THE SHOW BUSINESS

 THE SHOW BUSINESS! Back in the days of black and white TVs and the youngest child acting as the soon to be invented remote control, with the next oldest child handling the precise movements of the Rabbit Ears, and one or both of them in control of the very edgy horizontal and vertical dials, usually whose directions for adjustment were Commanded by a Mother or Father or in our house a VERY BOSSY older sister… we would all gather around the TV and watch the ACADEMY AWARD SHOW. It was an event, in which my mother would have baked a cake, cookies, and popped enough popcorn to feed an army. (It was buttered popcorn, just to make us feel that we were actually in a movie theater.) Back in those days, we of course only spent time in the movie theater on Saturdays at the neighborhood movie palace called the Manor, where for 25 cents, a kid could spend 3 hours watching 25 Cartoons, a dozen Previews, and a Matinee of two features in CINEMASCOPE! We were given 50 cents for food, other than the lunch and snacks our mothers prepared, and in our case, it was the best Hebrew National Bologna Sandwiches! But I digress…Because on Oscar Night, no matter how poor we were, no matter how middle class we were, no matter how much of budget we were on, WE suddenly became involved in the lives of “THE RICH AND FAMOUS,” and we considered it a treat. I loved the fantasy, the let's pretend, the whole idea of “THERE’S NO BUSINESS-LIKE SHOW BUSINESS.”

 

I love FILM! I adore Movies, and for me, Cinema is an escape to some creative environment. As I grew older and those Good Old Days became more abundant than the soon-to-be Good New Days, I became more aware of the HAVES in this world and the HAVE NOTS.  What once seemed common and ordinary to me, began to fade into a kind of WHAT THE FUCK, JUST HAPPENED, and a who is IT that sets the standard of ACCEPTABLE or NOT ACCEPTABLE. FILMS, MOVIES, CINEMA remain a genre of entertainment in which I can fly high, leap mountains, become a hero, and sing and dance my way to a happy ending, (Of course for me BROADWAY MUSICALS, do that best), but sadly the business of SHOW BUSINESS, darkens the once bright eyes spirit I once had.

 

Joe decided that maybe this year we should watch the Oscars. We have a plethora of Cable Choices, but on Sunday we were tired and wanted something less taxing. What I witnessed at the OSCARS was a DEMONSTRATION of the HAVES having no idea of REALITY, and showcasing for the HAVE NOTS, that mere existence is nothing compared to overpriced fashion/overpriced jewelry/bad taste pretending to be CLASSY/Nobody’s suddenly becoming Red Carpet leeches, and SNOOTY BULL SHIT being as phony as watching and EMPEROR meander down the lane with no clothes. And the topper for me was the demonstration that if you are considered Entertainment Royalty you too can commit violence and receive a standing ovation. Oh yeah, and in the real world of death, dying and murder, and pain, if you are the HAVES a split second of mentioning THE REAL WORLD makes your soul eligible to fly to HEAVEN. (This year’s OSCAR BLING BAGS were estimated to cost $140K each…imagine if the ACADAMY suggested LOUDLY, spend that money on Ukraine/Poverty, Food and Shelter in the US!) There are the HAVE NOTS and DAMN a whole bunch of HAVES who just demonstrated to HAVE does not mean you HAVE A LOT!

In the Musical production of Peter Pan, the VILLANOUS, VILLIAN, of them all CAPTAIN HOOK, has a special waltz dedicated to his MISDEEDS, DIRTY TRICKS, AND ALTOGETHER NASTINESS. Captain Hook seems to swim and swoon in the most sinister of plots and ploys, enjoying each and every drop of oozing Puss and Putrid he has concocted. In the end, HOWEVER, as was the case in MUSICAL COMEDIES of yesteryear, the bad guys LOSE, they succumb to the virtues of GOOD, and suffer the actions of their ill-fated consequential BULLYING!

 

So it seems to me, that instead of actually having to pay for COMMERCIALS, nowadays, in which to illustrate their desire to become the MAGA/TRUMP candidate the bevy of Captain Hooks only needs to be a REPUBLICAN, with a CITIZEN PAID, BULLY PULPIT. From the SIDE-SHOW ANTICS of CRUZ/HAWLEY/GRAHAM during the Supreme Court BS Confirmation Hearings, to the Governors of the AMERICAN SOVIET SATELLITE STATES of Texas and Florida (Abbott/ DeSantis), the THEATRICS OF BEING THE… Who's the dirtiest dog in this wonderful world?

Seems a whole lot of TRUMPEETERS kind of sort of, want the TRUTH to DIE, as they had hoped DEMOCRACY would have died during the January 6^th COUP/INSURRECTION attempt. Seems the INNER CIRCLE of TRUMP SEDITIONISTS, figured they could insight a REVOLUTION, acting as ARSONISTS, trying to burn down the CAPITOL, and then slither away from the SCENE of the CRIME pretending that just a BUNCH of GOOD ole Boys and Girls, were the real culprits in TREASON! Of course, none of these CRIMINALS are brave enough NOW to admit to their TRAITORIOUS machinations, they were proud when they thought they would not be held accountable, but as are most BULLYS, once FOUND OUT TO BE THE FRAUD they always were, they COWAR in the dark recesses of the PATHETIC!

 

Time is running out for the Majority of Dems in the House, and as a CONCERNED CITIZEN, I am becoming afraid that JUSTICE may never see the true light of day. I AM SO TIRED OF THE PRIVILEGE of the ENEMY, using the same SYSTEM OF JUSTICE, they despise, as a shield of protection to keep their EVIL ACTS from being detected!

MIND THE GAP

 The one time I traveled to London, visiting a local, we took advantage of LONDON UNDERGROUND (subway system). An amazing amount of TOURIST ATTRACTIONS was able to be witnessed, with this ease of travel, the low cost to get around within the city of London, and for me being able to do so without getting lost! (My sense of direction is so terrible that at times I actually have to take photos of where the entrance was located so I can exit without being locked inside the building.) Riding the UNDERGROUND, was fun but I remember reading the sign that said, “MIND THE GAP,” Hmm, the GAP, what GAP, I asked my friend, looking every which way to discover the GAP. “Look down”, he informed me, at your feet. There is, for some reason a few inches of distance between the platform and the actual car. Actually, for some the distance is like a GAP. If you don’t MIND THE GAP, there is a possibility of injury!” HOW brilliant (I was in London, so I had to think in a BRITISH kind of jargon and used the word BRILLIANT). MIND THE GAP, or else!

Just when I thought I was a MAVEN, regarding Paul Simon’s musical creations, I find a new “old” song, and as I listen to the lyrics, I am transformed back to my youth during the decade of the 70s. In college, during a time of great chaos, sheltered in my middle class, community, daring to hear questions asked that once were too taboo to even speak, wondering for the first time about life and death (I was listed in the Lottery and wondered about fighting in Viet Nam, and I actually had friends who were either drafted or enlisted), having lived through the assignations’ of JFK, RFK, MLK, the COLD WAR growing hotter, I felt that the future of MY WORLD was so close to falling off some HUMANCREATED PRECIPICE, that hope was all but abandoned. I grew older, I matured, but somehow the POLITICS of the WORLD remained as ADOCLECENTS, preferring to show the world how much TESTOSTERONE that lacked than BRAINS they should have relished.

 

I was a kid, a twenty-something. The movie THE GRADUATE, (Once again Paul Simon’s musical genius) had been a popular, coming of age film, and the quotes… Mr. Robinson: I was just telling Ben here he ought to sow a few wild oats.  Applebee’s Tone-Deaf Executive Giddily Says He Can Pay Lower Wages Because Of Inflation And Higher Gas Prices…When there is a crisis, there will always be people who look to benefit from someone else’s misery. In this case, it's Wayne Pankratz, an executive director of operations for American Franchise Capital, which owns 50 Applebee's in the Midwest. Applebee’s has both company and franchised-owned restaurants… The food chain’s executive sent out an email to colleagues gleefully saying that the combination of skyrocketing gas prices, inflation, the ending of enhanced unemployment benefits and lush stimulus checks from the government, will give the company the upper hand in dealing with workers. This would include paying staff lower wages. (Forbes) 

In a day and age, when there is so much more to be PISSED OFF ABOUT… one more douchebag pops his head out of his own ass, still sniffing his own perfume of stench and poop, and admiring his CAPTILAISTIC BADGE OF HONOR, pronounces the misery and woes of the WORKING CLASS, as a means to keep his BOTTOM LINE AFLOAT, and to make certain PROFIT triumphs over PEOPLE! (To be fair, Wayne Pankratz is not the only CEO to make his DISDAIN for the hourly worker known, BUT, Mr. Douchebag Pankratz, in the glory of his own ARROGANCE, made his HATRED for his HOURLY EMPLOYEES a public bit of knowledge and acknowledged his SELFISH, SELF-CENTERED, PUTRID INTENTIONS as to make an already AWFUL situation even WORSE!

 

As a reminder, APPLEBEE’S has a really sad and insidious history of EMPLOYEE ABUSES, so this round of pure GREED is not a new kind of revelation. EEOC Sues Applebee’s Franchisee for Sexual Orientation and Race Discrimination, Retaliation and Constructive Discharge. Employer Permitted Racist and Homophobic Slurs, and Cut Hours of Employee Who Complained, Federal Agency Charges. (US EQUAL OPPORTUNITY COMMISSION). But lo and behold, Mr. DOUCHIE, McDOUCHSTEIN felt comfortable enough to let the WORLD know, that once that ECONOMIC pain and misery prevail, so will CORPORATION GLUTTONY. Of course, the Board at APPLEBEE’S has not come to the rescue of its EMPLOYEES, as their official statement so far is that maybe Pankratz was not feeling so well when he wrote his text…

 

 And in closing, Pankratz contended that with the higher costs, people will need two jobs to survive, and the company needs to make sure new workers are brought in on lower wages. "Everyone has heard that gas prices continue to rise. The advantage this has for us is that it will increase application flow and has the potential to lower our average wage." So, basically, it’s, “This high inflation is good because all the little peasants will be forced back to work at lower wages than they should really be getting, but it doesn’t matter because they’ll be desperate for the money.”

Again and Again

 Having grown up in Pittsburgh, way back in the day, when SEASONS, actually consisted of four unique climates and temperatures; a 40-degree day in March with perfect blue skies, and tons of sun, was considered a luxury in which shorts and T-Shirt became approved clothing choices. Of course, our Mothers would disagree and assure us that even if IT WAS NOT FLU SEASON, parading around outside sans long pants, long sleeves, and a JACKET, was asking for TROUBLE. But somehow the innocence of youth succeeded long enough to play outside, and actually think that winterish weather was on its way out! (Never underestimate Mother Nature in Pittsburgh). Now that I am a resident living on Cape Cod, once again the temptations of sunny skies, birds actually back in my backyard, a certain smell of budding flowers (That is more of a wishing kind of thing than actuality a real ability), I was enticed to roam the great outdoors, pulling out my shorts from my SPRING COLLECTION of last year, and inhale SUMMER! 

 

My mood became a bit melancholy, however, and as bright as this day appeared, my mind began wandering toward the location of my WAY BACK, and I started wondering, what about today seems the same, yet different! Trying to diffuse any synapsis’ causing me to ask questions too complicated to configure and consider but desiring to do so ANYWAY! Finding my Ear Buds, fiddling with my I Phone seeking Siri to find JUST RELAX and CHILL Music, but without realizing it, I am seeking out music from the ’60s…a time of both direction ahead for me, and moments of worry that what will be, may not be!

For me, there is no greater GENRE of music than the words and music of BROADWAY. As ‘The Flesh Failures-Let The Sunshine In’, blared inside my head, sitting outside in my shorts and T-Shirt, too stubborn to accept the fact that at the age of 17, cold did not matter then as much as it did at 72, I recalled this MUSIC, and remembered the fear, loathing, dismay, distrust, concern, confusion and chaos I felt as war raged in Viet Nam, The Draft made war real, Women were being told how to deal with their own bodies, Racism reached into the places I once thought were fair and honest, Republicans decided to declare Right from Wrong and Good from Bad…and for me the realization that perhaps this HOMOSEXUALSCARY MONSTER inside my head was not just inside my head. I returned to the interior of my home, found my sweats and sweatshirt removed my EAR BUDS, and asked to no one but the four walls, WHY, AGAIN, AND AGAIN!

My observation is that ever since the TURD WARS which produced TRUMP, the Republican Party Politicians (Yep you too, Mittens Romney) had decided that not only was it A-OKAY to act as the BULLY, but that IN FACT their lowest form of lemmings identifying as the BASE, DEMANDED IT! Within the current crop of SELF-SERVING SYCHOPHANTS OF THE GOP, BECOMING THE BULLY is like wearing a tin foil MAGA HAT, curled up in NAZI Paraphernalia, wrapping yourself in a CONFEDERATE FLAG, proclaiming that JESUS anointed you to become the MORALS Police, and to defend Vladimir PUTIN, as a GOOD WARLORD! WHO’D HAVE THUNK, that after fighting a CIVIL WAR, defeating RACISTS, TWO WORLD WARS fighting against tyranny, and Fascism, surviving a COLD WAR, in which COMMUNISM actually was considered evil and a scourge against decency, let alone Democracy, a political party in the US, and its bevy of treasonists, insurrectionists, WOULD now proudly to boast of BIGOTRY, BIAS AND BOGUS…WTF!

Try to recall, in your youth, if you were ever bullied, and felt ALONE AND LOST…Try to recall, in your youth, if you were the bully, and finally came to terms with your own insecurities and made a change in your life…Try and recall how you FINALLY said ENOUGH and told the BULLY’s who haunted you, YOU ARE NO LONGER AFRAID…It is time for the rest of us to ACT UP ACT OUT…AND SAY ENOUGH, IS ENOUGH AND NO MORE!

 GOP Senator Mike Braun Claims He Didn’t Mean to Say States Should Be Able to Ban Interracial Marriage, Despite Saying It Multiple Times (Vanity Fair) 

Mike Braun is a nobody kind of Senator, lingering in the acrid glow of radioactive Right-Wing voter odor! Being from Indiana, the kind of place producing Bigots and Wanna Be High Priests and Presidents like Mike Pence, Mike Braun cannot help but think in a small, minded capacity, in a realm where real-world care and concern matter. His Constituents seem to hate anyone who is not like them, so he, having no intention of changing his status quo, and holding on to a top governmental job, feels at ease saying whatever is on his mind. And it seems, UNTIL HE WAS ACTUALLY CRITICIZED, what was on his mind is the very myopic idea that once upon a time HIS CHRISTIAN BIBLE, stated that the white and the black RACE should never cohabitate because somehow his GOD said so! BUT because Mike Braun IS one of only 100 Senators, the mere fact that his fickle heart believes that Interracial Marriage is still taboo, what this NOBODY OF SUBSTANCE SENATOR SAYS AND THEN DENIES SAYING, does matter.

 

State’s Rights way too often should be stated as State’s Wrongs. Mr. Braun got caught saying RACIST remarks. Because the GOP is good at pretending, Mike Braun actually said aloud the words, many GOP Racists believe, but will only whisper. Remember Stage’s Rights are the WRONGS that have brought back the use of hangers for child planning, brought back Voter Restrictions for People of Color, brought back banning books, and may soon try to bring back Anti-Sodomy Laws, and the very best of Opposite -Sex Marriages, no matter how many times you cheat on your wife or husband. By himself, Senator Braun is an aphid on the ass of a newt, but he may soon become a member of the Majority Party in the Senate, and if and when that happens, HOLY HELL will become the norm!

Pretty much every Republican senator today has argued against the dangers of judicial activism. Many have made arguments to the effect of, judges should not impose their judgment over the objections of elected leaders or the will of the voters… This is a recurring Republican talking point, but one that seems to magically disappear when courts make decisions they support. For example, it was only a few months ago that the Supreme Court overturned the Biden Administration’s vaccine mandate, in effect imposing its judgment over elected leaders and public health experts. Republicans didn’t complain about that decision — they cheered it. (MSNBC)

 

One never will TRULY know, why and wherefore, the FOUNDING FATHERS, (no women, no women behind the men, and why they were referred to as Fathers still amazes me) created the Supreme Court. I suppose people of the Federalist Society can pretend they actually knew what the FATHERS wanted, but let’s call bull shit, bull shit! Way back in 1789 there were only 6 SUPREMES! The number of Justices on the Supreme Court changed six times before settling at the present total of nine in 1869. So NO, all of you who have assumed that somehow the FATHERS and Jesus got together and created a 9 Justice SUPREMES, you once again got your facts confused with your WANNA BE FICTION).

 

So, just to be clear, as we watch the Clown Show of pretending to actually vet the newest SUPREME, and we watch (popcorn is extra) the GOP LIARS, HYPOCRITES, WANNA BE NEXT PRESIDENTS, try their best to feign concern for the country, all the while concentrating on their FUTURE CAREERS, try and grab a spotlight (only showcasing their complete disregard for TRUTH and JUSTICE), know that it took 3 SUPREMES only to actually become hits!

 A LOT of sunshine, almost crystal-clear blue skies, no snow anywhere, even on the hidden parts of our yard, where winter always seems to remain…BIRDS returning, all with the brightest of hues, shades, sizes, and shapes, the chipmunk babies curious and cautious all at the same time…the wild turkey’s schlepping their newest bevy of beauties to our backyard feasting on birdseed, of course establishing both literally and figuratively a pecking order! Having grown up in Pittsburgh, a day of 50 degrees, no wind and plenty of Old Sol pounding his chest, would have called for Bermuda shorts and a T-shirt, tennis shoes (Pittsburghese for SNEAKERS), and absolutely no winter clothes AT ALL. All the kids on our block would be outside, as our mothers would be bemoaning the fact that playing outside in March can only mean a FLU and Fever the next day! I was a kid then, so the BOOGIE MEN of an Ill-Fated Future, were nil and void! However now, although it is March, at my current age, I have forgone the shorts, and the rapture of being free from long sleeves and long pants, but still can recall the beauty of a SPRING AWAKENING! 

For the moment, when I can afford the time to sit on my porch, a bit bundled up with my Spring Ski Jacket, listening to the babble of the birds, almost hearing them say, just a few more weeks and this backyard will be OURS, I find peace. I remove myself from the madness of Talking Heads, Headlines, Cautionary Tales of Doom, Destruction, Devastation, and Death… I close my eyes, contemplating PURPOSE, REASON, MEANING, and HUMILITY, trying my hardest to believe that what counts is what is REAL…not THE invented projections of Humankind, such as War, Status, Greed, Gluttony, Fear, Loathing, Insecurity, Power, Money…

 

I have no idea how many Humans and Animals, have been massacred in Ukraine… I once was kept abreast about the innocents of this nation and of the world who succumbed to COVID…I have no idea how many Militia intended on destroying our Democracy… There are no statistics describing how purposeful voter disenfranchisement has denied people a chance to express themselves at the ballot… I may never know the total number of females who must endure a pregnancy against their own desires… A partial list of the EVIL that MEN and WOMEN do, but a nagging reminder that what MAN AND WOMAN create can too oftentimes, become an UNNATURAL event in our lifetimes! It is warm today, in the village of North Truro, I am lucky, so far to sit and wonder, have my mind wander, is this a true SPRING AWAKENING?

 CANCEL CULTURE. The first few articles I read this morning dealt with the issues of how effective it is, who is for it, who is against it, how intense it should be… IT, as in some inanimate object. IT, as in the actual profits made or potential losses accumulated! IT as in anything but human!

I am tired of the Koch Brothers or the Pizza Makers or the McDonalds explaining that CANCEL CULTURE is only about business decisions, as if, SPREAD SHEETS have lungs, a heart blood, and need oxygen to breathe. As if SPREAD SHEETS have parents or children! As if SPREAD SHEETS have souls or a conscience.

 

When an innocent HUMAN is murdered by PUTIN’S insane demand for war, when Hundreds are massacred by PUTIN’S henchmen, when Hospitals or Theaters are targeted by PUTIN’S SAD, SICK, DEMENTED INSECURE MANIACAL Legion of Russian Made Doom…WHEN THAT HAPPENS, that is the truest form of CANCEL CULTURE. Money will be found, again and again, Profits will rise and fall, again and again, Spread Sheets will rebound again and again…BUT HUMAN LIFE, once killed or murdered or destroyed is truly, a CULTURE, CANCELED!

 A Republican lawmaker in Missouri questioned a 14-year-old transgender, nonbinary child about their genitals during a legislative committee hearing earlier this month, according to a stunning video posted online Wednesday by Human Rights Campaign.

“Are you going to go through the procedure?” Sen. Elaine Gannon asks the child, Avery Jackson, seemingly referring to gender-affirming surgery, which is generally not available to a person until they turn 18, in the video. Audible groans followed… Avery told VICE News it was the first time a random grownup—not a doctor, not a medical professional—had asked them that kind of question. Their mom, Debi Jackson, added that what the video didn’t show was her squeezing Avery’s hand at that moment, “almost in an attempt to have myself not jump up.” 

“You shouldn’t be asking—let alone a trans kid, any kid,” Avery said of Gannon’s question, noting that’s how a person gets put on a “watch list.”  (VICE)

one more day

 I will be brief as I BLOG, which for me is difficult as I always am flooded with way too many synapses trying to understand right from wrong, good from bad, silence from loud, and fact from fiction. But as the year 2022 treads onward and outward trying to occupy the winner's pedestal as the worst year of the 21^st Century, I have actually become OVERWHELMED, with the misery, machinations, backward momentum, and mechanics that human beings have inflicted upon one another, AS IF ONE ANOTHER HUMAN, MATTERS NOT!

 

We watch as if tied to a chair with probes inserted into our skin, (INSTRUCTED to not move, OR ELSE) as INSECURE MEN AND WOMEN, declare war, trauma, pain, and suffering on others, just to satisfy their own bruised and disjointed EGOS! We sit there acting shocked as if the next bout of bad behavior is UNEXPECTED as if REACTION is the correct response! We are to ring our hands waiting, watching, awaiting the next round of inhuman hate and loathing. We somehow, as I see it, EXPECT the worse, see it as it actually happens, and they are to become SHOCKED!

 

If we are SMART, we are somehow drowned out by the DUMB. If we are AWARE we are called WOKE. And all I smell is the lack of ACTION, WHEREWITHAL, INTENT, coalescing with the burning flesh of those whose lives are always endangered! And I am SICKENED and SADDENED!

JUST ACT

 Today is a Sunday. It is another Sunday, in a year which so far has had 10 Sundays, and with this present Sunday, March 13^th, a total of 11 Sundays! I used to know when Sundays were to arrive, either because as a kid it meant going to bed early because UGH, school was the next day…being excited because the day after that particular Sunday was some kind of Monday holiday, so my weekend was extended…or as an adult using Sunday to spend leisure times with my kids, or just getting in as much rest as possible in order to face the next day; and wish and hope the next weekend would arrive already! Predictable indeed, that Sundays would arrive announced or unannounced, with GREAT fanfare because some GREAT event would be awaiting, or without any GREAT pronouncement, because, well Sundays just happen.

 

On this Sunday, I read, with GREAT consternation (I believe CONSTERNATION is similar to having a form of CONSTIPATION, instead of it forming in the bowel, it locates itself in the mind), that once again, some BAD GUY is warning anyone who IS NOT HE, that unless the rest of us acknowledge that HIS BAD BEHAVIOR is tolerated, some kind of HELL ON EARTH”, will have to be paid. This bad guy, in particular, is Vlad Putin, the puppet master of TRUMP, and apparently way too many other Republicans. It seems we are to accept Putin’s INVASION of Ukraine, Putin’s demonstration of male impotence as he rattles the NUCLEAR BOMB threat, and Putin’s fear of being emasculated as he tries to become the KING of Europe! So it seems, everyone else, who is NOT PUTIN is to ACCEPT PUTIN’S aggression, and REACT instead of ACT!

 

HUH!  The Florida Legislature’s failure to pass a bill mandating regular condominium inspections leaves in place a lax regimen experts say is full of glaring loopholes that endanger residents of aging buildings… The bill would have required periodic, routine inspections of most condo buildings — something that doesn’t exist under current law. The main disagreement was over a mandate that condos set aside money to cover future repairs.

The bill was prompted by the catastrophic collapse last June of the Champlain Towers South condo in Surfside, where unit owners bickered for years over paying for needed structural repairs, delaying the work. The building partially collapsed as work was finally underway. (Miami Herald)

 

Idaho’s bill, H.B. 675, is an addendum to an existing ban on female genital mutilation. It proposes that gender-affirming care for transgender youths, including hormone therapy and puberty blockers, be categorized in the same way that castration and hysterectomies are for minors… The bill, passed on a mostly party-line vote, would make providing gender-affirming care a felony, punishable by up to life in prison. It goes farther than other legislation by making transporting a child to another state to receive that care a felony, too…. There is clear overlap among the states proposing more aggressive restrictions on abortion and transgender youths: Alabama, Ohio, Louisiana, Iowa and Mississippi are all considering bills that would limit age-appropriate hormone therapy for minors. They are also among at least 26 states poised to ban abortion if the Supreme Court weakens or overturns Roe v. Wade, according to the Guttmacher Institute, a nonprofit research center that supports abortion rights…. Experts say the overlap is because opposition to abortion and transgender people have become litmus tests for the Republican Party… Last week, Dave Carney, a senior adviser for Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) reelection campaign, told reporters he considers the politics of the transgender youth issue as a “75, 80 percent winner” for the governor. (Washington Post)

 I am a Progressive, call me Liberal, but since the waning days of TRUMP sitting in the White House, the attempted Coup of January 6, 2022, and the fallout of nuclear VOMITING induced by the TREASONOUS REPUBLICAN PARTY, I have had to, as Larry David might say “CURB MY ENTHUSIASM”, regarding the presentation of the news by some, two of my former favorite Broadcasting Networks, MSNBC, and CNN. It just became too unfathomable listening to the many Talking Heads of those Networks, insisting that there is good or bad, bad is awful, and good SHOULD regain its IMPORTANCE as the CHOSEN behavior of (for lack of a better phrase…) GOOD PEOPLE! Play by the rules, and eventually GOOD will WIN…

 

The saccharine like commentary of how bad the BAD PEOPLE had become, and how the GOOD people must persevere and remain GOOD (pretending that to play by the rules of DECENCY, it shall manifest into some heavenly way forward to a BETTER horizon); made me nauseous, nervous, and ANGRY! No Nope, Nada, the broken rules by TRUMP his Clown Car of Puppet Politicians, the Far-Right Lemmings, So-Called Evangelical Christian Crusaders, and Congress People who seemingly should be tested for the ZOMBIE Virus, can never be fixed, nor will the MAGA, FOX News Entertainers including the Murdoch Family, Oath Keepers, and the Right-Wing American styled Oligarchs ever intend to fix what they have destroyed.

So by mistake as I was driving, I hit the up button on my radio, and suddenly I heard someone On CNN debating if Putin had caused enough damage to Maternity Hospitals In Ukraine, having used “DIRTY BOMBS,” those with no specific target except to mill, then in a hurry, I continued to hit the up button and found my way to MSNBC, where another debate was raging as to whether innocents in random apartments hit by the bombs of Russian Troops commanded by Putin, would indeed call for Putin to be considered committing WAR CRIMES. WTF, I shouted as if the worse scenario of ROAD RAGE found footing in my body. Dead Ukrainian Civilians, Dead Infants, and Children, Dead Men and Women, all DEAD because Putin ordered an INVASION OF UKRAINE… And with the privilege of being Americans pretending that this war is some kind of Netflix Series, we discuss, debate the BLOODY HANDS of TRUMP"S BFF, and the BFF of way too many Republicans PUTIN, and if now or later he should be charged with War Crimes. I almost had to pull off the road, needless to say. Once I got home I made certain to remove the CNN and MSNBC stations from Sirius XM!

"We were opposed to the bill from the outset, but we chose not to take a public position on it because we thought we could be more effective working behind the scenes engaging directly with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle," he told investors, noting efforts had been going on for weeks. "I understand our original approach, no matter how well-intended, didn't quite get the job done. It seems to me that Disney CEO Bob Chapek assumes that the everyday life of the LGBTQ Americans starts out with “ONCE UPON A TIME and ends with ‘AND THEY LOVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER, by just not taking any responsibility and doing a damned thing about making it so! It seems to me that once again a CEO, in this case, Bob Chapek of Disney has placed the profit margin of his MEGA-CORPORATION above and beyond the harsh reality of hate, bigotry, insecurity, and political ambitions of the men and women of the American Soviet Satellite known as FLORIDA!

So, Gerry’s Lament concerns itself about the CONSTANT, barrage of political headlines, which I find both alarming and annoying, insisting that the REPUBLICAN PARTY, (the Party of Trump/Insurrection/Racism/Pro Putin/Coup Conspiracies to name a few) will gainfully and as I see it PAINFULLY become the majority Party in Congress during the 2022 Mid-Terms. Somehow, Voter Restriction, Blatant Anti-Semitism, Bigotry, Homophobia, Misogyny, and Anti-Democracy are just a slight pain in the ass, not as worrisome as Gasoline Prices, Maintaining Sound Medical and Scientific Health Standards, and Inflation (somehow the Corporations never suffer from Inflated prices, they have caused by selfish and Capitalistic greed!) It seems according to the Media Wanna Be Mavens, that no matter what, and IN SPITE of hatred toward the welfare of anyone who is NOT MAGA/Oath Keeper/QAnon/FOX Viewer and lovers of Dictators and Con Artists, way too many Americans will somehow throw caution to a hurricane of Lies, Sedition, Anarchy, Lack of Fair and Equal and our Constitution, because somehow trying to save lives from the ravages of COVID, permitting all Americans equal opportunity to vote, Women’s continued rights to their reproductive lady parts, and striving to save democracy from collapse are not a part of a HOUSEHOLD BUDGET!

Don't Say

 The Parental Rights in Education bill, dubbed the "Don't Say Gay" bill by LGBTQ activists, has now been passed by both the Florida Senate and House. The bill would limit what classrooms can teach about sexual orientation and gender identity.

Under this legislation, these lessons "may not occur in kindergarten through grade 3 or in a manner that is not age-appropriate or developmentally appropriate for students in accordance with state standards."…….. The bill would also allow parents to sue schools or teachers that engage in these topics. (ABC News)

 

Not a person who identifies as an LGBTQ individual, so this LAW is of no concern???? After all AIN’T sexual identity an icky subject anyway!!!! And if as a parent you just believe that being a HOMOPHOBE is your God-given right, because your written by God Bible has told you so!!! And Ain’t this a Christian nation, after all, cause when all is said and done your Christian Bible usurps some human-written US Constitution!!! This AMERIKA, by God, and freedom of speech is only for God-fearing real American citizens, none of them sodomites, sinners, charlatans!!!!

And then what about those IMMIGRANTS of color, other than black? Hurt them in the pocketbook for victory, so it seems!

 

In the US, however, it seems that the Ultra-Wealthy, as in the American Oil Producing Cartel, are exempt from participating in a worldwide war effort to punish the Russians. In my opinion, it might behoove the American Suppliers of Oil, to not pretend that SUPPLY AND DEMAND and many CAPITALISTIC methods tried and true from the past, to enhance their bottom-line, be implemented. As the price of a gallon of gas rises in this nation, way too many Democracy loving Americans forget about the struggle for freedom and liberty in Ukraine and instead struggle to pay for oil at home. Perhaps the American Oil Cartel CEOs and their Boards, might become a bit more Freedom Loving, and lower their prices for now!

I remember during elementary school, especially in the winter, when radiator heat permeated the classrooms, with windows being tightly shut, cloakrooms stuffed with winter apparel, the odorous, overly exaggerated perfumes worn by the teachers, just how much the sense of smell had been overbearing and seemingly working non-stop. At times, as if the confusion of all those smells was not enough to make a nose go on strike, there was always the Deadliest of STANK and DISGUSTING fumes running rampant, the SILENT FART! Someone would cut that fart (I love the term to cut a fart as if the fart itself once set free had been formed from some larger lingering obstruction in your bowels), and to tease you, someone would just let a cut of fart float, warning you that more could be on its way. If the teacher was walking around the rows of desks, and the fart traveled your way, it seemed mighty possible that she was the fart originator. And worst of all, if that silent but deadly fart happened to settle above your head as the teacher was standing right by you, it was impossible to recognize the fart, and the misery of letting that STENCH settle into your nostrils was painful.

 

FOX Entertainers and FOX itself remind me of that DEADLY and SILENT FART. And just like the creators of that fart, the clowns at FOX, love to release the smell, the odor, the calamity, that a fart creates, and those minions of mayhem and madness at FOX, refuse to ever admit that in fact, they are the owners of the smelliest and foulest farts man and womankind have ever witnessed. So at FOX PUTIN is COOL, PUTIN is an extension of TRUMP, TRUMP is a cut of a larger turd which is PUTIN, and as long as no one takes responsibility or is held responsible, murderous, contemptible, maniacal silent farts will float freely at FOX!
