OUR OWN

“People would rather live in a community with unreasonable claims, than face loneliness with their truth” ― Bangambiki Habyarimana, Pearls Of Eternity

“The fact is that we have no way of knowing if the person who we think we are is at the core of our being. Are you a decent girl with the potential to someday become an evil monster, or are you an evil monster that thinks it's a decent girl?"

"Wouldn't I know which one I was?"

"Good God, no. The lies we tell other people are nothing to the lies we tell ourselves.” ― Derek Landy, Death Bringer

“Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.” ― Jonathan Swift

Invasions of NATIONS, FREEDOMS, CHOICES, LIBERTIES…pick one choose ALL! And who is IT, that IS the AGGRESSOR? Are they NOT mainly the PERSON or PERSONS, who rely on the LIE, who admire INNUENDO, whose own self-esteem functions better when the attack, like acid, tears you apart insecurity by insecurity? No truth to be told by the BULLY, and the PULPIT from which HE, SHE, THEY stand is enforced by the lemmings who run around with their heads up their own asses; thinking “AS LONG AS IT IS NOT ME, I AM SAFE!”

We know their names, those who lounge willingly in LIES! In some situations we have permitted them to rise in power, pretending that as they speak of HATE, LOATHING, DISGUST, we can take cover hiding in our own SHAME hiding behind their words. In some situations we actually make the effort to enhance their RACISM, BIGOTRY, BIAS by voting them into power, convinced that as long as they have identified the OTHER as the bad guy, we can remain safe cuddled in our own blanket of BOGUS. I have to wonder, way too often, RECENTLY, is there ever a point in the lives we live, when the lives of others become as important as our OWN?
