Avoidance had always been a key element in the foundation of my nuclear family, growing up in the 50’s. But then again growing up in the 50’s had included very restrictive standards to be met, and there were few if any grey areas in which to float and find freedom. Coming from a Jewish background, with only my parents as first generation Americans, I remember just how silent, and intentionally quiet family functions would become if in fact some cousin or uncle or aunt had acted in a manner NO ONE WISHED TO ADDRESS OUT LOUD. My sisters and I knew when something bad was happening or something to be ashamed had taken place, because suddenly a whole bunch of Yiddish was spoken, quickly quietly and if was the female relatives speaking, they stood in a circle if it was the male relatives talking, a bunch of cigars were lit heads were sway left and right, and many an index finger arose poking someone in the chest. Relatives would discuss amongst themselves, but never approach the actual relative who was cheating, was drinking too much, was embezzling or whatever the irreverent act might be.
AR-15 Rifles are generated to murder many people, instantly, precisely, without empathy, sympathy. AR-15 Rifles were invented as weapons of war. AR-15 Rifles are mean, are destructive, and are used so there is a victor and there are dead people, it is not an either or, but someone lives many die. It matters not your mental state, it matters not your gender, it matters not your height or weight to be able to fire one of these. What matters in fact is your intent. What matters is that YOU, whomever you ARE decided to purchase a weapon of war. YOU decided that for some inane or is it insane reason that a weapon designed for the battlefields, leaving no causalities behind just dead bodies, was or is a necessary item for YOU to own. Trump/Pence/Rubio/the GOP et al.the NRA own up to the fact that there is really no reason for any one let alone an American to own an AR-15 Rifle unless on day, way back in that part of your really spooky part of your head, you want to murder someone!
Growing up in my family, when my relatives wished to deny the truth about one of their own they spoke in Yiddish to avoid the real meat of the issue. Currently the murderous NRA and their paid to play Republican puppets use the word mental health or better school security to hide the fact that IN FACT they know just how lethal and deadly and dangerous the AR-15 Rifle can be and has been!
