california, so it seems, has decided that civil rights are not appropriate for some citizens.  heterosexuals might be less safe in their marriages if in fact members of the gay and lesbian community have the constitutional right to marry.  the scary fact that two men or two women will destroy the sanctity, the institution of marriage, because they might love one another, seems to be a priority in saving the quality of heterosexual coupling, and making that union devoid of divorces, cheating spouses, marriages of convenience.  it seems it is because the gays want to marry, that heterosexual marriages will collapse and become obsolete.
and then many recite the bible, or those who seem they have a direct line to god, any god, of any religion, by saying that god would frown on two men or two women sharing a life of love together, as a married couple.
we are so full of ourselves, telling others what is good for them based on what we think is good for us. we talk about a life so pure and righteous, as if each of us lives our life better than anyone else.
the audacity is ridiculous, the insincerity blatant, the fear obvious, and lack of respect based on dogma or fear outrageous.
it might be more palatable if those who hate because they were taught to hate just admit that truth, or those who are uneducated admit their lack of knowledge, or those who are bigoted poisoned by their religious dogmas just claim ignorance.  but to pretend they speak the truth is sad, very sad and pathetic.
california, what a sad state of affairs.
