As I bare witness to Trump and the Republicans trying their damnedest to destroy an already fragile democracy, I have to wonder…remember that time how infuriated some Americans became when Colin Kaepernick, (just a football player) decided that he had enough and decided to “take a knee”, instead of standing/placing his hand over his heart or saluting when the Flag was flown and the National Anthem was played…remember how so many Americans shouted, “love it or leave it”, “you are a disgrace to our Vets” etc, etc…remember how outraged and vocal the American public became, calling Mr Kaepernick all kinds of derogatory names, suggesting with his skin color perhaps he was either an immigrant or a terrorist…
As I bare witness to Trump and his cowardly cohorts ALL of the Republicans in the Congress, refusing to investigate the Russian hacking/Putins interference/Steve Bannon an avid White Supremacist sitting as chief consul…as Trump’s tax returns and health records are ignored…as conflicts of business interests remain in place, right in front our faces regarding Trump, his darling children, and now his third wife…as HE nominates Cabinet members who either have a history of Racism/ ignorance of the Department they have been elected to run/or only received an appointment because they paid millions of dollars to the Trump and Republican campaigns…As I bare witness to all of this…I had to reflect on the ANGER/the DISPARAGING COMMENTS/ the LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT mentality of the American public, because as a sign of protest Colin Kaepernick decided to “take a knee”.
So tell me all of YOU Americans who were completely OUTRAGED at someone “taking a knee”, how come many of the same red, white and blue folks are seemingly so damned quiet about TRUMP and his Comrades of Republicans giving America/the Constitution/Democracy…THE MIDDLE FINGER? Don’t kneel, when the Anthem is playing cause that is Un-American…but ignoring the principles of this nation, the guidelines of equality, freedom and democracy and in doing so raising your middle finger high in the air is OKAY…Really, NO, REALLY!
