Opinions:
Almost like breathing, we all do it. Opinions, some very minor, some very particular, some with ramifications larger than life. We can opine about your newest hair color, the color you just painted your house and the fact that people of color are either less than or equal to us. We can provide opinion about how the neighbors have a lousy marriage, are the most loving couple, or that Gays should never be permitted to marry. We can share our thoughts about the USA being the freedom country of the world, wishing we had more free time, or how important it is to remove the same freedom we enjoy from those we deem non deserving of that freedom.
Opinions:
Once we let them loose, sort of kind of give them a life of their own, permit them to breathe and roam, they become independent and often times like Dr. Frankenstein we wish we had never created such a monster. Once we state just how we feel from the mundane to the major, from the idiocy to the ideological, from the logical to the loony we have provided insight into our own emotions and prejudices whether we realize it or not.
Opinions:
Dan Cathy, President of Chick fil A, stated his opinion regarding Gays marrying and was loud and clear that he preferred the Biblical definition of marriage as the correct path for all Americans to follow. He felt it was necessary to state his opinion about recognizing or not recognizing freedoms and issues of equality for a demographic, the LGBT community to be exact, all supposedly based on his opinion of the Bible.
Opinions:
Some people were appalled. Some applauded. Some were outspoken against and some spoke in Dan Cathy’s favor. This is America we were told by his supporters, all Mr. Cathy was guilty of was enjoying his First Amendment rights. This is America we were told by his dissenters and anyone who speaks up against civil rights needs to hear the opinion from those who DO believe fair and equal is for EVERYONE.
Opinions:
It is my opinion that when any American speaks up AGAINST freedom, equality, fair and justice for any population anyone with morals, ethics and compassion must express their opinion louder then the bigot, the bogus and the biased. It is not okay to express an opinion that denies ANYONE the rights you enjoy. It is not okay to use the Bible as a replacement for the Constitution. It is not okay scream hate and then coyly wrap it up as the word of God. It is not okay to be the president of a company providing services to the American population while paying privately for their second class citizenship. It is not okay to permit some to be free and insist others have restrictions.
Opinions;
So in my opinion anyone out there who thinks we have infringed on Dan Cathy’s prerogative to hate, without him realizing the consequences of that hate speech, read aloud WE THE PEOPLE...When it was written it meant ALL OF THE PEOPLE. Mr. Cathy is a homophobe who uses God and the Bible as a scapegoat for his hate. And he has to be called out for that arrogance and ignorance.
Opinions:
We express them but we must realize how vulnerable they leave us once spoken, and the kind of damage they display once said. Mr. Cathy you said same sex marriage is a sin, you have paid groups of haters just like you to deny the rights for same sex couples to marry. You expressed your opinion and you are wrong as it relates to what America is really all about! You confuse the Bible as the Constitution you confuse God’s love for hate, and you refuse to accept how much damage you have done toward people, who only want to marry the ones they love. Shame on you, Mr. Cathy and reap the negative responses you have sown. And that is my OPINION!
