Tea

Just a few years ago, I remember all of the talking heads discussing how the Tea Party was about to replace the Republican Party as the relevant Right Wing political entity in the United States. I had one of those yeah-boo moments, thinking maybe some of the politicians who most likely would fail the New Citizens Test or for that matter any 9th grade Civics Test, would disappear. But time is always full of surprises. 

Now it seems that the Tea Party was tame, just a mild joke a kind of little pain in the ass of America; because here in 2017, we have the Communist Party replacing the GOP. Yep, indeed, we have Republicans in favor of Putin, denying free speech, deciding that theocracy or oligarchy are the way to run this country. I believe they identify themselves as the Republican Communist Party. Scary.

The Tea Party reminded me of the time Alice landed in Wonderland and sat with the Mad Hatter, it was bizarre, brazen and boisterous…this new Party, the Republican Communist Party however is no innocent drinking of tea, it is similar to the Kool Aid, served to the citizens of Jonestown!

Vichy, again

THEN: After being appointed Premier by President Albert Lebrun, Marshal Pétain ordered the French Government's military representatives to sign an armistice with Germany on 22 June 1940. Labour unions came under tight government control. The independence of women was reversed, with an emphasis put on motherhood. Conservative Catholics became prominent. Paris lost its avant-garde status in European art and culture. The media were tightly controlled and stressed virulent anti-Semitism.

NOW: After being appointed President by Vladimir Putin, Trump ordered the Republican majority under the guise of Comrade Mitch McConnell to establish an authoritarian regime, dissolving any or all references to the US Constitution which permitted Free Speech, Free Press, and Free Access to the United States. This new regime, began to eliminate the already thin line between church and state and without any hesitation began the process of ethnic cleansing. Cabinet members were selected to eliminate, fair wages and of course those pesky labor unions. Public schools were targeted for being too liberal and replaced with charter schools for whom segregation was a top priority to keep the disabled and minority students away. The Conservative Evangelicals became prominent, which then began the cycle of women losing any independence they had already gained, and government control on their vagina’s. the media became the enemy and any reporting was described as fake and replaced with alternative facts, and the Press Secretary for the newly appointed dictator insisted that if the President says it, it must be true.

This was accomplished with the assistance of the Collaborators, the Republican Party who previously gained power through gerrymandering/illegal voter restrictions/unconstitutional Voter ID Laws, and the Enablers, the Democrats whose lack of resistance and continuous insistence to cooperate find consensus made them just as compliant as the Republicans. The Putin Government was a coup similar to the Fascist take over in Germany was performed in a democracy with aid and permission of a public never sure of the facts but certain of the fiction. Nothing like the stench of history repeating itself! 

Steve Bannon

Of course Trump is anything but a leader, and he should be made aware of that 24/7, HOWEVER, the guy who IS NOT the president/not an elected official/but seemingly IS the GUY in charge is Steve Bannon. Trump needs publicity, Trump does not, now, nor never understand the role of being the President. Steve Bannon knows very well the range of power of the Office of President. Steve Bannon does not respect the Republic nor has any desire for the sticky stuff related to democracy. Because Trump is too self absorbed or perhaps mentally challenged for the day to day of running the business of the soon too be once most powerful country in the world, Steve Bannon has, willingly, taken over that task, of course handing all of the kudos to Trump.We must fight Trump, but we MUST FEAR Steve Bannon!

And speaking of the New Order of governing for the USA, one must also look closely at the Collaborators, the Republican Party. My assumption is one of two ideas. First, Putin and his KGB gang of goons must have some REALLY, REALLY awful, illegal information on Trump and of course the Republican leadership OR Comrade Mitch McConnell and his anarchists REALY, REALLY hate this nation and have become home grown terrorists set out to destroy our democracy.

Not funny!

It might be funny, ha-ha funny, if the irony of the truth was not so dangerous. Trump, when asked about his travel ban regarding Muslims, looked into the camera (apparently there must have a been a commercial on TV before the cartoon show returned), and Trump’s response was, the ban …”Is to keep the bad dudes out of the country…” THE BAD DUDES, Trump, are already in the country, their names include, Bannon, McConnell, Ryan, Conway, Kushner and of course Trump. Three of the BAD DUDES, actually occupy the White House, and the two others hide in the recesses of the Capital. Perhaps your BAN should be more inclusive…

Speaking of Kushner, and not being funny but rather pathetic; it seems Jared’s own grandmother, and criminally convicted father seemed perturbed regarding the BAN to BAN BAD DUDES. It seems Jared’s great grandparent’s Jewish family were abducted, denied their rights and freedoms and died in a Concentration Camp. Hmmm, let me understand this correctly, Trump refuses to mention the words Jews or anti-Semitism on the anniversary of the Holocaust Remembrance because maybe Steve Bannon suggested that doing so, would piss off the White Sheets and Brown Shirts that support Trump…BUT Jared the Jewish son-in-law and husband of the converted Ivanka, remains silent, NOT insisting to his father-in-law, DUDE, your grandkids are Jewish, my ancestors were Jewish before they were murdered for JUST being Jewish! But then maybe Jared was too busy scheming for more business deals or helping his Jewish wife open up another factory in Ethiopia!

And this IS the new normal!

Prez Bannon

For what is it worth, and now a days there is NOT a whole lot of worth going around, at least Dick Cheney was elected to his position of VP before becoming the real President during the Bush/Cheney reign of power. BUT now, it seems not only do we have an administration unduly elected into office, but the newest President, Steve Bannon wasn’t even listed on anyone’s ballot in any of the 50 states. Like carbon monoxide, a silent but deadly gas, Steve Bannon has crept from the woodworks onto the the main stage, and the slow process of dying has begun for our nation. Trump’s ego is too fragile to think beyond what is good for Trump, so Steve Bannon has filled that gap. Promising Trump every wish he ever wanted and all the while keeping Trump’s tiny hands clean from the disaster and devious tasks at hand, Bannon whispers good tidings from Putin, and Trump continues to fill his pockets with gold.

It seems Americans have no time to learn any lesson from history. An amalgamation of power to the Executive Branch, tepid push back from the majority political party, a weak attempt by the minority party because God forbid they might be seen as obstructionists. Media silenced, creation of public disruptions, identification of enemies of the Republic, creative opportunities all staged by the new president, Bannon, to demonstrate that the Homeland, or will it soon be referred to as the Fatherland, is truly at risk of hemorrhaging. Close our boarders, build our wall and most importantly, create as much diversion as possible, as all Con Artists do, while they pick your pocket. One day soon Martial Law will become the beckon call, why, because, only Trump…oops I mean President Bannon can keep America Safe!

Hey America

Hey America…you think this ban on Muslims was just a random, ranting and raving on behalf of anything Trump…WELL WAKE THE FUCK UP…Pay attention America, CLOSE attention, you gotta start thinking like the soldiers of the Death Star, all pledging allegiance to Darth Vader…you first have to find the deepest depth of your black hole for a heart, discover your road map to the Twilight Zone of a soul and become the incarnation of human garbage i.e. (Conway/Bannon/Kushner).

Don’t pretend, for even one second, America, that this trio of misfits did not plan for the protests to take place regarding the Ban on Muslims…There will be a few more EXECUTIVE ORDERS, written by this clandestine rouge government and authored by Trump, that will make the current protests seem tame. Then, and here is the one of the real gotcha moments, Kelly Anne will appear on State TV i.e. FOX News, describe the protests as RIOTS, anti-American RIOTS she will speak with Sean Hannity i.e. Joseph Goebbels, Minster of Propaganda for the Reich, who then, that evening will  have an exclusive one-on-one with Trump. Hannity will first tell the Emperor, that his clothing choice is superb i.e. the Emperor Has No Clothes, and Hannity will spend the first few seconds rubbing away the brown stain found on his nose and lips. Then right in front of your eyes, just YOUR eyes, cause the Republican Collaborators have fixated their eyes on Vagina’s/Same-Sex, Sex/and the non-Christians who will be given one day to convert to Christianity or die. You will hear the hint of the necessity of Martial Law, to tame the anarchists!

Trump/Bannon/Kushner with of course Comrade McConnell who certainly understands just how much video and audio the Russians are using to blackmail Trump and of course the Republican Party, will confer with his Collaborators ie GOP, all standing behind Trump and with all the pomp and circumstance of the North Koreans marching in front of their eternal ruler, Trump will put into action Martial Law. Of course he will lie and tell those who still think the Earth is flat/ Noah had a male and female dinosaur on the Ark and that Hillary personally murdered the Embassy Staff at Benghazi, this is temporary…Uh, huh! So you say, Gerry STOP with the theatrics, the Conspiracy Theory, this not possible in the US of A…Okay, but remember that time, NO ONE said Trump would EVER be sitting in the Oval Office! Lets all pretend none of this is happening, just like the Democrat leadership i.e. the Enablers, have done over and over!

Ain't It Cool

Ain’t it cool you Log Cabin Republicans, this whole registry denying civil rights to the Muslims. You all so pompously bragged that personal freedoms for Gays was not as important as slaying the Muslim enemy. So your guy Trump is doing just that, imposing a form of Sharia Law, lets call it Trumpian/Putin Law. the thing is you phony Log Cabin Republicans, you know, you folk who believe you really are not as Queer as the rest of us, Trumpian Law does not include Saudi Arabia or Turkey, and in Saudi Arabia they love them selves some hanging/mutilation/ and castration of the GAYS. You Log Cabin Republicans, thinking your money/finances/ are gonna keep you safe…wonder how all of you will look wearing Pink Triangles.

Ain’t it cool, you silent members of Jared and Ivanka’s two shul’s, the one in NYC where Criminal daddy Charles belongs and has the audacity to sit in front of the Torah, and the new shul in DC, where the hypocritical Kushner family walk to shul, as if walking to shul is practicing the true meaning of Judaism. Ain’t it cool you silent Congregants and Rabbis’ to not persuade the most influential Jews in decades with access to the White House, to stop Trump, reminding him that you Jared come from a Jewish lineage whose ancestors lived through Registries galore, and you Ivanka now have Jewish kids…wonder how you Congregants can sit and pray and not feel the least bit of guilt…is it an Orthodoxy thing?

Silence, is not golden it as the LGBT community learned equals death. Silence is like premeditated murder, you watch, you understand, and yet you assist the culprits because you say nothing to stop their actions. Karen Pence

Hey Karen Pence, yeah you, wife of the guy who did a 360 degree turn losing any kind of pride to become the laughing stock of Trump. Kind of cute the way your husband has to walk at least 10 paces behind the Emperor with no clothes..kind of like Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth. I have a few questions Karen Pence. Now some people will say leave the spouses and kids out of this political mess, but I say I will do that when you and your husband leave the lives of the poor, the immigrant, the LGBT community and of course people who have those nasty women's plumbing problem..alone!

I read your bio, Karen Pence, in glowing form a kind of an all American love story, the tale is told of two love birds singing with a guitar. Your Lifetime Movie Bio also adds that you were a teacher, are a mother and of course a grandmother. CUTE, Karen Pence, but still I have some questions. Lets talk… If you were a teacher were you ever aware of the history of this nation, had you ever read the Constitution, did you ever have a discussion with your students about civics? And when you were a teacher Karen Pence, did you decide NOT to teach kids that were NOT white, or Christian, and had last names with a whole lot of vowels? Did you ever worry about the home life of your students, Karen Pence, if mommy was missing or daddy was gone, if they had enough to eat? HUH, Karen Pence, did you?

Karen Pence did you raise your children, Michael, Charlotte and Audrey with the moral of the story that Christian is good any other religion bad? When you and your family decided that life begins at conception, did you then turn to your kids and say, but honestly if they can’t pay their way once the water breaks, they are low life and do not deserve the same things as you, my precious offspring? Curious, Karen Pence, does their grandfather, Mike have the Vagina Police inspecting their chastity belts, ya know he kind of powerful! So much more to ask you Karen Pence, but let me leave you with this…you husband has embraced a man who lusts after his daughter had a child with another woman while he and she were married, is married for the third time, practically ignored his pay to play wife, and lusts longingly for his daughter, do you have NO problems with any of that, or are you just as much a hypocrite as your hubby Mike Pence!

Another Shabbat

Shabbat Shalom, Jarod and Ivanka, yep its me a fellow Luntzman, you know a Jewish person. I am sure you both are wearing your finest walk to shul outfits, feeling all blessed and buoyant, no cares in the world, in your gilded Ivory Tower World, you know Kushner’s the same world inside the White House where the two of you frolic and spend time with Steve Bannon, the self proclaimed man who hates Jewish kids…you know Jared, and Ivanka like the ones you have.  But no worries cause you two are a different kind of Jew…

Yesterday was Holocaust Remembrance Day, and Ivanka your daddy, you know the guy who would have loved to date you, (Now don’t get jealous Jarod), tried his hardest to read the script someone wrote for him, but somehow Trump never ever mentioned the word Jews or the words Anti-Semitism. Wasn’t that kind of queer Ivanka and Jarod, (oh no not queer as in the LGBT community, of course your father has no ties to them thanks to Mike Pence), but queer in the sense that 6 million unmentioned Jews died during the Holocaust due to Anti-Semitism. Now I know Jarod you were born into a Jewish family, wasn’t a Jewish criminal family, Jarod. so maybe you just took Trumps refusal to say the words Jewish or Anti-Semitism as an oversight. But you Ivanka, now you converted to the unmentioned Jewish religion, and that was a commitment, indeed. So as Luntzman, i am curious why you didn’t check your lustful daddy’s speech before he delivered it? I kind of missed your input to be honest, Jarod, you know the forcefulness you inserted to remove Chris Christie because he was doing his job as a prosecutor to send your criminal father to jail. I guess, Kushner’s the cat got your jewish tongues one more time, like the time you said nothing about the bomb threats to the JCC’s in this nation!

Contagious

How a monster is created. You take an empty vessel, void of conscience, but filled wit the fluff of narcissism, the poof of insecurity, and the ego so frail that just the wind whistling by will puncture the thin, thin membrane, you call IT Trump. Add a shadow man named Bannon, full of hatred, rewriting American history the way he preferred it to be and will not stop until his version of inequality becomes the definition of American life. You find a puppet master, masterful and brilliant in the Art of the Con, a higher level of now you see it now you don’t, Putin the Perfectionist, full of hidden audio, video and bank statements. Then you find a magpie, a shallow shell with no soul, unless that soul can be pimped out to ridicule, reducing the truth, reminding us of the ridiculous, never once looking at herself in the mirror because she is too embarrassed to see what is right in front of her eyes, call this THING Conway.

How a monster survives. Find the most cunning self absorbed crooks, paid by newly created people called corporations, men and women who insist on telling others how to live and die, but only thrive, themselves, on dollars coursing though their veins, they used to identify as the GOP, but the newer more destructive version is titled Republican Communist Party. Add a strong dose of spineless men and women who refuse to REALLY stand up for their constituents, who prefer backroom brawls, and who always like to sound tough but whose actions are so much less, they identify as the Dems or the Kick Me I Am With Stupid.

To survive. When the monster grows each day due to the inactivity of those in the most powerful of positions, who feed him by stroking his ego, or others supposedly in power, pretending to wait for the next thing to use as a weapon to knock him down are USELESS, it is once again TIME for the townsfolk to take matters in their own hands. Just saying we RESIST is not good enough, we must ACT, sooner, not later, because later the monster will have grown so large he will have cloned himself and then the situation becomes so contagious, no one has a chance to live!

Plan B

OK, GOP, I acquiesce, your plot, your plan, your purpose to have Pence as President has succeeded. While Pence is as bad if not even worse with his bigotry, misogyny, theocratic sense of government, his lies, his arrogance, his ignorance of anyone but himself…at least he is not mentally unstable, dangerously unsettling, and walking around as an Emperor without clothes.

Isn’t it about time, GOP to take step two in you anti-democracy scheme to defraud America. We all know, as well as you and your Comrade-In-Arms McConnell that a fair game, would leave the Republicans as a minority Party for decades. But your CON ARTISTRY is surpassingly superb, you take ordinary RUBES and make them extraordinary RUBES. Your ability to fool them once, fool them twice, fool them a million times, the DEMS is sheer magic. And you end game to create a one Party system is perfection. I remember when there was great talk about the Republican Party becoming highjacked by the Tea Party. Now that the Republican Party has been dominated by Vlad and his band of hidden cameras and tapes and of course his hired hacks, the Republican Party has no fear of the Tea Baggers taking over, nope you will now be known as the Republican Communist Party!

OK, GOP, you did it, now undo it, you know as well as the millions of Americans who did not vote for Putin’s pick, Trump as well by now, half of the other folks who DID vote for Trump, that he is a sick man, a VERY mentally ill/unstable/unsuitable/insecure/narcissistic nihilist! So lets get Plan B in motion and rid tis nation of one its most deadly and dangerous diseases…TRUMP! 

An Easy One

Man, this is an easy one: We all know how the Republican’s brag about privatizing everything and anything government, well Trumps’ Administration provided even one more department for perfect privatization. So Dem leadership (I never have any idea who that might be, it just seems as if it is some amorphous unorganized self serving entity…all I know is that I continue to receive at least a dozen emails a day telling me that just with $3 they can dump Trump)…But I digress…

Trump’s paranoia and worry about being called out for the fraud he is, has motivated him to stop any in coming calls to the White House call line. Trump believes if HE doesn’t see or hear it, IT does not exist. So, Dems place a little pressure on MSNBC/CNN/ABC/NBC/CBS/ and ask them to be a good American and take the responsibility to become the New White House Call Center. Simple, once a day, or maybe twice a day, without any partisan lead in and with no intonation of agreement of disagreement from the entertainers voice (I still have a difficult time considering most of these people journalists) Read aloud the complaints, the compliments whatever it is the American people wanted to express to the White House and the Trump Administration.

Dudes, this is super cool in oh so many ways: First, it makes the Dems seem that they too agree that in certain places Government is too big. Secondly, they can claim that free speech is a hallmark of this nation, and without disparaging our dictator, they just want to keep the First Amendment alive. and Third of all this will piss of Trump and his fragile ego, or is that dangerous ego. Such a cool and easy idea to keep the RESISTANCE alive!

Who Is

The Republican Party has always been sly enough to create enemies, and then become even more sinister in suggesting that if you disagreed with the GOP’s enemy of the decade, you too must be in cahoot’s with stated enemy. In the 50’s under the tutelage of Senator Joe McCarthy, it was the Communists who were at the ready to steal the white and blue from our flag and just keep it red. McCarthy with the support of a few men and women who feared a free press or even free expression of thought, garnered enough anti backboned politicians and the slogan “Have you now have you ever been a member of the Communist Party”, became as American as Apple Pie. It seemed like a simple yes or no reply was required, but with the Republicans it was not so simple. A response of no, was okay, but if McCarthy thought otherwise, you no might have surly been twisted to suddenly say kind of, and a kind of was not the correct answer. If you were brazen, BRAVE enough to state the word YES, well freedom as you remembered it in the good US of A was not as free as it used to be. You were an enemy of the state, and your career, professional dreams were shattered and you might face yourself in shackles.

The Republicans love to pick and choose who is a true American and of course who IS not. In a confusing, but not too surprising turn of events, the GOP is still looking for the enemy (usually it is anyone who dare criticize the Party Platform) and this time around the newest question follows the era of Mccarthyism, but states differently. “WHY are you not now, nor have RECENTLY NEVER been a member of the Communist Party.” The fear from the Republicans is no longer the Commies, but what the Commies might know about Trump and of course the hacked emails and server from the Republican National Committee. So now, becoming a Bro of Putin is cool. So fearful are the Republican leadership of America finding out the truth about the GOP’s plans for a less democratic vision of this country, that under the tutelage of recently promoted Comrade Mitch McConnell, Russia is good, great, best and huge! 

OBVIOUS

Why does it seem, way too often that I can see the obvious and the people with power and prestige always seem so oblivious? Seriously, this lack of the obvious is just one more item added to my shopping cart of why we won’t STOP TRUMP.

Here is the thing Dems/Media, you CAN NEVER argue or win a debate with those who thrive on hypocrisy, breathe ignorant air, and rely on attentive facts…I am sure there is a theory about that somewhere in Physics 101. Dems in particular, the Republicans understand your motives much better than you do theirs…Dems, you try to act civil, act in concert with the Constitution. Dems, hold certain morals and values high and some of you believe in country before Party. THE REPUBLICANS DO NOT! Media, you play that fair and balanced game acting more like FOX News in helping to disseminate more propaganda by always trying to be the news or trying way too hard for gotch’a questions…The Republicans know this, and all you do when you harp and harp for an answer is you make them look like victims and you the bully…REALLY! 

Isn’t OBVIOUS, already that anyone Trump will delay, defer, deny the truth. So why are you Dems/Media always trying to get them to answer your questions about fair/equality/the Constitution/ and democracy? Try the Dan Rather suggestion of just one question, give them a time limit to answer, do not use that time to debate, make sure it is a yes or no question…after whatever time you have had just enough, ask the question one more time and as anyone Trump hesitates, look at the camera and say to your audience “It was just a yes or no question and out guest can not or does not want to answer it. Go to a commercial, then return look at your audience and repeat the question, but this time use the words of anyone Trump who via, audio/video/or Tweet HAD already responded. Don’t give your audience the gotch’a face, just your best look of a journalist PUUNUM! And Dems, go on TV, local TV would be really cool, again reciting the question from which the Media tried to get answer from anyone Trump. Play a sniper of avoidance, then as the Media did, provide some real facts…again NEVER use I told you so face, just give us your America The Beautiful poised PUUNUM! It just seems so OBVIOUS! 

Hey Dems

Hey Dems, I have an idea…now it may mean you have to regrow your backbone, let alone your spine…but the effort might be well worth it. Trump is lying once again, the kind of lie that only stirs up spittle from the mouth of a sane individual and as usual all we are talking about is the popular vote count, trump so adroitly has discovered as the Republican talking point, so no one is STILL asking him about his taxes and conflicts of interest. So Minority Leader Schumer, here is the deal…You or one of the more brave Senators like Warren, Sanders and Hassan, offer a motion proposing that Trump in fact orders a recount of the election. Now if your arcane Senate rules (You all function as if it a Private Membership Club, so God only knows why you all permit the archaic regulations persist) state you CAN NOT propose such a bill, then do the following…find the same soapbox the Republicans always use and suggest in your most earnest voice that the popular vote seems to disturb Trump, not permitting him to work on his real priorities, so SUGGEST to rid this insidious weight Mr Trump should offer America an Executive Order…Hmmm..

Now the first thing that will happen is the GOP will sigh and stammer insisting that would just be outrageous, but Senator Schumer with the same double speak as the GOP lavishes upon each and every spineless Democrat Senator, you be the gentleman and insist, it is well worth the money, we want all of trump’s energy on his LONG AGENDA.

Now because you are the Minority Leader Senator Schumer, I am sure that Comrade McConnell who knows thew truth but FEARS it will try to shut you down…NOW, here is where that spine and backbone come into play..send your minions, those who don’t necessarily look or sound anti-Trump to EACH and EVERY News Outlet with your simple suggestion. If these entertainment stars (oops, I mean TV journalists) say isn’t this just a partisan ploy, use the alternative fact retort and say, if Trump is dismayed and is sure about the “rigged” popular vote, all that the Dems are doing is to help him prove his point…For goodness sake Senator Schumer start behaving like the same anarchists (The Republicans) do…sincerely Gerry Buncher who is sick and tired of receiving one more plea from the DNC for money…when this task will cost you nothing. And you know, if there was national recount, Trump would not longer be president…oh yeah he knows that also!

Do You Remember

I remember that time when Little Marco (This Senate stuff is too boring) Rubio and Ted (My dad said I am the next Prophet and Jesus visited my wife) Cruz both had a hissy fit, (It was a wild gyration enough to almost cause both of them hernias), when President Barack Obama first opened up diplomatic relations with Cuba and THEN had the audacity to say something nice regarding Castro’s death. I remember the time when terrified Lindsey Graham and his Bromance Bud the maverick John McCain complained that the Black guy in the White House would not and could not keep us safe from the Russians. He was soft on the Commies and Putin knows how to squash a marshmallow. 

Yep, those were the days…the time when the only folks who could keep America red, white and blue were of course the God fearin’, Constitution lovin’ kin of Ronnie Reagan, the guy who told the Russians tear down that wall, while at the same time telling us his heart and his head must have been in separate places cause he never recalled paying off the Iranians (Another example of why the American People should be privy to the physical and mental health of our leaders). The kind of red meat Republican who will kick your ass with our arsenal of nuclear weapons…who will send your boys and girls (Not many of their own kids, mind you) to war for oil, and then just renege, on paying for any recovery mental or physical health wise for the Vets.

Now it seems, the only colors this band of brothers is worried about is Red. Yep, all of the Senators mentioned just voted for Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State, you know, the guy who received an award from Putin for kissing ass so well. The guy who profited from increasing climate change by drill baby drilling in the Arctic…You know the guy who suddenly after two decade of killing the Earth for profit had amnesia saying he doesn’t remember a secret mandate he sponsored to deny climate change. Bold, Brave, Big, Better, what a Bunch of Buffoons. I can only imagine one of two things…The first is, ALL of these Senators know full well that a democratic process will never favor them, the Second is even more disgusting then the first, that is Comrade McConnell has informed these traitors and cowards that Vlady Putin has some juicy incriminating stuff on everyone Republican, and Comrade McConnell must have added, the stuff Vlady has would make the info regarding Hillary mild and tame. 

Under Oath

I learned yet another sad lesson regarding the process of our government. I had assumed (And we all know where that gets anyone), that the job of Cabinet Secretary is of particular importance. (Yeah I understand many of the appointees are political cronies, donors), but even with that these people, someone, eventually could be responsible for the lives, employment and futures for millions of Americans.

But today, as Senator Kaine did a superb job of calling out the homophobic, bigoted and misogynist ways of the billionaire (There is not enough Jesus in public schools, and way too many kids with disabilities) Betsy DeVos, the Senator made a statement which shocked me. While Ms DeVos used the usual con response of I will look into it, even though it is a Federal Law already”, schtick, Senator Kaine, said that there is nothing he can do to get a simple yes or no answer, as this is not a court of law and SHE IS NOT UNDER OATHE!

What the F$*(&^, NOT UNDER OATHE, you have got to be kidding me. I had no idea these hearings, regarding the potential Presidential Cabinet, do not require the potential Secretary to answer under OATHE. (Now I know that UNDER OATHE in the land of the current Republicans means very little either way) but as an American Citizen whose taxes will end up paying for the salaries and perks of these Cabinet members I want them to tell the truth or be held for perjury, when they end up lying. NOT UNDER OATHE, how does this stuff happen. First we have no term limits, then we have no say in the increase in salary the Congress receives, they dictate our medical insurance but we have no input on theirs. We can’t legally seek the tax returns of presidents, nor their mental and physical health conditions…and now THIS, potential high profile candidates are NOT UNDER OATHE, as they are being interviewed. This is just too much! 

COME ON

I decided after Putin placed trump in the Oval Office, I would detox from Cable or Network and kick my addiction to what I realized was entertainment wrapped in a box pretending to be news. (Where are Edward R Murrow and Walter Cronkite when you need them). Any item of the day I discover through various organizations that actually report the news and don’t try to BE the news. BUT, it seems that my gym now plays CNN on the screens in the locker room, and today was a very busy day in the locker room and i had to wait my turn to get to my locker because men my age apparently need to lay out their three towels, their underwear, shoes and socks on the bench and somehow prefer to stand not only in front of their own locker but the lockers adjoining them on either side. So I was stuck, either listening to the kvetching, complaining or just meandering thoughts of yesteryear (The times I was growing up)

There they were on CNN actually debating with a Trump-E-Teer, if there is such a thing as Alternative News…YES, they were debating with a Trump talking head regarding Alternative News, as if it was a THING! Well, here is the THING…The Republicans are great Con Artists, and they know exactly how to set a Roach Motel trap for both the Dems and of course as Sarah Palin seemingly now, put it the Lame Street Press. And it works all the time. First the GOP coin a phrase, like Death Panels, Mushroom Cloud, etc and suddenly all we (The supposedly educated folk discuss are Death Panels/Mushroom Clouds and now Alternative News, AS IF any of that stuff was ever real! The Republicans are sooooooo, good at the con, and the Dems and the Lame Street Press love spending their last nickel trying to decide under which cup is the ball or worse, another taste of Snake Oil! OY VEY, already, stop! 

I am not a journalist/reporter/tv executive but dudes and dude-ettes get a back bone or better yet a brain cell. CNN, here is how you handle this newest star in the galaxy of Double Speak by anyone Trump. You start out your news show (Its really a form of entertainment) by saying: Ladies and Gentlemen, here is the Trump administrations Alternative News, speak clearly and slowly give it about three minutes, stupid is easy to sum up quickly, THEN in a more dignified voice you learned from Announcer School, say: Now Ladies and Gentlemen here are the facts! Wham, bam and thank you Sir and Ma’m. Seems simple to me!

Fair

Recently there have been comments regarding Barron Trump, the youngest child in the Trump Dynasty. Many remarks have been hurtful, some have been sarcastic and others spiteful. The Conservatives are out raged and many Progressives agree with their anger stating that a young child of any president should be off limits of any criticism. (Except for the Malia and Sasha Obama, Chelsey Clinton, and Amy Carter…who just happen to be children of Democrat presidents). I might agree and usually do when it comes to a direct insult or insinuation toward this young child, to leave him alone…but then I think just how offensive Trump and his cohorts of the Republican Communist Party have attacked the children in my life and children of this nation. So I have to wonder, why must I turn the other cheek or hear the nagging phrase two wrongs don’t make a right. 

Betsy DeVos, the uneducated, illiterate nominee for the Secretary of Education, has insulted children who just happen to have disabilities. She has made it clear along with Jeff Sessions , nominee for Attorney General, that kids with disabilities are a drain on the educational system and even more crass, a pain in the ass for “NORMAL” students. Steve Bannon, Trump’s strategic planner, has made it clear that all Jewish kids are whiney and too pampered and he would NEVER permit his children in the same classroom. Paul Ryan has made it clear that school nutrition programs are just excuses to keep children in poverty, and Newt Gingrich had made it very clear a while ago, and hinted recently that if a kid wants to eat at school, he should work as a janitor. Are these not an attack on children. I don’t want to hear, yeah but they are generalizing…maybe but if you are the parent of or know even one child with disabilities, Jewish, living in poverty…it seems to me it is a DIRECT insult to Jimmy or Jane.

I don’t want to single out Barron Trump, Lord knows his father pays no attention to him, but for me the bottom line of this issue, is simple. The Republican Communist Party has indeed been sarcastic, spiteful, hurtful to children in America. by not calling them out by a name matters little to me, as the pain inflicted still effects a unique individual. So, if we are not to attack Barron Trump directly and permit the Republican Communist Party to continue its assault upon our kids, how is that fair?

The next day

It is a very grey day in Los Angeles, lots of drizzle in the air, the rain has finally found some footing in this city, providing a Sunday morning begging for movies made in black and white, a glass of wine in the afternoon, the cuddly blankets finally freed from the plastic binding them, to surround the Angeleno’s able to just stay in to think, contemplate and daydream. Growing up in Pittsburgh, this day, especially with the layers of clouds would warrant a thunder storm. 

I was lucky enough to have joined 750,000 people on Saturday, for the Women’s March in LA. LA had some of the most beautiful weather ever for this demonstration, we were lucky with the weather. I was able to join my daughter, and out friends. I had no idea just how large the March really was, but I knew that the purpose of the March had more reasons then the names of numbers. So today, as I watch the puddles finally forming on the uneven sidewalks, safe inside my home, I also have the time to contemplate.

Here is the deal…I will not delete you as a friend if you voted for Trump, so far we still have semblance's of free elections (well almost free no thanks to the Republicans), but I will ask you why do you want to be my friend, when in fact voting for Trump was like voting for EVERYTHING against me. I am a Jewish man, I am a Gay man, I am a Father, I have Sisters, my best friend is of Mexican heritage, my Husband’s best friend is African American. I am a Senior having paid into Medicare and Social Security.  EVERYTHING I am is exactly what Trump and his Con Men, His Strategists, His Propagandist PR people, His Family His entire life has been against. Trump has lied he has blamed everyone else for his own inadequacies. Look at the men and women he has nominated to be in his Cabinet…none of them desire the same things as I do and more importantly as I am. Of course Trump is not alone, he has his enablers, The GOP who have become less interested in Democracy and more concerned with agenda’s to please their Bankers/their Lobbyists and of course the Corporations who are now considered People. I am so glad I marched to communicate to this nation, ho unhappy I am regarding the ill willed, mean spirited, and actually evil intent of anything Trump, and actually those who had voted for him and have no remorse!

Shabbat  Shalom Ivanka and Jared Kushner,

(Oy, I said two Hebrew words…I hope Steve Bannon doesn’t read this Ivanka, I understand you two will sharing some very close office space. If he does read this you can say that you are learning some Hebrew to prepare your family’s immigration to Israel, you know to speed up the Rapture. Mike Pence and his cohorts of Evangelical Christians (Yeah that Mike Pence, your dad’s VP) have made it very clear that once all of the pesky Jews immigrate to Israel, or accept Jesus as their Lord and savior, or choose to die, the End Days will end sooner than later. And speaking of Steve Bannon, (you know the guy who has been quoted to say, how much he dislikes Jews, and would NEVER send his kids to any school with jewish students), Steve-o has been kind of quiet, (guess that was a good move on behalf of the Trumpeters. Steve-o has been as quiet about anything Jewish, by the way Ivanka and Jared as the both off you regarding the anti-Semitic activity which has been on the rise since your father decided to join forces with the Russians/KKK/and of course those adorable White Supremacists. The LGBT community had a quote for all of that they said “SILENCE = DEATH!

But I digress, Ivanka and Jared…Shabbat Shalom, I am sure this Sabbath you two will walk to your new shul, strutting down the street as if other Jews in America are experiencing the same kind of freedom…you know the freedom of arrogance. I wonder, Jared, when you stood at the Bimah and read your Haftarah or you Ivanka standing in front of all those male Orthodox Rabbi’s did either of you discuss that all Jews bleed the same, all Jews cry the same, all Jews mourn the same. Or, because of your financial status, were you told that maybe all of  that is true but all Jews don’t have gold flowing in their veins? Kinda sorta like the upper status Jews of Berlin and Rome, until their money became more important than their lives.

I am a Jew, Ivanka and Jared, not Orthodox, but Reform. I am certain we believe in the same God, but with both of your inabilities to speak up, speak out against the Alt-Right who gave your father the old Lets Make America Great and White and of course Christian (not any Christianity, not the ones with cooties like the Mormon’s or Catholics), I prefer my God. he has always been inclusive, always taught me to honor they brother. I once again shout SHAME, Mr and mrs Kushner…the two of you have such a platform from which to educate the USA about Jews, but instead you deny, you deflect and your behavior is quite disgusting. Sad

Eight years ago, America proudly made history, and in and overwhelming demonstration of democracy, we elected not only a man of integrity, hope and inspiration, but a person of color. America demonstrated to the world how inclusive of a nation we could and should be.

On January 20, America is also creating history, a we will swear into office our first Comrade, or perhaps the better, best word is Czar. We have demonstrated the ignorance, the arrogance, the paranoia and the lack of decency and have down graded our democracy to nothing more then a dictatorial third world country.

If history books are still permitted to be published, not banned like science studies, the arts, we will read that on Friday, January 20, 2017, a black hole was discovered in the United States, at the ready to eradicate and dim any decency, morals, values and ethics this nation had strived for. Sad!

RADIATION

Scientists have told us that the initial devastation from an atomic bomb exploding, can and will end the life of any living being situated in the targeted area. Scientists also remind us that acres, and acres, miles and miles of destruction are also common, leaving sheer nothingness. But then the scientists tell us, if you not directly in the path of the atomic bomb’s slamming onto the Earth, you still are not quite safe…no, actually you too will fall prey to an invisible, silent killer that will seep through your pores, sweep into your blood, and find harbor in each and every cell of your body…RADIATION. Scientists sometimes argue, which is the easier death, the immediacy of being torn to shreds or the slow, slow process of being eaten alive.

When the Russians and the Republican Communist Party hacked their way into our polling booths, sending fake news, lying, and looking the other way for any kind of justice to find foundation, it was as if the atomic bomb had been planted snuggly on the jet. The target was the American Democracy (something the Republican Communist Party had always feared). When Trump lost the popular vote, barely squeezing by a few important Electoral College States (no one’s ever taken the time to really scrutinize those votes) the atomic bomb situated snuggly on the jet was lowered and dropped onto the terra-forma. Damage had been done, and with most catastrophic events, the victims are too busy trying to asses their immediate condition to ever see the big picture.

January 20, 2017, the radiation from the atomic bomb locked and loaded by the Republican Communist Party, finally, officially, began to rain down upon a country foolishly thinking it was and is too democratic in nature to be poisoned. Bits of radiation sickness were already on the rise, with the nomination process of a Presidential Cabinet of crooks, liars, and cons. People began to display signs of radiation poisoning with propositions to gut ObamaCare/slash Social Security/oppose any information from the CIA/NSA, but history, (if books are still permitted to be printed titled History), will tell the story that entire populations began to rot from the inside out on Friday, January 20, 2017, when a narcissistic/self loathing/reality star/snake oil salesman sat atop that falling atomic bomb and shouted Yee-Haw! 

The Jews

For 30 some years I had the privilege and opportunity to work as a professional in the Jewish Communal Service. Of those 30 some years at least a dozen of them had me as the Executive Director, an honor for me but a job and title filled sometimes with deep dark worries. I HAVE been in a JCC when we received calls of terrorism, when we received bomb threats, when we just had calls telling us Jews were the scum of the Earth and WE all had better watch out. I had to multi-task so quickly that sometimes my brain ran a little behind my body in motion. Who should I delegate to assist in informing the entire staff of the JCC, who should I directly approach hoping to ease some of the turmoil. How should we tell the Dementia Unit that suddenly as if life was not already confusing we would be taking a little walk outside of the building. How should we approach our Senior Adults, some members who silently wore the scars of the Holocaust..or the others still harboring the fear, understanding that even in America they should remain vigilant because after all they were Jewish. How should I approach the Early Childhood Department, knowing that when I usually entered the classrooms, I was Mr Gerry there to spend as much wonderful time as I could to interact with these innocent lives. But this time try and disguise my sense of saving these innocent lives. How could we inform the parents that we were doing our best…how could we let some police understand even if this was a prank call we needed to act and not react. How could i get my Board of Directors to exert their financial and political connections to get help immediately. I saw the fear, the nervousness, the faces with nonverbal expressions saying, WHY, HOW, isn’t this America.

So now I am pissed off (Probably too nice of a word) that Jewish Communal Agencies are once again being targeted. I am pissed off that Ivanka Trump who converted to Judaism is silent, that her Orthodox husband Jared is silent. That neither of these two JEWS has approached Trump to at least Tweet against this rash of anti-Semitism. Jarod Kushner had no problem in silencing Chris Christie for imprisoning Jarod’s father Charles for his criminal activities. And where is the Jewish Federation of New York City pleading, urging Charles Kushner who I am sure was or is a donor to impress upon his son Jarod, that anti-Semitism against one Jew is the same as hate toward all Jews. And where is the Rabbi, and his Congregation of Orthodox Jews not demanding that the Kushner's who have the closest Jewish access to the Oval Office use their clout to get Trump to at least Tweet, my daughter, my son-in-law, for God sakes my grandchildren are Jewish.

And where is Rabbi Marvin Heir, the go to Jew for Trumps’s show and tell religious demonstration, where is he, not calling Team Trump demanding that Trump acknowledge the hate that is happening in America. Shame on the New York Federation, Shame on the Rabbi of the current Kushner shul, Shame on Rabbi Heir and if I could find a more harsh word Shame on Jarod and Ivanka Kushner for their deafening silence. Oh and please spare me any excuses why important Jews are so silent!

A Question

Bernie Sanders hit one out of the ball park when he looked across the room staring into Betsy DeVos eyes and asked her if you and your family hadn’t donated millions and millions of dollars to the Trump Campaign and other Republicans do you think you would be sitting here, being interviewed as the Secretary of Education. (DeVos might be the least qualified cabinet candidate offered up by Trump, but his bottom of the barrel is so deep, I am not sure just how awful she is). Bernie showcased snark, sly, sarcastic behavior all topped off with a “yuuuuge” dose of smart. So, it made me think, why not continue with line of direct questioning for anyone Trump.

Too late for Rex Tillerson, and Scott Pruit, but some really good questions might have been, Sir, just how much more profit will you and the companies you represent, need, to stop polluting the Earth with carbon emissions? Sir, how many more quarterly earnings are necessary for you and your corporations to admit, that Climate Change and Global Warming exist and are endangering life on this planet? Then as an added zinger, I would add with all the snark, sly and sarcasm I could muster, do you and your fellow billionaires have a space ship at the ready to transport your family when pollution comes so dangerous breathing will be hazardous to your health, or have you purchased the state of Kansas so you and your family won’t be devastated by giant tidal flows of the ocean.

We need to speak the same language that the Republicans have been using, coached by FOX News, Breibart etc, the language of simple and sarcastic. Speak in clear tones so the audience hears you, hardly move your lips, and then in a positive manner asks very negative question. And if those who are the target of your question get all huffy and puffy either respond, I suppose your answer is I don’t know, or why don’t you know! 

Meltdown

The introduction to the Simpson’s TV show has a quick scene of Homer Simpson leaving his work place the Springfield Nuclear Facility, with a sign posted above him stating how many days in a row, there have been no accidents, and just as we read that sign we see Homer, picking up a piece of a glowing green ball throwing it to the ground and of course we all understand that zero days of accidents is no longer the truth. We understand that Homer Simpson is a special kind of character, and even when he happens to throw away some kind of radiated green ball of glow, he really, really, really didn’t mean any harm. Jessica Rabbit, once said, “I’m not bad, I was drawn that way.” Homer Simpson could state I am not inept, I was just drawn that way, also. What stands out for me regarding the Springfield Nuclear Plant sign of how many days with no accidents, is that in place like that one might assume, NO ACCIDENTS is something with which everyone should concern themselves. You know its a nuclear facility and there MIGHT be a meltdown. But its only a cartoon.

But then, we have a cartoon about to be sworn in as president, and perhaps we should all start a chart on how many days Trumps hasn’t Tweeted, hasn’t provided glowing sonnets of love for Putin, and hasn’t lied. Wouldn’t it be great to read on Facebook or watch the evening news, and at the end of the broadcast we read the following signs: How many days since Trumps last Tweet…How many days since Trump hasn’t preferred Putin over anything American…How many days since Trump hasn’t lied… Imagine if Americans really took a closer look at some of the personal habits of THIS cartoon figure. But unlike his TV cartoon cohorts, this guy is real, and his meltdown, has a deeper meaning for ALL of us! 

Dystopian

Brave New World, (Aldous Huxley), meets 1984, (George Orwell), meets Fahrenheit 451, (Ray Bradbury), marries the Handmaiden’s Tale,(Margaret Atwood), has children, The Iron Hill,(Jack London), Article 5 (Kristen Simmons), moves next to We, (Yevgeny Zamyatin) becomes buds with Oryx and Crake, (Margaret Atwood) and all of them discover that vile, vanity, and vilification, can create a most dangerous and dystopian world giving life to a man named Trump!

The authors of these novels precisely explain how the urge to purge the world of chaos, pretending that in its wake order will maintain the human’s need to survive, is not the way of nature or the natural world. The authors of these novels understood and underscored that power, not earned, but stolen is as dangerous as standing in the middle of a corn field holding and umbrella high in the air as lightening approaches. The authors of these novels provided a purpose, warning us that when fiction becomes fact, when fact is as fleeting as the next group of clouds in the sky, truth becomes a lie, the lie like a virus intent on killing whatever gets in its way.

Dystopian- (adjective)relating to or denoting an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one. (noun) a person who advocates or describes an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad. Trump and the Republicans who revel in his shadow are the noun, the new form of government not by or for the people, but the Party (either Republican or Communist) the adjective. Be afraid, but be not silent, be loud in your resistance, this may be the last time you can speak!

Another letter

Mrs Paul Ryan,

I hope this letter did not come at an inconvenient time for you, like going to the doctors for a cancer screening or a pap smear, or a mammogram. I hope I did not disrupt your day if you were on the way to the Pediatrician, you know to have your kids get their check ups. I hope this letter won’t delay you from visiting the doctor with your husband Paul as he uses his socialized medical plan, you know the one the tax payers pay for.

I hope, you were not on your way to pick up prescriptions for you or your family, those co-pays can be such a pain, do you have co-pays, or do we the tax payer also pay for that? Or maybe you are were on your way to Church, I know how your husbands states he bases a lot of his decisions being such a devout Catholic. Do you if he prays for the 20 or so million who won’t be going to the doctor this year, do you pray for the people with pre-existing conditions when you kneel at the pews? I know your Lord and savior has told your husband and his crew of Christians that life is precious, except Mrs Ryan, you know once the mother’s water breaks. Do you still refer to her as the mother or is the just the carrier, because your husband is the Leader of a Republicans and could give a hoot if the female’s health is at stake in carrying the seed (I mean child)

I hope one day your kids read a history book, Mrs Paul Ryan, and ask you a question about pre-meditated murder, and if your husband’s hands and those of his party  were too bloody when they decided to repeal and really never replace ObamaCare. How do you think you might answer them, Mrs Paul Ryan, just as the townsfolk did living near the Concentration Camps in Europe, “I didn’t see anything, I didn’t know people were dying right in my own backyard. Oh by the way Mrs Paul Ryan, shame on you!

COME ON

COME ON, whether you are on Cable or Network television, and you identify yourself as a part of the news division, stop acting like entertainment reporters whenever you interview, or IS IT get lectured by ANYONE from the Republican Communist Party. You KNOW, they will evade, deflect, NEVER answer a direct question, so why even afford them the opportunity. IT just seems so simple how to deal with anyone Trump. First, don’t argue, as they will never acquiesce to the truth, second, when they are finished lying, provide a fact, not as a challenge but just as an FYI. 

Whenever someone Trump insists that he will bring back jobs to America, let them pontificate, then when they actually stop with their run-on-sentences and have to inhale, say: by the way Ivanka Trump just closed her factory in China and moved it to Ethiopia. When the anyone Trump begins to accuse you of every imaginable Un-American name, just add, FYI. Don’t challenge them, let them choke on their denials. Whenever someone Trump, again insists he is the savior of jobs, just add that the labels on his clothing line say made in China and oh by the way he drives a foreign car. Again, the anyone Trump will jump up and down and vehemently protest this has nothing to do with Trump becoming president. The news person, say just FYI. 

I am amazed that by NOW anyone who identifies as a news reporter or journalist, and DOES not realize, the tricks of double speak by anyone Trump, should be fired or at least go hide in shame. We know anyone trump lies, the truth is like sunlight to a Vampire for them. We know that the Republican Communist Party is beholden to Putin, so they too will lie. If you want to ask a question, try it this way: Speaker of the HousePaul Ryan has shut down his incoming calls, fax from the public, curious, how does that seem like the transparency of a democratic nation like ours. COME ON!

A Dream

There will be six people with titles of Rabbi, Bishop, Cardinal, Reverend, Dr and Televangelist, all chosen by Trump to demonstrate to the world, that this man, Trump, actually cares about the symphony of people in the USA. Some of the speakers have told their parishioners that to really find the Lord you must pay before you pray, others have denigrated populations of the USA in the most bigoted of words and deeds. Some have decided to look the other way as the Trump team sides with the Neo Nazi’s, KKK. Some have forgotten that Racism, Misogyny ever were spoken or practiced by Team Trump. And some believe that a liar, an adulterer, a glutton, was chosen by God to become president. None of them must have understood, Dr King’s speech about a dream, most of them prefer the Nightmare.

We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of Now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children. Perhaps, now even more than the paranoia of the McCarthy Era, the List of Enemies conceived by Nixon, the proclamation of Weapons of Destruction/The Mushroom Cloud by Bush…perhaps now we have little time left to “…make justice a reality for all God’s children…so Rabbi, Televangelists, Reverends, Cardinal, when you stand in the presence of a man eager to please no one but himself, contented to serve his needs, ALL of you can look both Trump and America and remind ALL of us that a Dream exists, not a selfish one, but one in which we all share.

A Drill

During the 50’s, in the public schools of the city of Pittsburgh, we had two special drills, each begun by the ringing of a bell. The first was a fire drill, which always came as a surprise, and for some reason never really happened when it was bitterly cold outside. The second was something called the Retention Drill. This drill was never a surprise, but something taken with as much concern as our Pledge Allegiance to the Flag and our folding of our hands as we recited the Lords Prayer. The Fire Drill siren was a kinder sort of noise, it had an urgency, but it blurted, beeped, stopped for a few minutes then blurted and beeped, again with a pause and did so repeating this cadence for a third time. We all had rehearsed our orderly exit from the building, keeping one hand on the wall, and back in the day one hand on the person in front of us until we safely found ourselves outside of the hopefully never ever burning building (Well one could wish it was burning just a little on the day of a test). The Retention siren was a bell of a different sort. This bell was an alarm, a no holds barred blast of noise that would keep on busting your ear drums for what seemed an eternity. This drill was a real matter of concern, it was the fore warning that the Russians were about to drop the Atomic Bomb, and all of us needed to duck and cover all at the same moment, or we might perish. There was great fun with the Fire Drill as you knew you could spend at least 20 minutes outside, but with the Retention Drill, all you could do as a young kid was hope you covered your head adequately enough, and that your family was doing the same thing somewhere else. This was true fear, wondering if this was just a test or the real thing!

As an Executive Director working at Jewish Community Centers, I had first hand experience, wondering about if this was the real thing or not.  Notifications of warnings and alarms would come my way first, I was like the principal. I remember walking into the Senior Adult wing of the building helping this population exit, trying to explain that everything would be okay. I recall having to find my way to the Early Childhood Center moving our infants, trying to calm down the Toddlers who liked surprises but knew this one was not a good gift. Then I had to assist with the patients in our Dementia Center, already confused, this disruption causing great consternation. After the chaos, the confusion I would sit at my desk, staring out the window, all of this because we are Jewish?

So, as I just read about the dozen JCC’s throughout this nation who recently received threats to their population and property,I hear about a March on Jews of Whitefish Montana, and I witness a rise in the American Neo-Nazi movement, I have to wonder why the jews of this nation who have the power and prestige are so, so silent. I have to ask Rabbi Marvin Heir, why would you not first request the Trump camping to make a public statement against those who have supported him who target the Jews. To Jared and Ivanka Kushner, you both can whisper great ideas to your father and father-in-law, where is your outrage that Trump has at least not Tweeted against these anti-Semites? To the members of the Jewish Country Club angry that President Obama may join or play golf because of his policies in the Middle East, why so silent about the Storm Troopers harassment of the Jews of Whitefish? And you Sheldon Adelson, your money funnels through almost every Republican politician, your money has a loud voice as a lobbyist, what about talking about anti-Semitism? I remember the fear of what if, and i am still afraid.
