hands, and her virginity her sheer innocence deflowered. “GODD,” has become the new BAD. BAD has become the new norm. Normal is no longer a relevant term!
Today, this Sunday, February 2, 2020, we will watch a mammal look for the sun, gladiators fight for our turf, Corporations spend millions not on helping the climate, feeding the poor, finding shelter for the homeless, but to make certain Americans pretend that GOOD has remained in place for at least one day. It is Groundhog Day, but look around America, because the “GOOD GOP,” has made certain things will never be the same…AGAIN!
