“In Jewish history, there are no coincidences.” -- Elie Wiesel. “The message of Passover remains as powerful as ever. Freedom is won not on the battlefield but in the classroom and the home. Teach your children the history of freedom if you want them never to lose it.” -- Jonathan Sacks. “Passover affirms the great truth that liberty is the inalienable right of every human being.--Morris Joseph.”
For my Family and Friends who will partake in the Passover Seder, I, from the void and vastness of the Internet, (perhaps one of the Lost Jewish Tribes, coming back for now.) would send my blessing, that you receive the promise, and purpose, heart, and hope, that can be found amongst the many usually at your table, but this year instead: from those situated in your conscience, soul, and the places where memories of old are stored, and the one important space, where new memories are formed! If we believe the text of the Haggadah (Hebrew for telling), then like our ancestors we too have tumultuous travels ahead, but a destination to eventually claim. If we believe that a Greater Power, be it God or Nature, or Our Own Conscience that guides us, then as much as we might (and here as the author of this BLOG, take privilege to firmly state ME,) despair we must not remain silent, nor succumb to the insidious, evil begging to be heard! As I write this, missing the kisses and hugs, complaints of aches and pains and compliments of the sweet aromas, embracing our guests, I remember something my Grandma Braff would say! “There must always be a children’s table, for the Seder, because with it we understand that generations continue, without it, each Seder seems like it might be the last, so sit, and don’t complain.”--Grandma Eva Braff… CHAG PESACH SAMEACH!
