sound bites

Soundbites…yep, sound bites and Tweets, the way policy is purposely avoided, but rather purposely used as a ploy; pretending that a concerned voice, a taught posture, a serious, yet aloof rhetoric, a moment in the hallway between one pretend meeting and another series of doing nothing moments counts…those Reporters always lurking, leering, waiting with a microphone in hand to ask a question, never a gotcha question, those are now too rudimentary, to common…but the news is so fleeting that anything said, with sheer stupid written all over it, sheer bull shit smoldering around it, or just the sheer fact, that as a Senator, as a member of the Royal Class, what a wonderful gesture to spend a mere moment with the mortals…oops, I mean citizens who voted these bums into office in the first place.

So, all weekend, as the Trump/Republican Shut down continues, a bunch of douchebags with the title Senator in front of their gerrymandered name, have taken the time out of their not so hectic nor very prioritized day to lament about the Government Shutdown…Rubio/Romney/Grassley is the latest “show and tell” panderer’s pretending that they give one iota of a shit that people are without paychecks. “No”, they pontificate, Trump should not call a National Emergency…That might make sense, but then you gotta’ pay attention to the next bit of bull shit dripping, or is it oozing from their lying lips…”well who knows, if Trump calls this a National Emergency because he lied about Mexico paying for the wall, the next President might actually find a real reason, something like Climate Change and demand all carbon-based corporations be shut down.” Not, Rubio, nor Romney, nor Grassley even pretends that the asylum-seeking families are in crisis, or that the regular American is paying the hefty price of health and welfare due to the paranoid and mentally ill machinations of a madman called Trump.

And the MOST pathetic thing about this…let me repeat…THE MOST PATHETIC THING ABOUT THIS…is that these three Senators, who for the twenty-second sound bite, provide enough pretend empathy for their next political ad, could simply reply to the not so savvy Reporter (who if they were a bit savvier would ask) we should demand McConnell bring to the floor of the Senate the House version based on a Republican bill, to open up the government. 67 votes to override trumps, tantrum…and if McConnell is so infused with Putin that he too cannot conduct appropriate Senate business, then vote him out of his leadership position. There IS a solution, but men like Rubio, Romney, and Grassley would rather pontificate than produce any real solution. Party before Country…that is the GOP!
