And now as John McCain is dying, he is remorseful regarding the disgraced and detrimental actions taken and not taken, during his tenure in the Senate. And woefully and willingly he is heralded, as a kind of hero returned. He has health insurance, a pension, he has garnered perks from Lobbyists, he has deterred the democratic process, but suddenly all of that must be forgotten, we should all forget how John McCain placed Party before the People, praising him instead, because suddenly he has spoken out against Trump and the hideous charades committed by the GOP, and their leadership, of once he too was a part of. America is also dying of a cancer, a disease of racism, misogyny, anti-semitism, homophobia and pure HATE, but unlike Mr McCain, we don’t have the same opportunity to speak out, speak against; because we are living in a time when checks and balances has blossomed into bull shit, the Constitution an inconvenience, and democracy nothing but a debacle destined to doom.
Senator McCain, you had ample opportunity to decry the wrongdoings of your political party as well as your political positions. If you are apologizing for your past, now that that your present is limited, you were aware of the many choices made, and at the time felt little compunction to change. I am sorry you have a disease, that is incurable, it is a sorry state when we watch loved ones begin their journey to death, but Senator McCain, you missed the timing when your words could have, would have and should have made a change for the better.
Like so many other politicians who decide to NOT seek re-election, there is that moment of self flagellation, as if right now, when the power is no longer connected to their voices, they feel powerful enough to say, “Gee whiz, I really should have rethought those ideas because they were never ideals.” I am so tired of useless voices speaking up as the wind is blowing in a hurricane force toward them…you know, the gusts yelping so loudly that nothing can really be heard. Perhaps this IS your way of asking for some kind of forgiveness from your God, a shedding of the sin! Sorry Sir, all I hear coming from your lips are the same monotone vibrations the German citizens made, the ones living near Concentration Camps, who swore they saw, smelled or heard nothing…or worse, the Nazi soldiers who swore they were only following orders. History, if books will survive the of Trump, will record you inactions and your selfish behavior. My condolences Senator McCain, because the hero you once were, died a long time ago!
