I recall, way back in the 50s, while in elementary school, how often during our Writing Class, how the teachers would not only urge left-handed kids to use their right hands to learn cursive, insisting that using your right hand was truly the only way a young child would ever make it to be a successful adult. I also remember how often my left-handed classmates would cry trying their hardest to use their right hand, when in fact they were born left-handed. It seemed that the teachers way back then associated LEFT-HANDEDNESS as being some kind of enemy, some kind of enemy against the very black-and-white decade of the American 50s. They might be enemies of some preconceived self-created NORM.

Before I was brave enough to finally say I am a HOMOSEXUAL, and embrace one aspect of my true identity, I did consider myself as an enemy to my family, my friends my community, and worst of all to my own well-being. Like the left-handed students in elementary school, I thought I could change something, as fundamental as my sexual identity…I COULD NOT. I was a sophomore in high school when I first heard this song. I had no idea then that all of the lyrics to this song, would resonate and become relevant to the life I might live, decades later. AND, he has the permission, so far of not only a large population of this nation but the support of Republican Politicians who have openly placed their self-preservation above and beyond the freedoms and liberties of the citizens of the United States. How much more?

How much more? The cadre of GOP candidates whose desire is to become the next TRUMP, pretend that somehow being Pro-Life, EXCLUDES, the quality of life we actually live! Save the unborn they declare but pay no attention to the climate in which they try to survive and thrive. Say no to science and medicine, both of which can and should prioritize the potential for a safer and healthier life. They want to play teacher, they want to play doctor, and they now want to play parent, deciding who has rights, liberties, choices, and freedoms. How much more?

 

How much more? One person one vote, the supposed American Exceptionalism of endorsing and enhancing the spirit of free elections, and fair elections, have become nothing but empty words via the actions and denials from the Republican Party. From permitting Governors to fire legally elected officials who disagree with authoritarianism, to the Supreme Court granting partisan Gerrymandered Districts, to still supporting an Electoral College system helps defeat a majority of voters' choices, which makes SWING STATES and SWING STATE VOTERS more important than each and everyone else. How much more?

As I watched and read the news regarding the upcoming Republican, (or is it the TRUMP PARTY) debate, (or is it the TRUMP PARTY side-show), the song Born Free started ruminating in my head.  8 count ‘em, 8 people will be on stage promoting their VOTE FOR ME PLEASE anguished talents. Maybe two of the 8 will demonstrate a backbone and or spine, but at least 6 of them will most likely showcase their disloyalty to our Constitution and Form of Democracy. And most of them will CERTAINLY emanate their SHEER SHALLOWNESS AND COWARDNESS. AND MOST OF THEM WILL NOT NOR EVER BE FREE!

 

Now, I know that with the Republicans void of a real platform, these folks will discuss issues of WOKENESS, explaining as best they can lie, that to be free is not to be LGBTQ, or a person with Female reproductive lady genitals, an Immigrant, or that Slavery was a freeing kind of American concept, or read just any book. BUT MOST OF THEM WILL CERTAINLY NOT DISCUSS THEIR OWN LACK OF FREEDOM, from the confines of an American Enemy, TRUMP. For them, life seems not to be “…worth living…free!”

Paul Gosar, whose siblings stated, "It's just lunacy, it's not politics, regarding his conspiracy theories. Originally there were 52 members of this Ultra MAGA conclave of Insurrection supporting Representatives, but since they expelled Margie-Putin-Greene from their COVENT OF CONSERVATIVE MADNESS, they are at 51 members.

The only bit of FREEDOM these anti-Democracy jerks aspire to is to stay out of jail by defunding the agencies which have been scrutinizing their own misdeeds. And for them, there will NEVER be FREEDOM for the People of Color/LBGTQ communities, anyone who does espouse their form of Christianity.

 

I have been waiting for the so-called GOP Moderate Representatives to grow a backbone, you know the Republicans from swing districts, you know the only GOP Representatives NOT FROM GERRYMANDERED DISTRICTS. You know the Politicians that actually MUST BE ACCOUNTABLE TO THEIR CONSTITUENTS Where are they?

The Human Centipede

The Human Centipede (First Sequence) is a 2009 Dutch independent body horror film written, directed and co-produced by Tom Six. The film concerns a deranged German surgeon who kidnaps three tourists and conjoins them surgically, mouth to anus, forming the eponymous "human centipede." 

This, for me, was one of those “gag reflex” movies in which at my viewing I actually had to turn off the TV. But then I actually had to wonder, how the hell and the hell was going to actually happen to these people. This was and is for me a GROSS movie, but I did manage to watch it in its entirety, regretting the lost hour and a half I spent choking as I watched it. I also wondered how exactly any actor in his or her right mind could play their part without becoming physically ill.

 

BUT, lo and behold, in real life, I seem to be witnessing a remake of The Human Centipede, in the form of the majority of candidates running for the office of President within the Republican Party. With the exception so far of Chris (I will remain a self-centered jerk and hypocrite) Christie, and Asa (my record as Arkansas Governor leaves much to be desired) Hutchinson the rest of the Lonny bin lineup of GOP wannabes seem to want to have themselves conjoined to Trump's anus, as were the characters in The Human Centipede, (albeit at least the characters in the movie were victims, while these GOP morons volunteer gladly)

 

Pardon Trump, make excuses for Trump, ignore Democracy, ignore the Constitution, ignore the law, permit a criminal to remain free from a Jury system, all of these actions by most of the GOP wanna be Presidential nominees, reminds me of nothing more than the GROSSNESS OF BEING A HUMAN CENTIPEDE!

And as long as Trump remains a free man, and still has the ability to become President again, that phone will ring and ring and ring!

I enjoy watching even the most schlocky of apocalyptic movies, viewing them and wondering what exactly would I do in this same dire situation, if these situations were actual life events. So for the next hour and a half or two hours as I watch the end of the world events, and even as stereotypical heroes and villains are portrayed in typical Hollywood style, either trying to save the day, or destroy the day, I watch, I wait, I wonder, and in usual Hollywood fashion, good usually triumphs…unless the studios are planning a part two or three or one-hundred.

 

Hurricanes off the coast of California, and Baja Mexico. Devastating and life-ending wildfires in Maui. Canadian wildfires lasting for months. 100-plus-degree weather in the Plains and Texas. Intense heat waves in Europe and Greece. Flash floods all over the world. And as most to many of these are the result of Earth’s climate change, it seems, at least for me, that The Day After Tomorrow has not only arrived in my lifetime, but we are now going on the day after, the day after that, the weeks after that, and the months after The Day After Tomorrow. And sadly, since this is not a scripted movie, there seems to be no HERO around to save the day, but instead, plenty of VILLIANS, identifying themselves as REPUBLICANS.

 

I say, REPUBLICANS, because, in fact, way too many of these Politicians, be they on a State or Federal Level, are still denying that these CATASTROPIC WORLD-WIDE EVENTS, are anything more than Mother Nature. And when I did some research on these REPUBLICAN POLITICIANS, I noticed that there was one major common connection with all of them…ALL OF THEM HAD RECEIVED IN THE PAST, AND CURRENTLY ARE RECEIVING FUNDING FROM THE FOSSIL FUEL INDUSTRY.

 

I must wonder, do POLITICANS, ever genuinely think, that the money they receive from their PUPPET MASTERS, makes them safer than the rest of us?

So far, we have term limits for a sitting President (I imagine if Trump is re-elected he might very well try to change that), we DO NOT HAVE TERM LIMITS for Senators and Representatives, which, at least for me, helps these Politicians to think of themselves as some kind of Deity!  

 

And with the behavior of men like Nixon and Trump, one must wonder, at least I do, why there is not a more concerted effort in this country to set a better clearer understanding that being President is not and never will be a person above the law. We are not, YET, a MONARCHY!

Like so many episodes of the ‘Twilight Zone,’ the innocent have been bombarded by the disregard of laws, the disruption of norms, and the WANT and WILL, to ignore the welfare of others. I believe TRUMP has succeeded only because a large minority of people never want to pay any consequences for any and all crimes they may have committed or might like to commit. TRUMP is a hero for the selfish self-serving Americans who NEVER EVER FELT THAT RULES APPLIED TO THEM. Like, “a whack on the side of my head,” it finally dawned on me that the people who support TRUMP lack conscience, hate morals, and make up their own principles to cover up their own self-loathing.

Yesterday, Ohioans voted NO on State Issue One and instead voted YES to maintain a one-person-one-vote form of Democracy in the state of Ohio. The scam by Red State Legislatures, to limit a one-person-one-vote by eliminating majority rules, by ignoring the will of the people, had an overwhelmingly huge setback, as the voters of Ohio realized that Constitutions can and should enshrine the rights and will of the majority.

 

Ohio joined voters in Kansas, Kentucky Colorado, Michigan, and Wisconsin, realizing that the Republican Party and their Wealthy Donors, who buy and own Right-Wing, MAGA, Christian Nationalism politicians, NEVER HAVE THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE IN MIND when pretending to pass legislation.

 

Whether they are identified as PROPOSITIONS/ISSUES/MEASURES or INITIATIVES, when these items are placed on the ballot, and the PEOPLE, not the Legislators actually have a direct hand in governing, the true will wants and wishes of the Majority take effect.

 State Issue 1 will change the process of how citizen-led initiatives can amend Ohio’s constitution. It could change the future of Ohio’s constitution, forcing citizen-led constitutional amendments to get a 60% vote instead of a simple majority. “If Issue 1 is approved on August 8th, it would apply to all future amendments,” said former state Representative Mike Curtin.

“Until 1953, our constitution said that the Ohio National Guard was for white males only,” Curtin said. “Not until 1953 that Ohio voters approved an amendment to the constitution to allow black men to become members of the Ohio National Guard. And that passed with 58% of the vote. So with a 60% threshold, our constitution would still say that the Ohio National Guard is for white males only.” (Spectrum News 1)

Paxton has spent much of his time in public life haunted by accusations of illegal or unethical behavior, causing quiet discomfort among some Republican colleagues. He’s always held on. Will this time be different? (Texas Tribune)

 

Yep, once again the men and women we assume (make an ASS out of U and ME), who are responsible for upholding laws, and who have the authority as the HEAD HONCHO of each state, to enforce laws, BREAK THE LAW, willingly and give the middle finger to the rule of law.

 

These criminals are supposed to be the folks who arrest and prosecute CRIMINALS. And just like the cadre of Lawyers for Trump, who either looked the other way, acted dumbfounded, or ignored laws, still have the license to practice law. This reminds me of something from Tik Tok, where you need no facts, education, or experience but yet you act like you KNOW IT ALL. So sickening!

The “just following orders” defense, made famous in the post-WWII Nuremberg trials, featured heavily in Eichmann’s court hearings. But that same year Stanley Milgram, a Yale University psychologist, conducted a series of famous experiments that tested whether “ordinary” folks would inflict harm on another person after following orders from an authoritative figure. Trump has demanded of the Republicans in Congress: Former President Trump is stepping up his war with Senate Republicans by calling for primary challenges next year against GOP incumbents who do not support investigating President Biden’s family finances.  (The Hill) “Congress should refuse to authorize a single additional shipment of our depleted weapons stockpiles … to Ukraine until the FBI, DOJ and IRS hand over every scrap of evidence they have on the Biden Crime Family’s corrupt business dealings,” Trump said at the rally. He added that any Republican lawmakers who didn’t join the effort should face primary challenges, a tactic he used last year to unseat Republicans who voted to impeach him for inciting the Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection. The Republicans call History Critical, because in fact, the facts demonstrate critical moments of human existence where men and women became monsters. Willingly, (remember one only follows orders for their own assumed SELF-PRESERVATION), these Republican Politicians place personal profession, over people, wealthy donors place their own profits over people, racists, and bigots, place their own hate over the goodwill for all other Americans.
