BAFFLING

There are days (I MUST believe this covers a majority of sane, intelligent, mentally healthy Americans) who awaken and DO NOT want to read their internet news, watch any news program on Cable, check their phones for the latest CORONAVIRUS update, or even get out of bed. More gloomy news, more gut-wrenching lack of response, more selfish people insisting COVID-19 is just a political ploy, more deflection than direction, more expectation that COVID-19 IGNORANCE will be the New Norm, superseding the sheer Trump IGNORANCE  as the old norm. The following are three excerpts from Journalists, reporters, and paid professionals to help guide us with some modicum of fact. I am JUST one of the population of 328.2 million, not famous, not published, no 15 minutes of Talking Head Fame or Fortune. And each day, I dread the idea that more bad news is flowing like lava as if the CORONAVIRUS was a volcano not only erupting but to become an explosion of epic proportions and long-lasting dire effects. And each day, Trump remains in power, and each day, NOT ONE Editorial News Media Outlet, or Religious Denomination, or the AMA/ANA or Grass Roots Organization, demand his resignation, EN MASSE, due to his obvious mental incapability, delusional dysfunction, and episodes of sociopath behavior…to be blunt…BAFFLES THE SHIT OUT OF ME!

Lindsey Graham praised Donald Trump’s pandemic response because of its “pro-life” foundation. (appeared this week on Family Research Council President Tony Perkins' program,) For many observers, it's hard to miss the fact that Trump is not prioritizing American lives over other considerations; he's doing the opposite. At one event this week, the president argued, for example, "The people of our country are warriors... I'm not saying anything is perfect. And, yes, will some people be affected? Yes. Will some people be affected badly? Yes. But we have to get our country open." (MSNBC News)

“A massive health and safety infrastructure” — not a “competent” infrastructure or an “effective” infrastructure, a “massive” infrastructure. Kudlow’s comments echo similar comments from the president, press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, and Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner, touting testing and production even as the death toll rises. Pay no attention to the bodies , say Trump and his acolytes. Look at how much stuff we’re doing! It’s classic “more government, not better government.” (Washington Post/Opinion: James Downie)

President Trump and his advisers shifted from hour-by-hour crisis management to what they characterize as a long-term strategy aimed at reviving the decimated economy and preparing for additional outbreaks this fall. But in doing so, the administration is effectively bowing to — and asking Americans to accept — a devastating proposition: that a steady, daily accumulation of lonely deaths in the grim cost of reopening the nation.
