When I read the article stating that Vice President Harris said, “You are saying to a survivor of a crime of violence to their body, a violation to their body, that they have no right to make a decision about what happens to their body next,” I suddenly had a “whack on the side of my head,” moment. It was as if a truth wthatwas always out there had suddenly reached the part of my gut attached closely to my brain. Think about it, a victim of rape, IS a survivor of violence to their body, A SURVIVOR, who now has become the perp, who no longer has victim status but IS, by the standards of the Faux Christian Republicans, the “BAD PERSON,” because they wish to take back control of their own body. You know, as in THE BODY from which VIOLENCE and TRAUMA had been inflicted.
THINK about that concept, AMERICA. A Rapist, be it a stranger, a family member, or a friend, just terrorized a person, causing all kinds of mental and physical harm and danger, and long-lasting repercussions, and immediately after that HORRIFIC episode, some self-proclaimed ‘WE KNOW WHAT IS BETTER FOR YOU, and OH HONEY, YOUR LIFE DOES NOT MATTER AS MUCH AS OUR BELIEFS, Republican, American Christian Nationalist Douchebag comes along ignoring the VICTIM, only to seemingly take joy in RE-VICTIMIZING THE VICTIM!
