The Senate, so it seems to me, has morphed into a secret government within the government. Perhaps it has always been one of those secrets men’s societies, with weird handshakes, and knock three-time, then whistle and then enter, but since I have become of the age where I find current events and politics relevant to my well-being, and the future of those I love…the Senate has grown into a Cabal of invented laws, rules, regulations, and no matter which Political Party is the Sherriff in town, it stinks of Cronyism, and Con. And even though we are a Republic, and even though the intent, after, “the Colored,” and the “Women,” became full citizens (and not chattel or property) and were assumed to have the freedom to vote, I believe the Senate is ANYTHING but that shining city on a hill. I find it to be a personal playground for the greedy, the grifter, the gluttonous, and recently the GOONS, just following orders, not by the people who elected them (and with gerrymandering, Vote Restriction, and the sheer power of the Donors purse,)but following orders of self-interest, and too often the interests of the purse and profit!
To imagine, that the Majority Leader of the Senate, one man (and yes, that has been the case,) acts with the same kind of power that an honest to God, truly elected President might have, the Executive Office which on paper is elected by the entire nation…(again before Russian elected the President,) can decide the law, how to interpret the law, how to break the law, and how to permit lawlessness to run roughshod…boggles my mind. Conscience has been replaced with corruption, freedom has turned into fear, truth is just a fable, and facts only work when they fit the fancies of men and women intent on maintaining THEIR POWER, ignoring the rest of the nation.
I hear nothing by anyone running for president as to how THEY will really make the Senate work for the people of this nation. I hear nothing about term limits, about, imposing fines, or penalties when the Senate is inactive or refuses to let the minority have a voice. The Senate has become a Kingdom, its own crop of Royals, who once elected decide, to abide by the wishes of the people created from DNA, or kiss the asses of the newly evolved population of people created by a Supreme Court, with a bunch un-supreme flawed members, (we might call them In-Justices,) catering to Corporations now know as PEOPLE. To imagine, a scenario where we debate, calling witnesses, permit important and relevant information to be kept secret, ignore the glaring facts, and assume Justice will be served by the Senate…should make any true America, understand America may never be Great EVER Again!
