URGENCY

UR·GEN·CY: importance requiring swift action. an earnest and persistent quality; insistence. TODAY, Friday, May 15, 2020, 1.45 million confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the United States/86.571 deaths! Roughly 3 million people filed for unemployment benefits last week, the Labor Department today, as the coronavirus pandemic continued to unleash widespread economic havoc on an already depleted U.S. workforce. The new applications for aid contribute to the total of 36.5 million workers that have sought to receive weekly unemployment checks in the past eight weeks,

Though the House is expected to vote on a $3 trillion bill as soon as Friday, that piece of legislation has been declared “dead on arrival” in the Senate, where Republicans are taking a wait-and-see approach. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) quipped that trying to pass a bill under that time frame would be “political malpractice.” “Oh God, no,” he said, asked if the Senate would pass something by the Memorial Day recess. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), asked if the Senate would wait until after the break to pass a fifth bill, said, “I don't think there's a sense of urgency to do it now.” "I don’t think we have yet felt the urgency of acting immediately. That time could develop, but I don’t think it has yet," McConnell told reporters Monday/Republicans were joyful Friday as they finalized their tax plan, bridging differences between the House and Senate bills and moving another step closer to getting legislation to President Trump by Christmas. I wish I understood, the URGENCY, in pleasing the Republican 1% Donors (Domestic Terrorists), in assisting them to pay fewer taxes and gain more income, VERSUS, the URGENCY, in containing the death count, by providing necessary financial relief in the form of actual cash/dollars/mullah/ for the rest of Americans, by the same cadre of Republicans? So, death, dying, starvation, homelessness, mental distress/duress, the ineffectual government response is NOT URGENT, according to the Republicans, because suddenly the idea of a DEFICIT sounds ominous. Never any worries about the DEFICIT caused directly by the imbalance of taxing the wealthy less, providing LESS income to the Treasury…but now that people, OTHER THAN the 1% DONOR CLASS need assistance THE POLITICAL PARTY OF TRUMP (THE LET THEM EAT CAKE PARTY) finds NO SENSE OF URGENCY! What the Fuck!
