we just don't know

Honestly, I ask, without sarcasm just concern…We know Trump is a liar, we know Trump is a con, we know that Trump is unintelligent, we know that Trump is selfish. We know that Trump is unqualified for this job, we know that Trump cares little for anyone but himself…we know all of that! We are finding out just how closely tied Trump has been and is with the Russians. We know he has flooded the swamp with men and women just as self serving as he. We know Trump understands that fear and scapegoating has merits for the ignorant and bigoted. We know that the election was hacked and that Trump did not win his position in a true democratic process.

We know that his own family care little about the world in which they and their family live but as long as that world provides them with profit, as far as they are concerned it can reek of stench and pollution. We know that the leadership team selected by Trump have admitted to hating people of color/Jewish people/women’s rights and the poor. We know all of this and each and every day we know more and more just how dangerous of a human being Trump and his enablers the Republicans are becoming. I, WE scream and holler…

What we don’t know is what comes next…WE JUST DON”T KNOW!

McConnell's Coup

Senator Mitch McConnell made it very clear to his Republican Party, that although Barack Hussein Obama won his first term as president with overwhelming majorities, and even as the citizens of the United States trusted this newest president to set standards and pave the way forward; EVEN with all of the Constitutional fine print in tact, the Republican Party would never let this duly and democratically elected man fill any of his duties and obligations. On January 20, 2009 Mitch McConnell with his financial billionaires fired the first warning shot providing all of us in plane sight that a political coup had begun. This coup d’elate was not sudden but as dangerous as the Southern states seceding from the union and as frightening as Joseph McCarthy’s “Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Communist Party, Nixon’s Watergate and President Cheney’s lie of mushroom clouds and the sudden implosion of the Twin Towers.

We can talk, talk, talk we can protest, protest, protest but as we the common man and woman spend out time trying to discover the facts regarding Trump’s tax returns/his business association with Putin, his mental health stability..the Republican is slowly but surely dismantling the foundations of democracy and rotting away the civil liberties and freedoms of the people of this nation. We can compare the dictatorial nonsense Trump espouses coming from self identified White Supremacists to Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, we can lament that there is no transparency denying us from finding the truth, and we can Re-Tweet with the most sincere of sarcastic words the idiocy that is Trump…but all the while, each and every day, the Republicans are overthrowing this government.

The question we should be asking, the purpose we should be seeking is NOW that the Republicans are successfully completing their coup d’état, what is left to stop them, and who can we turn to to lead the way. If in fact you are still a Republican and have not discovered for yourself the lies, the cover up, the fear the GOP of their constituents, the madness by which cabinet positions have been awarded, the hate for People of Color, for Women, for the LGBT community, for Immigrants for Jews, if you have not discovered the OVERT HATE for the pieces of the American dream that had made this nation great…then you are soulless, selfish, and just as sinister as Mitch McConnell and his coup d’état!

As An American Jew

As an American, who happens to be Jewish, it is not only the silence from Trump and of course is Jewish daughter and son-in-law that is appalling. As an American who happens to be Jewish, it is not only the silence from Sheldon Adelson, whose $125 million helped Trump along with the Russians make it to the White House that is appalling. As an American, who happens to be Jewish, it is not only the silence from Rabbi Marvin Heir, the Rabbi who spoke at the inauguration of Trump stating that “refusing to do so would cause ill will toward Jews” that is appalling. As an American who happens to be Jewish, the SILENCE from the Republican Congress, the sheer quiet of saying nothing publicly, because if they do, they fear antagonizing their “this is our  Christian Nation voters.

As an American who happens to be Jewish, Gay, a Father of a son and daughter, a husband, a brother, a nephew…I find it appalling that Trump is still enabled to remain in the White House, nary a word of recourse from the Republicans to wonder about his connections with both the Russians and members of White Nationalistic groups. As AN AMERICAN, one of the most appalling things is that WE are at a time and place in this nation where we all have to wonder who this narcissistic, unbalanced, cry baby will select as the next enemy of the state! Silence Equals Death! 

Ivanka Trump Kushner

I will continue to chastise Ivanka Trump Kushner, until she stops behaving like her father and begins to act as an actual caring human, not using words to pretend she is a tolerant person, but provides actions to demonstrate, her intentions. I will continue to chastise this person because she has all of the opportunities of a spoiled child and has demonstrated none of the qualities of a fair minded person who would want the same kind of world she, her husband and family are provided. Ivanka is a pampered princess pretending that her world matters more than a world in which her father has demonstrated great discern for and of. Her kids have health care, her kids have privy to any kind of breakfast, lunch and dinner. Her kids can enroll in any education program they so desire. And her kids have no idea of the daily struggle, the kids in Flint Michigan experience, the kids living in the coal country of Kentucky, the kids living in the inner cities in towers of concrete afraid to play on the sparse pieces of green gardens. 

So, here is the thing Ms Ivanka Trump Kushner, how about taking your kids to the places that have been chosen by Whiten Nationalists, people like your co-workers Steve Bannon and now Stephen Miller, like the JCC’s/Temples and Jewish Cemeteries  and be as public about anti-Semitism, stating my kids are Jewish and I would fear for their lives every time a deranged Racist phones in a bomb threat, be as livid, as outraged as courageous as you have been regarding your rejected imported, from Ethiopia, shoe line. How about taking your kids to Flint Michigan and right before someone offers them a drink from their tap water, say, I wouldn’t let my kids drink from this and Governor Snyder you should not permit your own citizens from taking even a sip. Visit schools where bullying is rampant, where LGBT and transgendered students are not only harassed by their peers but ignored by the school administration.

See Ivanka Trump Kushner, bling, pizzaz and baloney are all accepted by the ignorant who believe FOX News is real, that the Russians saved America from Hillary, and that a man who can lie VERY loudly and yuge, but real people find all of the nothing but a bunch of crap. Please Ivanka Trump Kushner don’t ask for something from the American people that you either have no idea on how provide, or worse no intention of providing…you know like, respect, understanding and compassion! (Oh yeah, America when anyone Trump and the GOP declare war on our kids, we must fight back!)

Spiders and Such

I hate spiders…no…I fear spiders, especially the ones just big enough who while they are spinning their web seem to be eyeballing me as if I am on tonight’s blue person special meal. The thing about spiders and me is that once I see the damn arachnid I cannot leave the room from which I spotted it or worse, if I am in bed, there is no way in spider hell I can fall asleep knowing just how cunning this damn bug must be plotting when and how to leap upon my body. The worst part of spider horror for me happens when nonchalantly, as I am watching TV, IF out of the corner of my eye, I think I witnessed some brown or black THING leisurely passing me by. Once I think I saw a crawly icky thing, my fight or flight mode kicks in and immediately I must search for it. It is a very weird emotion, I honestly don’t want to find it, YET, I know if I do not identify this imaginary or God forbid real creature, my entire night will be fraught with what if’s.

Once the Russians won the 2016 Presidential election, I decided that I must give up my Cable news addiction. I relied on Rachel Maddow to soothe some of my worries, enjoyed Joy Reid, and even some Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC. But I realized that all of the talking heads, had no bodies attached, and none of these esteemed reporters or journalists had idea one of what was really happening. Along with the Democrat Party leadership, it seemed to me, the only people who actually understood the outcome of the 2016 election were Vladimir Putin/Mitch McConnell and Steve Bannon. I decided then and there that I could no longer listen to anyone pontificate on politics. And, I have since stopped watching anything but local news and when and if anyone Trump appears upon the screen, I either mute the sound or change the channel to some very mundane station telling me but wait, if you oder now we will double that order.

Back to the spiders. I know each and every day, there is a creepy crawly thing living in the White House, and like the spiders I abhor, I still must at least look around hoping that in fact it was just my imagination. I can not give up the news completely, knowing that if I ignore this current situation, the future of my kids and the generations after them may rot and ruin. So I peek at articles posted on Facebook, promising myself that the only ones I read are from real resources. And then bam, wham, damn out of the corner of my eye I see something, and even though I know it is nothing of real substance, I must search it out afraid that if I don’t hunt it down it might come back to bite me. I hate Trump…no..I fear Trump, but even worse I am terrified by all of the politicians/pundents and the public who let him crawl into our homes.

LOUD

I have tried my best to NOT overly angst regarding the current events in which the lives of those I care for and love, and in fact my own existence, has been forced to suffer and endure an amazing amount of consequences. If there is a type of mental health syndrome occurring throughout this nation due to the dire and undemocratic machinations of a narcissist his self identifying Fascist advisors and spineless political party too afraid of discourse preferring disruption, then I am suffering from this condition and it a very painful emotional ailment. I was raised to believe that truth has no conditions to it,  it is pure. I was raised to believe that honesty is difficult but well worth the effort. I understood that along the way from birth to death you may follow a path of good, witness others trying the highway of bad, but as long as you continue on your course ahead, ignore those who relish the wicked. I have tried hard, REALLY HARD to stop worrying, wondering, wishing and asking why all this WRONG seems to be considered RIGHT…

I can not and will not remain silent. And I can not and will not tolerate those Americans who pretend that freedom, equality and justice does not pertain to each and every one of us who call ourselves Americans. I am a history buff, and with amazement and shock I have read too many accounts of average citizens just shrugging their shoulders, zipping their mouths shut, and pretending that the cost of bread is a priority conversation rather then the cost of freedom. I have read too many accounts of, well it hasn’t affected me directly, yet, so until it does I will ignore the latest round of hate and bigotry. And I have read with great dismay how easy citizens were to cast doubt on SOMEONE else as the villain, all the time hoping by doing so, they will not become the next scapegoat.

There was an uprising in the Jewish ghetto of Warsaw, finally. The success was the attempt to take back freedoms which had been destroyed and buried, the failure was that the will, the ability, the motivation took too long and victory was short lived. I will not and can not permit myself to wait, and wait and wait, hoping that justice will find its way back to this nation. I am frustrated that so many others are silent. The LGBT community learned a lesson when HIV/AIDS was killing our community, Silence equals death. I will not and can not be silent. I would wish that the voices of those who only whisper begin to shout, LOUD.

stranger calls

Jill Johnson (Carol Kane) is babysitting the children of Dr. Mandrakis(Carmen Argenziano) at their home. When the children are asleep, Jill receives a telephone call from a man who asks her if she has checked the children. At first, Jill dismisses the telephone calls as a practical joke. However, as the calls become more frequent and threatening, Jill becomes frightened and decides to call the police, who promise to trace the caller if Jill keeps him on the telephone line long enough. Jill, frightened to extreme measures, arms herself as she receives one final call from the nefarious stalker. Soon after the conversation, Jill receives a call from the police, only to find out that the stalker is calling from inside the house. ( from the 1979 film, ’When A Stranger Calls’)

For me, the real horror of anything scary is the idea that the monster does not lurk outside your bedroom window or is hiding behind the bushes located in your neighbors yard, but that the creature is in the attic, your dark dank basement or perhaps that distant closet, the one whose door never ever seems to stay shut. For me fear becomes way too real when in a horror movie we are told that a virus has come to town. At first its effects are minimal almost invisible, suggesting but as the virus gains control of the minds of its hosts, it changes behaviors and intentions and eventually your best friend, your next door neighbor, the cop on the block, all turn into the monster.

Be wary America, the creature is living in the White House. He is not on the foreign shores of an aggressor nation. He has no need for an arsenal of nuclear weapons to wipe away our daily existence. Be wary America, this monster has unleashed a virus, a virulent contagion that has found its ways into the bodies of men and women who lack intelligence but are bountiful with bias and bigotry. His powers are fed by a Republican Party too terrified of their own horrid lack of conviction,  He is nourished by a self serving variety of billionaires who believe that tomorrow doesn’t matter its all about more, more and more for today! When the phone keeps ringing and ringing when the threats keep cascading and cascading, when it comes down to who will succeed in the end, the aggressor or the intended victim…what will we do? We ALL know just how scary this horror movie has become, do we however, have the courage to define its ending in our favor, OR do we all lack the conviction to change a very visible and ominous future. The stranger HAS called, now what?

Not a Conspiracy

It wasn't a conspiracy theory…it wasn’t sour grapes…it wasn’t democracy in action…it wasn’t just Trump and Putin exchanging dollars for blackmail…nope, anyone with more than a FOX News intelligence…anyone who looked closely at just how close some of the down ballot races seemed to end up…anyone who truly wondered how a narcissist, never providing any truth, just harangues and fiction could win an election in a nation that prior to 2016 prided itself on providing some way forward…anyone with true values and morals KNEW that the LACK of concern by anyone Republican regarding the hacking of our election…meant that the good ole’ boys and girls of the Grand Old Party were in on the grifting/the grab/the demise of the democratic process. And now, FINALLY, albeit without an iota of Republican leadership assistance, America is finally discovering that Trump and his ENABLERS the Republican Party are two peas in a Putin pod.

Follow the history of the Republicans over the past two decades, the more they insisted on stricter Voter ID laws, the more they insisted that gerrymandered districts is what the Founding Fathers meant to place in the US Constitution, the more they restricted polling places, hours of voting the more they remained in power. If you are currently still proud to be a Republican voter, and don’t believe that without the premeditated decisions to diminish the democratic principals in the nation, then YOU too are part of the problem…and guess what EVEN you are going to get jerked around. Trump announces proudly that he hopes Putin hacks some more emails/many of Trump’s team dining withPutin, doing business with wealthy Russians/pictures of Trump’s adult children all fun and laughter at Putin’s grand events…and all we hear from McConnell/Ryan/ and of course little Lord Jason Chaffetz, nothing to see here.

Evidence, you know something that is real fact, is trying to ooze up to the surface, telling us that when Putin hacked Hillary, he had a few conversations with the Republican leadership and gleefully they granted him the ability to blackmail the GOP in exchange for them to lead this nation into chaos. Again, knowing that real voters, a one person one vote, kind of voter would NEVER agree to the ANTI ANYTHING policies the Corporations who are People HATE, the GOP relied on a dictator  and his tricks to lead a coup and take over this nation. Time is of the essence, I can only hope, the truth is set free or else we ALL, even those of you who still proudly call yourself Republican voters, will be in a nonstop free fall breaking every democratic bone this nation has ever owned!

Shadow Man

Senator Joseph McCarthy understood the intricacies of Fascism and used his knowledge of stifling the truth, presenting fake facts in a proactive method, and realized the beauty of denying freedom of speech, of course all under the guise of “Are You Now, Or Have You Ever Been a Communist”. McCarthy was a master of inciting fear, using that fear to scapegoat an enemy, and like a Vampire needing blood to survive, McCarthy thrived on the paranoia of the self loathing American, who always felt much better when someone else, someone DIFFERENT ended up on the lower rung of the ladder, permitting the real loser to think he or she was the champ…and not the chump! Senator McCarthy was good at manipulating and skewing the democratic process, but for good measure he had at his co-conspirator, an even more loathe some sinister sidekick, named Roy Cohn. Roy Cohn was a closeted homosexual and also a Jew. Roy Cohn found no difficulty in attacking other homosexuals and found great joy in connecting some imaginary dots stating that most liberal Jews DID indeed have connections to the Communist Party. Hating all you are, all you have become is a disease that not only infects your own well being, but it attacks those around you with great vengeance and venom.

No need for me to rant or rave about our newest foray into Fascism, denial of the freedom of speech or an independent and free press or the fact that FACTS no longer matter. We ALL understand that Trump has found the playbook of McCarthy with a slight change of course not asking the question “Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been A Communist, but replacing that statement, with “Why Aren’t You A Communist.” But as history always manages to do it has repeated itself once more even to the part where a new Roy Cohn has emerged, this time with the name of Stephen Miller. I have no idea if Stephen Miller is a closeted homosexual or not, but Stephen Miller is the grandson of Jewish immigrants, who left their native homeland of Russia  so they might not perish during the era of the Pogroms and or the Nazi’s extermination of the Jews.

Like Roy Cohn, Stephen Miller could care less of his own background or family history, and like Roy Cohn, Stephen Miller a seemingly self loathing individual, needs to identify the OTHER, as the enemy because being insecure, you always want to victimize someone else. Roy Cohn was a brash, bigoted mouthpiece for McCarthy, Stephen Miller exudes xenophobia fears the democratic process and seems sophisticated enough to place a curse on the OTHER without using facts, just fiction…in a prose sounding so God Bless America, that to argue with Stephen Miller, you might sound like YOU are the anarchist. I write this because of course we must fear anything Trump…but it is the boggy men who stand behind Trump who honestly are the people we MUST acknowledge with the real power. Be afraid of ANYTHING and ANYONE TRUMP!

STUPID

The lesson we all must learn from Trump is how to communicate in STUPID. There is magic when speaking STUPID. It has an allure, a mysticism of warning and doom. Speaking STUPID keeps our eye balls on anything but the TRUTH. STUPID has no boundaries, rules or regulations, it is enticing because it permits your inner demons to run wild and free. There can never be any grounds for an argument when speaking STUPID, which is like an elixir to those who only wish to express their dissatisfaction with their own lives. Say it as loudly STUPID as you wish, say it often in STUPID. Trump doesn’t quite understand his power in speaking the STUPID, but he does know somehow the more he speaks the STUPID he surrounded by a form of Kryptonite. Any derogatory debate, any intelligent insight, any complex conversation bounces off the armor of STUPID.

So we must then go after the enablers of STUPID. The GOP leadership who have finessed the machinations of STUPID, but are still students trying to figure out how smother themselves with the same kind of STUPID as Trump. Fighting Trump is useless, especially if we think the best weapon is TRUTH. But there are weak-links within the GOP and I believe they are the ones who can be conquered with SMART

The Hostess

Women, throughout the ages have been referred to by many  a derogatory term. Ever since the day the GUYS were considered true sons of Adam, women have been nothing more than the offspring of his rib, as was Eve. Gals, Girls, Babes, Bimbo’s, Chattel and always the most expressive of words beginning with the letter C.  But in the year 2017, men, so fearful of the power of a female, men so insecure as to their own definition of masculinity, men surrounded by their ‘little ladies”, demure, dumb and diminished to become nothing more than the apron wearing/house cleaning/inferior humans…these men have hit a new low…referencing women to nothing more or less than a HOST.

This new iteration might be comical if this was not the current stream of thought by a political party, aroused by an extremist Christian view of the world and its inhabitants. A ship of fools has taken to the seas, its Captain is the Republican Party, its Admiral a fool named Trump. So, again a lecture in the form of a question…if you are a female…if you love a female…if you respect a female…if you are a father, a son, a brother…if you believe in equality…if you still understand the intention of the founding of this nation provided for a strict demarcation between Church and State…where are you voices to stop this rampant misogyny ruled primarily by the most insecure, idiotic and insane MEN. 

The Chaffetz Kids

Hi Ellis, Max, and Kate, hope everything is going well for you. I am sure you know just how important of a man your daddy is when it comes to the US Government. He is in charge of a Committee in the House of Representatives that can set an agenda for all the rest of citizens who live in Utah and other places. Your daddy is a smart man and he knows the kind of powerful person he can be. Now your daddy is very proud of his Mormon religion which can a nice thing, as all religions try to help ALL of us discover right from wrong, truth from lies and to hopefully set an example of what is fair and equal. So I, just an average citizen wonder if next time you and your daddy go to church you might ask him a few questions for the rest of us, who can’t sit in church with you and your family.

Here are some questions, Ellis, Max and Kate, okay? Ask him when he and his fellow Republicans want to make the Endangered Species Act go away, how many animals might not be around for and your kids to actually see alive? See, the Endangered Species Act helps protect lots of God’s creation from dying out. Why by the time you three get to be your daddy’s age, there may be at least three dozen kinds of cool animals dead and gone. The ask your daddy why all the wonderful National Parklands don’t seem so wonderful for his Republican friends, as they want to permit big corporations to drill and mine and pollute this part of our country. Ask you daddy and i know this sounds silly, silly, silly is he a puppet for men who a lot of money? Then Ellis,Max, and Kate ask your daddy right before your church services start if poor kids should be able to get free lunches at school, so they have enough vitamins and nutrition to make their brains work harder and their bodies be strong, ask your daddy if poor kids deserve the same kind of educational opportunities as the three of you. And finally, Ellis, Max and Kate, turn to your mother Julie, two questions; now you can giggle and laugh when you do, ask her if she knows the word ENABLER? It sounds like a big word but it means someone who permits others to either harm themselves or other people, then ask your mother Julie why does she remain so quiet when your daddy wants to poison the air, permit the current president to lie. The Ryan Kids

Hi Samuel, Elizabeth and  Charles Ryan, how are you all doing today? I am sure you know your daddy, Paul is a very important man in the US Government, actually he is the third in Command if something should ever happen to the President and VP. Since HE is so important I wonder if, when he takes you to Church, right before or after the Mass, you might ask him some questions. See, you daddy Paul has told all of us regular Americans that two experiences in life have made him the person he is today: his religion and the input from his mother, your Grandma Ryan. So here are the questions you might ask your daddy as the Church organ is playing music welcoming everyone to pray. Ask you daddy if he thinks that by the time all three of you are old enough to have kids of your own, does your daddy think we will still have breathable air, drinkable water, and weather that is so hot a lot of crops may die. See, your daddy and his Republican pals, who also swear that the Christian religion is an important force in their lives also, ALL these friends of your daddy, Paul all want to make the Environmental Protection Agency go away…the EPA, has been in place so when the three of you run and jump outside you can breathe and not get sick. Then ask your daddy one more question: See if your daddy believes that all of the dirty stuff that flows from coal once it is dug from the Earth and then processed to be used for carbon energy, contains a whole of poisons, but your daddy believes that its A-OKAY, Samuel, Elizabeth and Charles for kids just like you the same age as you to who live by the creeks and streams and rivers where all of this poisonous material will flow don’t have to worry. Ask your daddy why he thinks THOSE kids can live and play near some very dangerous elements. Ask you father if its okay for poor kids to get cancer. Oh and one more thing, Samuel, Elizabeth and Charles ask your Grandma Ryan if her friends are on somethin called Social Security and Medicare, and place a big smile on your face and ask her if any of her friends can manage to pay for food, medicine and rent when your daddy and his Republican friends cut the amount of money, Grandma Ryan and her friends will receive. Just one more question Samuel, Elizabeth and Charles Ryan, while in church ask you mother Janna what an ENABLER is? If she is not sure, here is a hint, it can be someone who looks the other way when they are doing harm to themselves or others. Thanks Ryan Kids! God Bless!

A Question Grandpa

One the many components that make me who I am, when it comes to religious identity is, I am proudly Jewish. As I have written often, my entire professional career has centered upon working within the Jewish Community in an environment which promotes equality/self esteem and the understanding that as unique as we Jewish American might consider ourselves were are a piece in giant quilt of the American Life. I have had the opportunity to discover the sameness and difference in 5 separate Jewish communities, while working with a population interested in remembering its history but ready to move forward making history with a new company of companions both Jewish/Non Jewish to become Champions for all. It was, and still is with great regard and respect that no matter which community I found myself, the one quality that remained the same, was the fabric of family and its importance in reciting it’s traditional, hoping to inspire the next generation to find the best from the past and reinvent it for the future. Often times families of wealth, would find the resources to build a preschool wing and in turn dedicate it to their grandkids, or a youth wing insisting that that today’s adolescent needs a healthy environment in which to grow and become an adult who in turn will give back to their community, following a proud tradition.

On Wednesday, Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and was asked the following question :”I wonder what you say to those among the Jewish community in the States and in Israel and maybe around the world, who believe and feel that your administration is playing with xenophobia and maybe racist tones," the reporter asked. Trump’s response (which, if you have the will power to follow this man) was: Three hundred and six Electoral College votes. We were not supposed to crack 220. You know that, right?" Trump asked, turning to Netanyahu. No reporter found the will, then courage, perhaps even the audacity to then ask this jerk: But you are the grandfather of Jewish children, the father of your very special daughter Ivanka, might you have some words of encouragement for the Jared/Ivanka and their children?

There are many Jews in this nation WHO could and should have been more vocal regarding the SILENCE from Trump’s lack of response. Men and women who do carry a big stick/a large check book/ and who even if they won’t admit are have the same jewish blood that any Fascist and Nazi regime wants to bleed. Shelly Adelson proved $125million to Trump alone/Mr and Mrs Charles Kushner the elder Kushner’s who also happen to be grandparents along with Trump. The Big Donors of the New York City Jewish Federation an organization to which the Kushner’s are large donors. The current Rabbi of the Shul in NYC of the elder Kushner family, the new shul in DC in which Ivanka and Jarod act so righteous when they walk for services. The Jews of the communities I have worked with, this with either financial leverage or political leverage, were out first line of defense..and none of those leaders were ever SILENT, when the welfare of their community was being antagonized. Shame, Shame, Shame!

In front of ALL of our eyes, the same eyes who watch FOX News or MSNBC  who read the Nation Magazine or salivate over Breibart, in front of ALL of our eyes whether you find information from the New York Times/Washington Post or the National Inquirer…we are witnessing the overthrow of the US Government spearheaded by a shell of a man (Trump) enabled by a political party (The Republicans) and encouraged by a religious group (Evangelical Christians) who care less regarding democracy but are encouraged by the fact that the LGBT community be held prisoner/women have no control over their reproductive lady parts/anyone not Christian be banned from participation/and the poor remain in poverty because it is only their fault they lack money. In front of our eyes, Mr Putin has begun the demise of our democracy, EASILY, with great enjoyment, understanding that the Republican Party knows that a fair/equal democratic process has and will never favor them.

We ALL know the facts, the facts that people like Jeff Sessions and Jason Chaffetz refuse to review. We all know that when a politician refuses to disclose information regarding his life his health his business dealings that the ONLY reason for NOT doing so is because ALL of that would disqualify him from running for office. So with little hocus pocus and w hole lot of smoke and mirrors and band of brothers (The GOP) who place Party/Self before Country a Con has come to covert us into Communists. And what can we, the average citizen actually do to stop this nation/our nation/MY nation from imploding and dying?

ALL I can think of, this moment, out of total frustration, and anger, and outrage is some dialogue from the movie Dog Day Afternoon circa 1975—- Sonny: “Kiss me”. Detective Sargent Eugene Moretti: “What”?  Sonny: “Kiss me, when I am getting fucked I like to be kissed a lot”. I am not sure what comes next. I will, however fight as hard and long for a return of democracy, and I will, until my last days on Earth be heard to resist/protest/and fight against the tyranny of the selfish and self loathing!

My Valentine

Back in the 50’s, the days when even Lucy had to sleep in a separate bed from Desi (even though they were married in real life), when Harriet Nelson and June Cleaver wore pearls a lacy apron and lots of make up to clean the house, bake the cakes and do the ironing. Back in the 50’s, when the Colored Folk played maids, butlers or shady characters, when Jews were shysters or the evil lawyer trying to steal any money from you as possible. When the word Spinster or Bachelor were code words for the deviant homosexual…back in those days when a man was a man and a women his possession, Valentines Day was celebrated in our public school. We all provided homemade Valentine Boxes and were told by our teacher that EVERYONE should provide ALL of the students in the class with a Valentines card. This was cool, and this lasted until we were in the fourth grade, and then a particular development occurred. Suddenly the young kids were now young boys and girls, and in the 50’s, it was kind of awkward for boys to give other boys Valentines cards, but since they were only girls and girls are silly, it was fine for girls to give other girls Valentines cards. But in the 4th grade, most Valentines cards handed out were the ones that NEVER said Be My Love, Or Be My Valentine, cause any reference to something like THAT, might make you Gay!

So now it is the 2 two thousands and since the I Like Ike Days of men being men and women being chattel, times HAD changed…(Not too sure what to make of 2017, with the Christian/Communist/Coalition in charge), but until Trump and his treasonous Republicans started to turn the clock backwards, it seemed that boys could give boys Valentines and girls could continue to be permitted a the gender that could demonstrate love and compassion for their Sisters (Although nowadays I think the insecure male Republicans call them Feminists).

But here is MY POINT: I just gave the man in my life, my husband, my legally wedded partner, my other half, my lover, my hero, my role model a Valentine’s Card…and it said I love you, Be my Valentine, I want to kiss you, I want to hold you and I want to always make love to you. My love is more than as equal as the heterosexuals who are on their third marriage, my love is far more equal to the heterosexuals who enjoy an adult  adulterous affair, and my love is richer than the poor heterosexuals, who just to comply with family/church or cultural norms get married not because they want to but have to. Happy Valentine’s Day, to my husband Joe…I love, love, love you!

Julie Chaffetz, Again

As most people, who care about the future of this nation, know, Jason Chaffetz is the Chairmen of the GOP House of Representatives Witch Hunt Committee, which hunted everything Hillary/anything Benghazi and to date nothing Trump. Jason is an arrogant Republican, the kind of politician who until recently assumed that gerrymandered districts/ uneducated religious voters who either subscribe to FOX or Breibart news/burning copies of the Constitution, the parts he disagrees with/ is and was all that is necessary for him to become one more reason why term limitations should become the law of the land. Mr Chaffetz is a cocky character, with a well rehearsed snark, and sinister smile, his shit never stinks, because he says so and so far his constituents have agreed. Thinking the coast was clear Mr Chaffetz, held a Town Hall meeting/ similar to the ONES held in the hey days of WE HATE ANYTHING OBAMA, when at that time, the paid for protestors pretending to be Tea Party members (but actually Koch Brother employees), always showed up shouting in Chaffetz’s favor. But now with no thanks from the DNC or any of those other Democrat Organizations always begging for one more dollar so this time FER SUR, they can defeat the GOP, Mr Chaffetz had a large surprise. People wanted to hold him accountable for his repeal of ObamaCare and not doing anything to investigate Trumps budding relationship with Putin. Of course Chaffetz the coward he is, complained that the protestors were mean and were wasting his time. Yeah, like all of the other Republicans who finally got a taste of their own DEATH PANEL protestors.

But during Coward Chaffetz’s town Hall, a young girl, perhaps 8, took to the microphone, and asked a simple question of His Majesty: “Do you believe in science.” The young girl asked because Coward Chaffetz wants to support cuts to the EPA/insists that Solar power is killing crops and farm animals. Coward Chaffetz, could not look this young girl in the eye without lying…so he responded that well, huh, maybe…you know coal can be clean. Then the Coward ran off the stage, complaining about all the paid to protest Protesters. (I hope that 8 year old girl has a 1099 Form.

So now, Julie Chaffetz (Mrs Jason Chaffetz), I am asking you some questions, again: Does your husband Jason tell your kids, Kate, Max, Ellis that science is kind of sorta like magic…does he not worry for your children that the air they breathe, the water they drink will be so poisonous that when they are teenagers they might have to live underground…So, Julie Chaffetz, does your children’s father look them in the eyes as he did with THIS 8 year old (Paid Protestor) and tell Kate, Max, Ellis, Coal is neat, it is clean it is the future of clean energy…Or Julie Chaffetz doe you husband just admit the truth, that as long as People who are Corporations keep on bribing him, he will say and do what please them…even if it might kill his kids?

Jewish Americans

Among the many parts of my life of which I am proud, being Jewish is one of them. I built my entire professional career working in the Jewish Community, and in doing so I had the opportunity, working in 5 different communities. I had the chance to learn the minor differences, but largely understanding how much in common Jewish American have, no matter which state or city they call home. I was the Executive Director in a few cities and I also came to understand how the power of a position matters and can make a difference. With my personal experiences as being a MUCHER (an important person) I am appalled, angry, and pissed as hell that the population of National Jewish MUCHER’S have either remained silent, have decided to ignore or consider themselves not the typical riff-raff of Jewish Americans when it comes to advocating against advisors Trump has hired to run his White House.

Trump has three men who have stated in prior interviews and in their resumes, that anti-Semitism is cool, correct and the American way. They have written speeches and participated in American Nazi groups/White Supremacist meetings and are enemies of the Jewish American population: President Steve Bannon/Assistant Deputy of Hate, Sebastian Gorka bedazzled in his Nazi Medal of Honor at trump’s Inauguration, and the newset Stooge, your Stephen Miller, who has said that the Powers of the President SHALL NOT be questioned. (By the way, for fans of history don’t you think Stephen Miller looks a lot like that little weasel Roy Cohn, the lawyer for Joe McCarthy…I think it is either the tiny weasel eyes or the fact that when he and Roy Cohn spoke, nothing but the lips move and saliva foams from the mouth)

But for me all of the above is wrong, but even worse for me as a Jewish American, to hear the silence from those Jews who have power and prestige is a Shunda (Shame) a dirty rotten SHAME:I have given up on Jarod and Ivanka Kushner and to be honest their past and current Rabbis’s. Remember Joe Lieberman the first jewish VP nominee, he was able to come forward and speak of the good graces of betsy DeVos, but silent as hell on the Anti-semites. Then  there is Rabbi Marvin Heir, so verbose at the Inauguration, but suddenly his lips must be sewn tight. And of course good ole’ Jewish billionaire Sheldon (MY Casino’s First) Adelson. Shelly contributed $125 million to Trump and IS the guy the GOP come to to kiss his ring. Nothing from Shelly…SILENCE…Oh yeah, and all the Conservative Jews of America, who say, Trump will be tough on ISIS, and cut our taxes…The Nazi’s loved them those kind of Jews…steal their money for awhile, then show them that Jewish Blood is Jewish blood and once the money is gone, let it bleed!

Cornyn, the three-term senator from Texas, reports that his offices were flooded with constituent calls opposing the nomination of Michigan billionaire Betsy DeVos as U.S. Secretary of Education. The senator believes he has figured out what caused the “unprecedented” volume of messages. “There’s no doubt that there was a concerted campaign by the Establishment to try and sink Mrs. DeVos’s nomination.” Not only was there conspiracy, Cornyn added, there were plenty of sour grapes: “I think that this is part of the angry response to the fact that President Trump won.”

Senator Cornyn you are a PUTZ, (PUTZ- "obnoxious man, fool," 1964, from Yiddish,) Just because I am certain you are ethnically challenged, Yiddish, is a language many Jews spoke in Europe, almost as a secret language, to keep the bad guys from eavesdropping). Senator Cornyn you are  PUTZ from a very red state which only became Communist Red, due to some shady gerrymandering tricks by one of the SCHMUCKIEST  (SCHMUCK- an obnoxious or contemptible person, also Yiddish) Republicans, Tom DeLay, who decided that democracy was never a fit for bigoted Republicans so HE DECIDED deny minorities a chance to attain one person one vote. You are the numero dos Comrade in the Republican Communist Party, and like your exalted CZAR, Comrade McConnell, you love the lie, ignore the truth and fear the real power of the people, because YOU understand, what an empty SHALMEILL SHALMEILL-  Yiddish, an unlucky bungler : chump, you always were and currently are!

Now, Senator Cornyn, I understand these are Yiddish words, all part of the Jewish culture, and even though you care less that Steve Bannon an avid White Supremacist is running this government, perhaps you should learn these words, because the largest donor bribing your treasonous Political Party, is Jewish man named Sheldon Adelson. I was a young man of the 60’s. I always thought when there was turmoil, and the testing of the American resolve, protest was a necessary accessory for a truly democratic nation. During the 60’s, we were lucky enough to find the voices/talents/and will for positive change via singer/songwriters. I am an older man in the midst of the 21st Century, and the world, let alone MY country is suffering from the lack of truth/honesty/conviction. Where are the PROTEST SONGS, the songs to encourage a fair, equal and just WAY forward. So with my author’s license, (if such a thing exists for me) I have borrowed the music from Neil Young and Buffalo Springfield to sing my protest song. I am not a lyricist, so perhaps if you know the melodies, try your best with my words. No one should remain SILENT!

Steve Bannon and Trump are coming, Jeff Sessions is on his way, I hear the Racists calling, this moment its so appalling, dem-o-cracy has died today!

As I bare witness to Trump and the Republicans trying their damnedest to destroy an already fragile democracy, I have to wonder…remember that time how infuriated some Americans became when Colin Kaepernick, (just a football player) decided that he had enough and decided to “take a knee”, instead of standing/placing his hand over his heart or saluting when the Flag was flown and the National Anthem was played…remember how so many Americans shouted, “love it or leave it”, “you are a disgrace to our Vets” etc, etc…remember how outraged and vocal the American public became, calling Mr Kaepernick all kinds of derogatory names, suggesting with his skin color perhaps he was either an immigrant or a terrorist…

As I bare witness to Trump and his cowardly cohorts ALL of the Republicans in the Congress, refusing to investigate the Russian hacking/Putins interference/Steve Bannon an avid White Supremacist sitting as chief consul…as Trump’s tax returns and health records are ignored…as conflicts of business interests remain in place, right in front our faces regarding Trump, his darling children, and now his third wife…as HE nominates Cabinet members who either have a history of Racism/ ignorance of the Department they have been elected to run/or only received an appointment because they paid millions of dollars to the Trump and Republican campaigns…As I bare witness to all of this…I had to reflect on the ANGER/the DISPARAGING COMMENTS/ the LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT mentality of the American public, because as a sign of protest Colin Kaepernick decided to “take a knee”.

So tell me all of YOU Americans who were completely OUTRAGED at someone “taking a knee”, how come many of the same red, white and blue folks are seemingly so damned quiet about TRUMP and his Comrades of Republicans  giving America/the Constitution/Democracy…THE MIDDLE FINGER? Don’t kneel, when the Anthem is playing cause that is Un-American…but ignoring the principles of this nation, the guidelines of equality, freedom and democracy and in doing so raising your middle finger high in the air is OKAY…Really, NO, REALLY!

4 Adult Children

Dear 4 Adult children of Congressman Jack Kingston: Your daddy has presented quite an interesting idea, that , being a law demanding that if you are a child of poverty and rely on at least a breakfast or lunch at school, YOU GOTTA EARN IT and become a handyman or handy-lady at your school. Now ain’t that just a little bit like his buddy from Georgia, Newtie Gingrich, you know the guy who cheated on his wives twice. Newtie, being all Christian-like, like your daddy Jack, got right to the point and just told all those poverty leeching/can’t pull themselves up from their own boot strap kids, BE A JANITOR if you want a nutritious meal at school! You 4 Adult children of Rep Jack Kingston might want to share your daddy’s idea with your own children, maybe as you prepare them to get dressed in their Sunday best as they head to CHURCH.

MAYBE, you 4 Adult children might wonder, well, heck Daddy Jack, maybe you and the GOP should try to invent a law that might bring jobs to the unemployed, or raise wages, so all of them leech poor kids wouldn’t have to be so damn needy in the first place. MAYBE you 4 Adult children can ask your own kids, how they might feel if INSTEAD of all their after school classes and sports and computer game time, HOW THEY would feel, fixin’/mendin’ and doin’ stuff at the school just to eat at least one hot meal a day. I wonder you 4 Adult Children of Daddy Jack, how your kids would respond?

And while we are at it, you 4 Adult children of Jack Kingston, I might ask, since your daddy also believes that RAPE comes with a gift from Jesus/that birth control is only for women who demonstrate no control/ and that Affordable Health Care is a tool of the Devil…I wonder if you’ll explain to your kids, you know Daddy Jacks, grandkids… that Grand Pap has socialized medicine, and maybe if your kids grow up to be as special as HE, they too will never EVER have to worry about payin’ those medical bills. And that THOSE newly hired handymen and handy-ladies won’t have to worry about affording any health care at all, as they should be pleased enough to eat one meal. Dear 4 Adult children of Rep Jack Kingston, I AM curious how do you even let your father touch your kids, without YOU 4 feeling guilty as HELL.

Holy Cow, kids, the first shot has been fired by the Republicans against one of their biggest fears, Elizabeth Warren. Yep, the Mastermind McConnell, is so good at understanding why people hate the Republicans, and he certainly is smart enough to understand that Elizabeth Warren IS and will become the reason WHY Democrats might be motivated to vote. He is my perspective on how the devious droids of the GOP function. They are like coyotes, they first circle around possible prey. The coyotes identify the leader and tire out that bit of prey early on. SO, in case you are not aware, the first blow toward Senator Warren, was her being Censored in the Senate. With the GOP they need to reason, but they spin a rhyme almost as good as Dr Seuss, so if you listened closely to the robots who only feed when they are paid off, the muttering, aside from SHE didn’t listen, because SHE is getting ready to run in 2020.

Don’t believe me yet. Try this one on kiddies. The GOP started early on hacking, attacking and laying innuendo regarding anything Clinton. Comrade McConnell is too sophisticated of a ploy for his wealthy benefactors to not notice the GOP’s success, you know the early bird gets the worm, and the earlier these anarchists begin, the more pressure and of course lies they can spin at/toward/and in the facer of Elizabeth Warren. Watch closely how almost every paid and bought for Republican will either end his/her interview saying the words Elizabeth Warren, or if she wasn’t so fixated on running for President in 2020 she would do the people’s business.

COME ON Dems, learn a lesson or two. Get a backbone a spine, no better yet an evil Play Book…Plot and Scheme like the Republicans are already doing. None of them will provide checks and balances on Trump, we know that, stop fighting them on it…begin to attack call out the potential wounded prey, like the Republicans who actually have to worry about smart people not voting for them. It IS so easy. My goodness, we had 8 years of the Con from McConnell, DID WE NOT learn anything!

NOT EVEN ONCE

I have singed at least two dozen petitions/called at least a dozen Congressional Offices/ thinking at the time, perhaps the average citizen can make a difference…what I didn’t do, NOT EVEN ONCE is write a check to any politician, worth $1million dollars. I am a person, but not a Corporation type of Person, my rights are dictated by Republicans who insist they regulate almost everything I do…I am not a Corporation Person, in which the Republicans provide free reign permitting THEM to do ANYTHING they so desire. I breathe oxygen, but if I bled money someone might pay better attention to me.

We ARE in a crisis, no, it is not down the road, it is NOW. Trump has broken a dozen laws, and I don’t want to hear about just wait till the next one, cause that will be it. IT should be right now. The Republicans lie and cheat as much as Trump. Trump is like that alcoholic family member, you know the one you wish would become clean and sober, but in the mean time you treat to bottomless mimosa’s every night; the Republicans are his enablers. The Republicans could stop this nonsense, but then that would make too much sense. And besides they thrive on dirty tricks/unethical behavior/ and know that fair and equal are poison to their party’s brand.

I am not sure what is next, aside from this country of mine being directed off the track to crash into the side of a mountain. I have to wonder, just how much loathing you must have for this nation, if in fact you are a registered Republican and have not insisted that YOUR Party begin to act more American and less Russian!

In the US Senate, a white boys fraternity which recently, with most reluctance has permitted some non-whites and few females to join; it seems there are rules and regulations which ONLY concern themselves with the welfare of the Frat Brothers themselves, and intentionally provide TOTAL disregard toward the welfare of the public which somehow IS still able to elect these Frat Brothers into office. It seems, no matter how bigoted/biased or full of bull shit a member of the Senate Fraternity lives his/her life, no matter how evil his/her intent may be directed to the American citizenry…no matter ANY of that, a sitting member can be CENSURED for having the audacity to IMPUGN, the character of a fellow Senator while standing on what was once the People’s Senate Chambers.

Senator Jeff Sessions has a history of trying to impede any legislation requiring integration, equality and the civil rights of minorities in this nation. He has a record of being THE guy who has tried to take action to deny inclusive participation in the fabric of this nation for People of Color, and continues to find loop holes to implement any existing laws which define ALL Americans of any color/religion/sexual orientation/as EQUALS.

Comrade Mitch McConnell, perhaps the third most dangerous man in this nation after President Bannon, his puppet Trump, has decided it is better to discriminate against other minority demographics in this nation, then be open, honest and frank regarding one of his Frat buddies, Jeff Sessions. In CENSURING, Senator Warren, Comrade McConnell has denied free speech and real facts to be heard. Comrade McConnell has initiated a DICTATORSHIP within the Republican controlled Senate…think about that, if you are still convinced the Republicans, like Trump are GONNA make America GREAT!

YOUR FAULT

And another one bites the dust, the Department of Education is no longer a viable outlet for intelligence, progress, freedom or EDUCATION. A person whose only credentials include writing large amount of checks, bribing politicians, and of course being so wealthy that she only has to travel in her golden, gilded bubble, has become yet one more inappropriate, inarticulate, standard bearer for an administration so inept, and unable to find value or substance.

Betsy DeVos joins the Cabinet. She is confirmed to become yet one more reason why, if you are still a Republican voter, you need to spend a long time looking in the mirror asking yourself,WHY! If you have kids, grandkids, if anyone in your family or group of friends have children, you need to apologize for your attack on the public school system in this nation. This is NO longer about just how much YOU may have hated the black man in the White House…NOPE, this is NOW about, just how much you HATE the United States of America. YOU, Republican voter are not alone to blame for the emanate decline in education/environment/equal rights…NO, along with your own failure to find fact about Trump, you join the Republican politicians who either are too afraid of Putin and his pages upon pages of dirty tricks performed by the GOP, or the Republicans who understand that the only way they can ever be in power is to dismantle the democratic process in its entirety. This is JUST one more pathetic day in the history of a once great nation, which, if you the Republican voter do not take heed, will help lead us to evolve into a third world country run by a Banana Republic narcissist, lacking any conscience but full of vindictiveness, pettiness and spite!

Tokyo Rose

Tokyo Rose, was a generic name given by Allied troops in the South Pacific during World War II to what they believed were multiple English-speaking female broadcasters of Japanese Propaganda The broadcasts were aimed at Allied forces in the Pacific, with the intention of demoralization”. She often undermined the anti-American scripts by reading them in a playful, tongue-in-cheek fashion, even going as far as to warn her listeners to expect a “subtle attack” on their morale.” (Wikipedia). 

Demoralization, demonizing, and establishing doubt, have been tried but true standards in the determination of establishing a dictatorial government, based on nothing but the fear factor, an emptiness of hope, paranoia, and of course alternative facts. History, we know can repeat itself, the wise among us, understand permitting a repeat of an avoidable disaster, is the best way forward, but more often than not we close our eyes, hold our ears, and let the negatives of history, run rampant, any way. Tokyo Rose, has found her footing once again, not necessarily as an invention of a foreign enemy, but by a current American Administration, hell bent on destroying the fabric of this nation in favor of a new kind of bigoted, biased fascist style  Republic. In 2017,Kelly Anne Conway, has become the new improved, more dangerous, cunning, devious Tokyo Rose, enjoying her role helping this nation to implode upon itself. She lies, blames, denies, accuses, always finding foes, preferring fiction to fact, and insists that those who have the audacity to question her red, white and blue motives are the true enemy!

We had learned from Tokyo Rose that trying to argue against her was futile. The more you argue with anarchists/traitors/empty vessels the more frustrating it becomes. These antagonists love becoming the victim and truth is never found. Perhaps when out newest iteration of Tokyo Rose, lets call her Moscow Kelly Anne, provides alternative facts, each news network, should permit her to speak, never engage her in a debate. But then, for example when Moscow Kelly Anne says the media is disparaging Trump, the so called reporter plays a few tapes of Trump asking for Obama’s birth certificate. Whenever Moscow Kelly Anne frets and frowns because poor Trump is disrespected, let Moscow Kelly Anne speak, then always provide a tape of someone Trump or Republican saying the same thing about the Obama’s. Easy!

In Texas

Hale and hardy, the men in uniforms met in the arena minus the Lions but still a few Christians, facing off in a game founded on the idea rough and rugged is a part of the tapestry of the United States. Half time in which the warriors could strategize a performer sang, gyrated, proclaimed we are all the same and that difference is what makes life even better. She was surrounded by dancers who may or may not have been, as she sang, “Born This Way”, perhaps a member of the LGBT community of not. Audience members consisting of myriads of skin color held candles illuminating the hope and light for all of our lights to shine. Hokey, maybe, full of glitz and shine, of course, but on an unofficial holiday like Super Bowl, an easy remedy for that touch of warmth as if the entire Super Bowl was a pot of homemade stew brewing and breathing, calling for cozy and calm.

All of this extravaganza took place in a very gerrymandered state, a very red state, Texas, whose current Republican leadership, Gregg Abbott/Ken Paxton/Ted Cruz/John Cornyn/and past dancing with the stars Governor Rick Perry have come to power with the understanding that hate, bias, bigotry all wrapped up in Christianity, using Jesus Christ as their scapegoat for their own inadequacies, is all that is necessary to lie to the citizens of Texas. All of these men have decided, also, that anything Trump does or says can be pardoned, because, as long there is a Trump repressive Republican control, any bit of freedom and equality, can and will be smothered diminishing any spark of a democratic nation.

As is the usual custom, the entire night began with the singing of the National Anthem, some people wondered would the Players ‘take a knee’, they did not and many of the same people so worried about the Players taking a knee, were relieved, as if the mere motion of holding one’s heart standing at attention is ALL we need to make America whole. And as most of America sighed a “yuuuge’ bit of relief because the American Way did not seem tarnished even as a man is sitting in the Oval Office, praising anyone Russian, destroying anyone not like he or his henchmen, tearing the Constitution to shreds. So, the question becomes whose America is it anymore!
