New Year memories

 It was the one night my parents used the stereo attachment to our TV consul, the large piece of furniture in our living room with the very modern concept and ease of “having all of your entertainment needs in one convenient location,” it was our Motorola TV/Stereo/Radio. My parents would play their getting-ready-to-go-out pile of 78’s records, music from Sinatra, Benny Goodman, Rosemary Clooney, and the Dorsey Brothers. “You kids will survive for at least two hours listening to this music,” my mother would say, after all this is New Year’s Eve, and your father and I want to get into the mood to have fun.” The kids, my older sister Bonnie, my younger sister Francie, and I always laughed out loud when my mother said she and my father were going out to have fun, thinking, “what kind of FUN, can parents possibly have?”

 

As my mother would walk down the stairs from our second floor, preceding her would be the aroma of her, THIS IS A SPECIAL NIGHT, perfume. An array of lavender and roses would escort her down the 12 steps leading to the living room, filling up our house with a most wonderful fragrance. On special night outs, my mother would wear her rainbow earrings, with tiny stones of red, green, and blue, my father would tell us that my mother was wearing her movie star jewelry. A few minutes later as my father joined us on the first floor, the fragrance changed course and a hardy helping of Old Spice would engulf our lungs. He would be wearing his favorite tie, with a horn and happy new year embroidered on the tie. They would both then walk over to the stereo, turn up the volume, and much to our embarrassment start slow dancing. Then as the record played on, my father would take my sister Bonnie’s hand and do a jitterbug move, my mother would take my hand and do a two-step, and finally my father took the hand of my little sister Francie and twirl her around and around.

 

Right before they were about to leave for the night, the kids would walk into the kitchen with my mother, and she would tell us in which Tupperware the homemade corned beef, Kosher pickles, homemade potato salad could be found, then opening the freezer to show us the newly purchased gallon of Napoleon Ice Cream had been hidden, and then place her home-made chocolate cake with white icing on the kitchen table. And because this was New Year’s Eve, my father would walk up from our basement with two whole gallons of Coke. We NEVER bought Coke, always going with the Pittsburgh pop called Regent Pop, but on this occasion, we had Coke and Lays Potato Chips. Life was truly good that night.

 

As the front door opened and my parents were ready to leave, and have parent kind of fun, my mother would kiss all goodnight and remind us that we MUST listen to my older sister Bonnie, as she was the official babysitter. Then my father would kiss us goodnight, and quietly whisper in my ear, listen to your sister, but really he said to me, you are the man of the house, so take care of your sisters.

 

My parents left the house, the New Year’s Eve 78’s records stopped playing, and my sisters and I anticipated staying up until that spooky hour of Midnight. What would this next newest year bring us, we thought. What kind of magic was waiting for us in the future!

 

May the memories of the past, continue to remain in our hearts for the present, and may today's adventures lead us into the future. Happy New Year!

The same group of TERRORISTS, pretending that they actually have any infinity and concern for the Palestinians, can actually provide the means for HUMANITARIAN intervention, say NO WAY. And yet, the world does not insist that this TERRORIST group, Hamas, immediately return the Hostages, but non-stop insists that Israel, the nation attacked now stop fighting back.

 

So the TERRORIST group, Hamas attacked Israel, caused the horrors of war to befall on Israel, and bragged about their warriors, are NOW, pissed off that the people they attacked are fighting back, and fighting back with all their might, insisting that to defend themselves, the Israelis are the bad guys. 

 

The crisis in Gaza is horrendous, and more innocents are victims, but if the TERRORIST group Hamas truly cared for their Arab brothers and sisters, wouldn’t EVERYONE assume that Hamas just returned the Hostages, to help make a dent in this madness, that they, Hamas created!

TRUMP is a GOD, not because of who he is, but because basically without the hair spray, the tanning lotion, and the ketchup, he is non-existent. Hilary Clinton told us, the Democrats understood, and most Americans who have or had a modicum of decency, intelligence, compassion, and conscience, KNEW, that TRUMP was and is and will remain a PUPPET FOR PUTIN. At first, it was hush-hush, as TRUMP huffed and puffed that THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO RUSSIAN INTERFERENCE. As was his habit, and something the Media at the time somehow missed, whenever TRUMP made a direct statement that he DID NOT commit any criminal action, it was his NARCISSIM, erupting from the bowels of his miserable self, HAVING to actually TAKE THE CREDIT for doing so. TRUMP just can’t help himself bragging about all the EVIL he has created.

 

And now, lo and behold, now a Binder filled with information on Russia disappeared from within the Oval Office. And now, lo and behold, without any cover-up or double-speak, TRUMP uses the language of another Fascist, Hitler, and he seems to use it PROUDLY.

 

Here is the real worry for me, and the true fear…so far, very few Republican Elected Officials, very few Republican voters, very few Republican Billionaire Donors, and very few Republican Media Propagandists, seem to give one shit…Democracy is being carried by too few people, and Democracy seems to be disregarded by way too many people. You have spoken a lot in favor of the enemy by saying nothing! Silence in this case is not Golden!

To Be a Republican

With unfinished business FOR THE PEOPLE, with disregard to work until decisions have been made FOR THE PEOPLE, with the sheer absence of placing the PEOPLE’S priority above their own Political ambitions, The Christian Nationalist Speaker of the House had decided that a Holiday vacation was more important for the member's House of Representatives, than finalizing both domestic and international issues which are key to the successful lives OF THE PEOPLE, for whom, once upon a time members of the House were to have served unconditionally!

 

Hmm…home for the holidays for the Congress, as if during this past year, THIS Congress has accomplished anything more than trying to get even for all of the self-inflicted wounds Trump, had inflicted upon himself. I am not certain how in the world of Private Business, any employee would be rewarded and given time away from the office, when in fact that employee’s time in the office, was so below par, and so inadequate in achieving a single solitary goal. But the employees OF THE PEOPLE, have little regard for their Bosses, and even less regard to achieving any goals that do not promote and provide for their own selfish priorities.

 

Once the House returns to session, it will have less than two weeks before its first government funding deadline, with the second coming on Feb. 2. The House left town on Thursday without even reaching a bicameral agreement on how much total money to spend. (POLITICO)

No Stopping them

 The Republican abortion message out of Texas is clear: Judges, not doctors, know best. Justices on Texas’ Supreme Court decided this week that a Dallas woman’s pregnancy was not risky enough, that she wasn’t in quite enough danger, to justify an abortion her doctors deemed necessary. (USA Today)

May all of the Texas Supreme Court Justices who now have decided they are a combination of God/Physician rot in eternal Hell! Not risky enough they profess, as it is not truly the midnight hour, so let both the mother and the fetus suffer, A WHOLE LOT, before these Pre-Meditated Murderers give any more consideration.

Part of the impetus behind Tuberville’s lifting of the military roadblock was the potential for a vote on the Senate floor that would have changed the rules of the chamber temporarily. Senate Republicans worried the vote would have created a new precedent and could have been the opening salvo to altering the ability for a member to hold a nominee in the future. (The Hill)

So, out of reflex, I touched channel 118 on Sirius XM, and Andrea Mitchell was doing her usual fumbling and vacant attempt at acting as a Correspondent, talking with some Republican douchebag, asking him if he was at all concerned with the no longer veiled threats by TRUMP to cancel the US Constitution, fire all Civil Servants within the Federal Government and replace anyone within the Justice Department who TRUMP feels is an enemy of his soon to be Nation.  I was unable to catch the name of this GOP ass-licker, but I heard his response to Andrea’s question. This fellow TRUMP Treasonists said, we should worry about Trump's intentions, Trump just likes to be as controversial as he can, he thrives on the attention. Then this idiot added, that some of Trump's threats should be taken seriously, but most of what Trump says is just for attention. Finally adding just enough of bull shit to help him slide back into the rectal orifices of Republican voters, this Thug said, after all, Trump had some great actions as President. Of course, Andrea, who is way beyond her capabilities tried to say, timidly rebut this, only to be silenced by this Republican Liar. Please MSNBC put Andrea out to pasture, she once was great, but so NOT GREAT NOW.

 

But this rant is not about how oblivious Andrea Mitchell seems to be regarding the possibility of our dying Democracy, it is about how, the majority of current Republican Politicians, are still getting away with re-writing history. The Media still seems to think that there are two sides to every issue. TRUMPS record needs to be scrutinized. He provided more tax cuts for the wealthy, (doing this I am certain to maintain his and his family’s ability to not pay their fair share in taxes), thus causing the deficit to explode, thus of course begging the Republicans to cut all kinds of social services, (yep even for all you Red hat voters in Republican States). TRUMP's record includes cozying up to Dictators around the world and trying to undercut our allies. It includes over a half million people dying of COVID because he refused to take medicine and science seriously. His record includes an attempted Coup and Insurrection. 

 

Oftentimes times my ranting and raving is like screaming in the wind. It feels good to YELL, but when it is said and done all I am left with is a sore throat. From crimes to felonies to the attempted death and destruction of Democracy, from antisemitism to misogyny, from racism to xenophobia, TRUMP's record was and will remain EVIL!

The same “Free Speech argument, TRUMP, and his Legal Team insist is what America is all about, will be silenced, according to TRUMPS own proclamation when he is elected to become DICTATOR.

Damn, I thought Margie PUTIN Greene knew how much her BFF, Trump is enamored with Communists like Putin and Kim Jong Un, her staff should have provided her with Cliffs Notes on that subject. And exactly for what should we hold Democrats accountable, for January 6^th, for trying to install fake electors, for trying to insight a Coup?
